  The El Capitan upgrade removes just the iPhoto in the Dock icon. Have you looked into your Applications folder, if iPhoto is still there?

  I have two Macs running El Capitan, which is old enough (2008 iMac) and am not at all have this problem. If you look through these forums, you will find that many of the slow running issues have been resolved simply by getting rid of the 3rd party anti virus and Mac apps from cleaning. Here, the consensus seems to be that these applications are useless on Macs and slow them down at best and are downright harmful in the worst case. I have none of them on any of my Macs and you have never run in the problems of virus or malware from OS X launch back to 1999. My advice would be to uninstall everything these programs from your Mac and see if that helps. And don't bother to re install later. You do not claim them, particularly the so-called cleaners. OS X does this work by himself.

  My name is Lisa Marie and I am very new to Apple computers. I'm more familiar with my iPad and iPhone. I recently got a week my first MacBook Pro. I had the version of highest level 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retna display. That being said that I am assuming that I have all the latest versions of the software. As I said I am very new to computers Apple MacBook and I know not at all what so ever. I know even where to start looking for information on my MacBook Pro. I really hope some of you can help me given the lack of information I had again to all this. Please please bare with me and be patient with me.

  With the above being said, I am much need help. When I got my computer about a week ago I was able to upload photos with a problem at all. Then, I got a notification of updated OX El Captain so I did it because the person who helped me at the Apple Store when I got my MacBook Pro says it is very important to update every time Apple launches an update to keep my MacBook Pro to the level of performance higher. When I upgraded to the captain El OX and connected to my social media accounts I tried to download my photos that are stored in my MacBook Pro Photo Album by clicking the button Upload Photos/Media provided on my social media accounts. When I did the box popped up which is usually done in order to select your media you upload. Usually when the box pops up you can see the Photo Album in the main column to the left. But this time after that the upgrade of BŒUF El Captain when the box to jump to the top of the Photo Album wasn't even show or left in the main column. Here are some screenshots of my problem. I thought I would include screenshots to better explain my problem to the community. I hope this helps.

  These screenshots are all my downloads on my MacBook Pro folder, because the Photo Albums have been taken and removed from the left column by the upgrade of BŒUF El captain to ever so: no access to upload photos to all that.

  Try one... As you can see in the screenshot below the library is completely eliminated, in the left sidebar in the main column. In the old version before the upgrade of the captain El OX he had three options between devices and the section of Tags in the sidebar on the left. One of these options has been Photo Albums and you can easily access your photos from there. In addition I tried to click on Photo Album library icon in the main screen and it still would not bring my photos at all what so ever. Tried a million times.

  I really hope that these catches have helped explain what my problem is with uploading my photos on screen social media accounts. I hope some of you can help me. I really need to be able to download the photos I am a photographer and its my business and the only source of income. I need to show my work to my customers and if I can't show my work to my clients on my Facebook page so I can't get to work and my business will suffer. If anyone can help me I would be extremely grateful and thankful.

• MacBook Pro keeps freezing and timing after update to El Captain 10.11.15

  I have a MacBook Pro, which was previously executed on SCF 10.11.14 2013. I began to see problems before my laptop even turned on! When it is restarted after installation, I got about 60% of the way down the front loading apple bar it has completely stopped. I waited quite awhile (maybe 20 minutes) but no progress on the charge. I did a reboot hard twice before he finally finished (sidenote: both times I restarted, instead of starting at the beginning of the load bar as it should, the load bar would start in the place of 60% that he is stopped at the first time).

  It finally comes and I had to open iTunes, Photoshop and Safari so it was very laggy. After working on my laptop for five minutes, the song that I had started doing these breaks, and Photoshop as well froze upwards. I tried to go on Safari, and that's where the beachball replaced my mouse arrow. I tried to use my MB with the only window open (photoshop), but even force weren't no longer works. It just seems to be freezing for longer periods of time.

  I ended up doing a hard reboot once again and only with the help of Safari, but this does not work. Hard restart once again tried only using Photoshop and encountered the same problem. This last time, I have Photoshop open, but for some reason, the tools are not answer at all. For example, when you use the Paintbrush tool, you will see a circle in the placement of the classic mouse arrow when you are in the photoshop window. Well, the arrow of the mouse remained and everything I clicked on, as well as two fingers/output action zoom did nothing. Nothing does in Photoshop anyway.

  Could someone please, please help me? I'm a photographer and I have a project due to my clients in the morning, and I can't afford this issue right now. I write this on my MB Air, which runs on CBS 10.11.13. I'm afraid to try an install of update on this one!

  If nothing can help, can someone tell me how easy and on an empty stomach to downgrade to the previous version of El captain? Thanks a bunch!

  There is no easy way to downgrade. He must erase the drive and then reinstall OS X. First, you need a good backup. Or you can try the following:

  Since the upgrade to el captain, I had erratic behavior constantly with the keyboard when coming out of sleep mode. The keyboard will often freeze and will not let me type my security code. He types too often a lot, a lot, a lot of asterisks. (SE) audit will often require a HARD REBOOT. Really a bad situation, with a connected external hard drive.

  Once everything using Aperture 3, he picked up the arrow and moved through images on its own.

  I ran repair disk utility, and it reports good condition. Tech Apple had me start in safemode and it seemed any sort of software problem. Since safe mode I run again and he'll leave in SafeMode overnight.

  Update: I did troubleshooting. Started in safe mode. Back up to the Standard startup. Then started and reset the NVRAM aditional.

  NONE OF THIS HAS DONE ANY GOOD. But it has.

  When I try to put my security after the sleep code if the keyboard starts with a lot of asterisks, I found that if I turn off the keyboard and then turn again, I can get control of the process and put in my code.

  If that sounds like a hardware problem (same mother) or software? Remember that I mentioned in my initial post, I don't have this problem with the old macbook pro.

  I can only say that the latest security updates are installed when you upgrade to the latest version of Mac OS X. Now El Capitan. If you wait or not depends on if Apple releases always updates to security for the Mavericks, and if you install these updates.

  I was wondering if someone could help explain me this problem. I became more frustrated by the life of the battery from my mac. Now, to clarify, my Mac is still new, excellent condition, it loads the Apple way recommended and much more. I made sure no application consumes a large amount of energy until I posted this. My battery life was once 10 hours long, however, after update to El Captain a week ago, I noticed that my fan was extra hard work to keep and the duration of the battery, charge, was ONLY 4 HOURS! I am extremely frustrated and annoyed, I tried calling apple and I found that they were little help, so I would really appreciate if someone could help me. I am not blaming someone or something, but I just want to know if this problem will soon be resolved, or if I have to go to the apple store, which would be awkward, because I have multiple assignments to do, while on the go beyond.

  I've recently updated to El captain. (I know I'm a little backwards, but I fear there will be vital functions missing from Apple Apps - it's already happened)

  And since the upgrade, my documents are no longer automatic backup. Numbers, text editing, and Pages are all affected. Is this a known issue? Someone knows what to do to make it work again?
