Update KB938371 80004005

get windows updates

Thank you

Hi, Gallexie,

Windows Vista?  Windows 7?

To work around this problem, turn off the computer and physically disconnect all the readers who are not required to start Windows. (for example, printer, digital camera, etc...)  Turn on the computer, and then restart the installation of the service pack.

If workaround does not work, the alternative is to perform a clean installation.

As well as the above problem I am facing problems Fast Ethernet Broadcom NetLink and HUAWEI Mobile Connect Dirver, for which I am not able to install drivers correctly.

    Hello

    1. are you able to install some other updates?

    2. what exactly happens when you try to install the drivers?

    3. are you an error message when you connect to the Internet via Ethernet?

    Method 1 :

Set up your computer in a clean boot state and then try to install the updates.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

  • 8.1 Windows update fails (80004005) / (20004)

I don't know even where at the beginning or what to say except that I have already run SFC, reset the Store cache, initpki.dll missing entirely, all updates are installed from Windows Update and there is no device that can be removed, this is a laptop. The update is downloaded from the store, and the installation is fine until "Set up 63%", in which the system instantly restarts, don't not even a Stop screen, restore Windows 8 and gives me this bit is "Sorry." I could be the one to blame because I turned off the system while the first attempt was at 80% and Windows has problems even before that date. CBS.log contains no error (logging does not apply to offline scenarios, I did not specify repairs offline) and setuperr/setupact.log contains:

2014-06-21 17:06:31, SP CBackupRecoveryPartition::DoExecute error: no not WinRE backup in the backup directory. HR = 0 x 80004005

Run DRevitalize to remap bad sectors seemed to work perfectly.

This time, without a reboot or turn the computer (why I did that?) and with the windows partition marked Active, installed Windows 8.1.

  • KB938371 (do not install or uninstall) code/error 80004005

October 3, 2008, my computer displays after installing the update kb938371. As I understand it, this update is required for some future updates or service packs. I use Vista Ultimate (32-bit) with service pack 1. Recently, I had no choice but to do a full restore of my C drive. Everything works fine after the operation except that I now get the symbol of Windows Update. It wants to install kb938371. I tried to get this installed again (thinking maybe that restoration must have caused this behavior) does not. Update of the victory message: «Windows Update has encountered an unknown error...» Code: 80004005. So then I try to uninstall this update (from the list of installed updates). You choose the update and uninstall confirmation is supposed to appear never does. It won't uninstall the 1 from 10/08. I suppose that if I can't get out, then I won't be able to receive it as a new update. Here is where I'm stuck. How to solve this?
Thanks a lot for your help.   =)

    Hey,.

I had the same problem, I followed the resolution which is provided in the link - http://www.vistaheads.com/forums/microsoft-public-windows-vista-general/225477-update-kb938371-failing-install.html.

Let me know if you still face the question.

  • Error code: 80004005 (cannot install updates)

problem with windows update code 80004005

80004005 = unknown error 0 x - can occur due to interference in the context of programs and services

Unfortunately, we do not know what Windows operating system you use, service pack level, or even what software security that you use.

Maybe you could try to manually download an update/s and installing the same if necessary in safe mode to see if the update/s settle. If they do, then it is most likely interfering program/services.

Don't even know what update/s are the cause of the problem. You can download them here:

    Search for a download

    or here:

Download individual updates from the catalog and register to be installed later.

After installing the latest updates Vista (KB938371), I discovered that my mouse USB (Genius Traveler) does not work. I can't restore the system (mistake) and this update cannot be removed. Other (flash disk) USB devices work correctly.

Could someone help me? Thank you.

Problem solved, I found this on another forum

    + Hi all, +.

+ I found the solution on another forum (forget which) and published this solution in multiple threads. The problem is, as indicated, a Human Interface Device in combination with update KB938371. After installing it, my usb mouse stopped working. Just go to the--> HID Device Manager - devices--> unknown device and looking for drivers. Vista won't find any drivers online, so you must get the drivers on your computer. The location of the driver (in most cases) will be C:/Windows/Winsxs. You will get a window saying: "this is an unsigned driver blah blah blah". Just install the driver. The mouse worked for me (even without reboot). +
