Update installation problem.

I have Vista Home installed on my laptop. The last automatic update apparently got stuck in the final (3rd) part of the configuration process... that he sets up, shuts down, then immediately after reboot loops just return to step 3 in the update configuration, it continues along this loop configuration, restart, on and on. I could not even access the login to my profile page. Any ideas before you reinstall the operating system?

Thank you

  • Windows Update installation problem

When I turned off my laptop Windows Vista Home Premium, the system entered into mode "install updates". It has been the installation of update 3 of 8 for more than an hour. The display does not turn off and unplug the machine. The disk led is on continuously.

Do I have a problem? Should what steps I take? Thank you.

    Hi jayalan,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

The updates take time depending on the size of the file. If the update has hung so I suggest you hard reboot the computer and see if you can boot to the desktop. If you can boot to the desktop and then the updates are not installed will appear and which will be installed during the next update.

Once done with the step above after starting the computer on the desk. I suggest that reset you Windows Update components and perhaps that should take care of the updates. install the updates by selecting two both than some updates system needs to reboot for the changes to take effect.

Access the link below to reset the Windows Update components automatically.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058

If the computer does not start on the desktop, then I suggest you to start safe mode and see if you can boot to the desktop. Once you are in the office, do a system restore which will take the computer to a time where it was working fine.

Go to the link below for the procedure to start in Safe Mode and system restore.

I have the following error 0 x 80070490.  He points to an obvious error of CBS.  I can't use my Vista upgrade disc because it is grayed out.  I can't see SP1 or SP2 in the list of installed programs to uninstall.  I can't restore because saved restore points do not go far enough.  I tried Update Readiness Tool (checksur) and the chkdsk and the scandsk.  I have a registry clean tool as well.  Nothing seems to solve this problem, and I can't figure how I can uninstall sp1 or sp2 from a command prompt.  My last resort would be a full install and I try to avoid this. Can someone help me solve the problem CBS manifest, given the context I provided?

  • Windows 7 standalone update installation problem.

I recently installed Windows 7 N (Professional), I checked the updates and it is was always so I downloaded updates of autonomous msu as well as windows update 7.6 agent. Now the problem is when I installed the update agent he allows me to install 2 msu files and for the 2 next I need to install the agent update again, and worth forever. This means that for the installation of 20 files msu, I must install agent update 10 times. If this isn't the case, made the third msu file continues searching for updates in the computer.

It is expected by M$, we must now jump through hoops to clean install.

If looking for updates to hang on a current installation,

Switch your windows update setting to never check the updates temporarily

    Restart the machine

Then you download this from your download folder run from there.

Install it and restart when prompted too after he did a search of stand-alone for updates that should not

take too long, it took all of 5 seconds, '' If '' windows update settings are turned on forever check

updates before running from the downloads folder.

    Once it installs and restarts

You can reset your updates affecting everything you had before default =...

    Then check the updates manually.

  • Update installation problems CS4

Since last week I struggled with my PC trying to install 11 updates I have downloaded Adobe.  I have a PC with Win 7 OS, 12 GB of Ram running an i7 920 CPU by Intel using high speed ISP. My graphics card is ATI Radeon HD 4800 series with 512 MB.

I downloaded... re-downloaded... etc and still when I try to install the updates I receive the error message according to box... give or add a word or two.

    Incomplete installation

The installation process has encountered a problem.

Please choose from the following options.

1 cancel the current update and continue to install the remaining updates

    2. stop the installation and continue later

I used option 1... but after each updated 11 did his thing I would get the error again box.

    I need HELP!

BTW... your opinions are appreciated for the next question

The ATI Radeon HD 4800, good enough for this program or is it just enough to put?

    Thank you

    H

    Hello H,

I advise you not to download updates of the 'Help' procedure - updated in CS or bridge.

Go directly to Adobe, download updates at your place chosen on your machine and for every update right click on the downloaded installation file and choose "run as Administrator".

Make sure also that no process of CS or bridge is executed when you perform the installation, check with the Task Manager.

    I hope this helps,

    Roger

    Hello

    1. you receive an error message or error code?

2 have what Microsoft Fixit you tried?

    3. is the question not confined with them specific updated?

4 did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    5. who is the security software installed on the computer?

Method 1: You can temporarily disable the firewall and the security software on the Windows XP computer and try to install the updates.

NOTE: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 2: The problem with Microsoft Windows Update is not working

    Hi edwinsabaria,

    ·         You get the error message?

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable the antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network at the time the anti-virus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 2: Put the computer in a clean boot state to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the section How to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state of the link to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    (a) click Start, run.

    (b) type msconfigand click OK.

    (c) the System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    (d) click the general tab, click Normal startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

    (e) when you are prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.

Method 3: You can also manually install updates (KB number) by downloading from the Microsoft Download Center.
