Hey there,

Is it possible that I could upgrade this laptop, it's a good old classic, but I don't want to buy a new one thinking yet, if may be upgraded, unless it will cost more than a new

If there is anyway to upgrade of RAM and the processor for this particular model, what would be the maximum that I could get out? any chance at least 6 GB of RAM and processor intel i5/i7?

Hello

1. for RAM: your machine model (1070ed) is not in the list, but should be similar to the 1070ee, you will find information at the following link:

http://www.crucial.com/upgrade/HP-memory/Pavilion+dv7+series/Pavilion+dv7-1070ee-upgrades.html

You can buy from them or use the info to buy elsewhere.

2 for CPU: there is a maintenance & repair on the following link, the guide will show your supported processors:

I have baught a new portable computer and you want to install windows vista (32-bit) on a bootable partition that it will be possible to do it with windows 7 (64-bit)

the laptop contained Home Basic windows 7 (64-bit) and I want to install windows vista Home premium (32 bit) on a bootable partition that it will be possible to do or tell me the parallel method to move a certain 32-bit operating system...

I do not understand your question. If the laptop can run Windows Vista, it can probably run Windows 7 too.

To run Windows 7 64-bit, the processor must be a minimum Core 2 Duo.

    System requirements:

    * 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x 86) or 64-bit (x 64) processor

    * 1 gigabyte (GB) of RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)

  • RAM up grade hp pavilion dv7

    I have a HP pavilion dv7 - 4153CL

It has 4 gig of ram and can go up to 8 GB. What I've read, it's a few times you can get 16 gig if your Bios is up to date. Is this true and if so how I updated the Bios so I can run more ram?

    Hello

Pass in review Page 3 in your product manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02642701.pdf

Your laptop supports only up to 8GB.

There is nothing that can be done in the BIOS of your laptop to increase size.

If you plan on overclocking in the BIOS - to increase the speed of the RAM, which can also be done in this laptop,

Most of the laptops available for daily use is not configured for this.

This is correct information and Crucial is a great brand of memory. Crucial memory is guaranteed compatible memory when you use their memory finder. Take advantage of the 16 GB.

  • Upgrade Ram on a HP PAVILION DV7

Salvation was curious what kind of ram was ok to upgrade with.

I tried to look at the site of suppport for this question but was unsuccessful. However if I missed it please tell me the correct link

    My laptop is:

Description of the model: HP PAVILION DV7 - 6143CL

    Model number: LW181UA

    Running: Windows 7 64-bit

    I visited this site: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02863115

If it does, this is the page of the plug for my laptop.

It is said that it takes DDR3 and up to a maximum of 16 GB.

However when I look at the DDR3 memory for laptops, I find plenty of options in terms of speed and latency cases.

Modules of memory DDR3 SO-DIMM will work?

Or a period of latency, speed and all will be better for my system than the others?

    Thanks for all the help!

The upgrade is to go to the Web sites of memory well known manufacturers and see what they have to offer for your laptop. (Corsair, Crucial, Kingston and OCZ are a few well known memory andf respected manufacturers)

Do a Google search like I did to see what is available and find the market price. Once you know which specific modules are then you can contact the stores to see which ones they have.

    https://www.google.com/search?q=HP+PAVILION+DV7-6143CL+upgrade+memory&oq=HP+PAVILION+DV7-6143CL+upgrade+memory&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i64.7781j0j4&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=122&ie=UTF-8#q=hp+pavilion+dv7+ram+upgrade&revid=171357479

Purchase memory modules only well-known state of manufactured products is guaranteed compatible memory for your laptop. If you don't like that then you are taking a gamble.

If you try to upgrade by looking at the specifications document, so you will probably find that the memory modules that you choose will disappoint you and cause your laptop to not start Windows.

"DDR3 SO-DIMM memory modules will work?" They must be specific and have been tested with your laptop. That's how important memory manufacturers are able to guarantee compatibility with the module.

  • How to access and replace a pavilion dv7-3173nr cooling fan?

Pavilion dv7-3173nr member of my family had a cooling fan stop working. This has been noticed during my usual maintenance of it where I take a can of compressed air and spray to clean the fan. As he hit the air I was expecting the fan to turn but it did not. I've then turn it on to see if it would turn but it would turn still not. The warranty just missed in recent weeks and the manuals and other resources that I've found so far do not help. If someone could tell me how to access the fan for this model, it would be appreciated.

Yes, you can reinstall clean 32 bit vista

you need to get the sony vista recovery disc

    or use your recovery partition

It depends on how you install 64-bit whether if the recovery partition is left untouched or not

You can also reinstall the 32-bit version of this way

    borrow a microsoft dvd vista

Make sure that you borrow correct 32-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

ask also sony how to make this recovery partition recovery disks now before you go ahead and install the 64-bit vista

then you have reinstall disks for 32-bit vista

  • Update the motherboard and processor

Hi, I have a HP PC with a motherboard problem. (PC hangs and I can see several swollen capacitors) So since it must be replaced in any case I think I might as well upgrade the processor and the card mother together. The GPU and power supply are already upgraded.
How can I get a motherboard better which could be agreed in the case of HP?
And is there a way to know what the best MB/CPU combo is available which will always be compatible with my DDR2 RAM?

I'll appreciate any advice. Don't you think it's time for a new PC.  I will include the relevant specifications.

HP Pavilion Media Center m8430f desktop PC

    Motherboard manufacturer: Asus IPIBL-LB

    HP/Compaq name: Benicia-GL8E

    Micro-ATX: 24,5 cm (9.6 inches) x 24.5 cm (9.6 inches)

    Intel G33

CPU Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4 GHz
    Socket: 775
    Bus speed: 1066 MHz

    Thanks for the reply.

I installed my old GPU (Geforce 9800GTX) in this PC and things seem to work

a little better now. Maybe it was the new card BSODing my computer. Still I can see problems with the MB and do not know how much longer I have. So I still need to buy a new PC and could use some advise. I'm an older guy and my next PC will probably be my last so I'm worried about making a mistake.

I use my PC all day. Especially for playing video games and watching

movies and writing. I don't even have a TV. I use the computer for everything.
I tried to shop online for a PC for a while now. I used the

configurators to iBuyPower and CyberPower and I did research to build my own.
I have even a little in my cart to start HP right now. They all have their advantages

and disadvantages, but the main thing is that HP is the only one that I don't really trust.

I like this HP ENVY 700qe desktop PC. There the processor 'K '. He

is not a graphics card but compensates with 12 GB of RAM. I already have

a better graphics card that offers those HP is a good compromise to me.
I prefer Windows 7 Ultimate for Windows 8, so I'll change that right away. I have

already have a 7 license and can just pocket the 8 which is fine.
I would like to than the 256 GB SSD, but I think that their trade to the top is too expensive ($200) and

I can always do it later anyway.
I'm not too family with disk but cashing for $50, it's worth.
I don't know what a 15-in-1 multi slot card reader is but 6 USB ports must be better than 4, so I would choose this option.
I have better food they offer, but for $20, I'd get the 500W.

What do you think? What Miss me? And how do you like yours? You can get a better price if you shop somewhere other than HP Direct?

  • Is it useful to upgrade ram 8 GB - hp pavilion dv7 - 2043cl?

I'm looking for some advice about whether it would be useful to upgrade the RAM in my laptop 4 GB maximum of 8 GB.

I've had this laptop for over 5 years and I use it for games. I wonder if I will notice a difference in performance by simply upgrading the RAM, or if the processor speed, video card, etc., are or will be obsolete in the near future, and if I just save that money and put it to a new computer.

Here is the technical page of the computer: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01705991

Crucial lists kit upgrade for a little under $ 200.

    Hello:

If the 2 x 4 GB memory DDR2 was $60,00 as if it was a few years ago, I would say go for it.

But now that it's $200 and more, I recommend that you put that money towards a new laptop or a model renovated better than what you have, with DDR3 memory.

You will probably notice some performance improvement, but not $200.
