I've recently updated the bios of my computer because I can't use 1 RAM module
I waited for the bios to flash then shutted down and when I tried to turn it on it woulnt boot up... I had only a black screen and FAN running on LOW-END system... I romeved 1 Module RAM and gave it a try (with 1 single module of RAM) and it started and I shutted down the calculated and reinserted the Module of RAM (now with 2 RAM Modules) and it now it start again... Only, I can start my computer with 1RAM Module only...
Can someone help me?

It's very strange. Do you use original RAM modules that you got with your laptop?

    Hello!

I'm in a bit of a pickle. Because I used to update my bios from 1.0 to 1.20 Tempro, my fan runs constantly at aprox. 70% this IS REALLY BORING and I can not use my new computer at school because of this! I tried to search the bios 1.0 original, so that I could downgrade, hoping he could solve the problem, but that is not to be found anywhere =)
Will you please, please, please, and another 1000 times please, help me!

    Hello guys

When the new BIOS is available for former download is no longer available.
What you can do is to contact the nearest service Toshiba and ask for help. They have access to the database of Toshiba and can get the older version of BIOS for you.

I m quite pessimistic in this regard because Toshiba doesn't support the exchange of CPU or upgrade. I guess you know who. Do you have?

  • The update of the BIOS on Satellite Pro U400?

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro U400 (PSU41E) running Windows 7 x 64 and I try to update the BIOS to version 4.70 to 4.00.

Whenever I try to do it from Windows using WinPhlash which comes with the download on the Toshiba site it seems to freeze when you try to Flash the new BIOS.
I connected as the local administrator, tried to use other programs flash and even tried to do from a USB flash drive with no luck.

Can someone please help me and explain how do I update the BIOS?

    Hello

    > tried to use other flash programs
Never use other flash programs! In the worst case, you could damage the ROM module and then it must be replaced. Use only the program flash Toshiba that is tested and designed for laptop and the version of the BIOS.

The update of the BIOS program is also designed for Windows, it s a Windows Update program.

Satellite Pro U400 wasn t comes with Windows 7 so I guess you did your own installation. Value added package is required for the update of the BIOS program and can be downloaded on the European driver of Toshiba download page where is your laptop model:

  • Satellite R830-143 - update of the BIOS does not support this operating system

    Hello

I received a notification via Tempro that he did not have a BIOS upgrade. I downloaded the ZIP file (bios - 20120209125153.zip), extract the package (BIOS360_EC140_WIN.exe) and ran it according to the instructions.

The package runs, give the progress bar "extract files...". ", then displays a dialogue entitled"TOSHIBA BIOS package Ver.4.1.2"that says:"this package BIOS does not support this operating system."

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit on a Satellite 830R-143 with the short part No. PT32LE

Does anyone know what is the problem?

Thanks in advance for your help...

    Hello

You have problems with the laptop?
If not then why you want to do the BIOS? Just because the new BIOS is released?
I would not change anything if my laptop is running correctly.

However, the update of the BIOS requires the VAP (value added package).
So remember that this PPV is installed correctly. If this isn't the case, so far.

  • Satellite A110-180 - update of the Bios for Windows 7 and Linux

    Hello

I want to change the following settings in my bios on my laptop satellite A110-180
    * AHCI for SATA
    Disable the IDE

    But none of these options.
So I thought that maybe I should update my bios.
I found the download page, but there are 2 options: Windows Vista or NO vista, but I want to dual boot windows 7 and linux.

Which one should I download, or is there another option to change the settings?

    Thank you!
    Bart

    Hello

Satellite A110 does not support these options (SATA AHCI).
The update of the BIOS will not help you!

Linux is not supported and therefore, you will not find any special BIOS for Linux OS!

The two BIOS updates are for Win Vista or OS independent.
Therefore, if you use other than Vista OS then you should throw the update of the independent BIOS to the BONE!

But as mentioned above; both options will not appear after the BIOS update!

  • Satellite Pro C660 bricked by update of the BIOS that failed

My sister asked me to update his laptop (Toshiba Satellite Pro C660-16N; The part number PSC0ME-01S00SEN) of Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) of Windows 8 (64-bit).
    So I did.

Then I went UK from Toshiba Web site to check if there are any drivers I had to install for Windows 8. The only one was an update of the BIOS (for BIOS v1.70). I don't know what was the previous BIOS version number.

So I run the update application in Windows 8. Phoenix WinPhlash Technologies starts and then in the middle of the update, everything freezes.

The trackpad would not move the cursor or anything like that. I had no choice but to disconnect the phone from the wall and remove the battery. The laptop is not under warranty.

Of course, now it won't turn. It will beep once when I press the power button, but the system does not light. A few minutes later, it looks like one long beep and two short beeps. It then keeps repeating this sequence every two minutes "one long beep, 2 short beeps".

I google and read the site after the blog after the post on the forum, but nothing works. Links to the software offered on these forums/blogs/Web sites in french are usually dead, so I can't try what they suggest.

The most common solution is the Phoenix crisis recovery tool. I managed to download v1.0.0.4 which is supposed to allow me to make a bootable USB key. The version of this tool that I downloaded is supposed to be for a Lenovo ThinkPad X 200. I have the correct BIOS.rom to C660 Pro Satellite (I renamed BIOS.wph and copied to the appropriate folder).

I followed all the instructions, but it doesn't seem to work. Some sites say if it happens, I have the wrong version of phlash16.exe. Some other sites say that HP Boot Disk USB Utility should be used, but I don't know how to use it.

What I really need, is a definitive step by step foolproof guide to know what to do, with links to the files/tools to use for this model of laptop. I will follow this blindly (which I don't really understand what makes each step, I just do it with no understanding,) so if anyone can help me with this, please write a guide like an idiot!

If anyone can help me with this, I appreciate it. I'm really in a difficult situation - I can't really afford to pay a Toshiba ASP to fix it, and I can't afford a new laptop certainly. But I also couldn't bring myself to tell my sister, ' it's broken, deal!

    Thanks in advance.

  • Satellite Pro M70-113: is the update of the Bios as of 03/06/07 supports slic tables

    Hello
Maybe someone knows if the update of the bios for toshiba satellite pro m70-113, dated 03/06/07 supports slic tables or not?
    For vista oem installation dvd?

    Thank you...

You will not be able to find info accurate on the BIOS and what exactly is supported or not. If you just want to install Vista on your M70 I can just say that I installed Vista Ultimate on my Satellite M70-159 (PSM71E) without any problem.

  • The update of the BIOS for Satellite Pro M70 does support TPM?

    Hello

There was an update of the bios that is specially designed for Vista... = bios-vista - 510win.zip on the Toshiba site...

Although my Satellite Pro M70-113 did not support the default TPM module (BIOS verson 1.1, I always have this), is it possible that this update includes the TPM secure to enable bitlocker on vista?

Can someone check and confirm please... :)

And secondly, is configuration BIOS update for Windows utility saves the current state of the BIOS in some external as backup media, while if it happens with the process of update... the previous version can be restored in return?

And a BIOS may be downgraded?

    Thank you.

    Hello

(1.) I m not 100% sure but I think the new BIOS for the M70 does not support the TPM secure. I read somewhere that all BIOS versions that support TPM on Toshiba laptops cannot be updated by a common user, but the user must contact the authorized Toshiba service provider for these updates.
That's why I think that Toshiba would not any BIOPS version by download issue if this BIOS would support the TPM.

2.) now something about the second question:
The new BIOS version replaces the old BIOS and BIOS States and to my knowledge it of not possible to save the settings for a backup more later.
Generally, you must be careful with any update of the BIOS. Bad BIOS or bad update procedure may damage the jury!

THANK YOU NOW AND WAIT FOR YOUR ANSWER

    Hello

Seems that something was wrong during the update of the BIOS
For me it s really amazing because something like that never happened to me and I have updated the BIOS very often

What to say that you will need additional assistance of Toshiba ASP. I think that the ROM module must be flashed once more using a disc of crisis.

  • Satellite L750-201 - problem with update of the BIOS - preparation for Win 8

I have a L750-201 and is eligible for Windows 8. Currently Windows 7.
I thought that I would update to the BIOS (latest version 2.6) in the latest version (3.6), which has some relevant changes to Windows 8, I understand.

I have downloaded the BIOS update file and run. I had several options. One of them was to make the update of Windows, and another was to create a boot CD to do at STARTUP.
I created the CD and rebooted the machine with it. Everything seemed fine, but when the time came to Flash the bios I got the message about the battery must be greater than 10% and the power adapter is connected. If the BIOS update has refused to start.

The problem is the battery was 100% or almost that I had just fully charged it. The power adapter is and powered. So whence the utility to update the BIOS get his info that the dough was less than 10%?
I saw similar posts from other people, but the problem was usually that the battery was in fact less than 10% and that it was not charging. This isn't the case here.

No matter, I thought, I can update the other sense through the windows.
So I started the machine and took the Windows Flash utility. The system gave me the warning usual as planned and then rebooted the machine. He went directly in windows with the "Welcome" splash screen, and then stopped a few moments, then went to a black screen with just the pointer in the middle. I assumed it was something like the fairly active enjoy car light. However, after an age, nothing was. I could go back to the login screen by pressing the power button / standby machine and then turning it back on. My user has been locked, but I could shut down the computer and restart normally. Nothing serious happened. The machine starts very well and Windows does not normally, but BIOS remains unchanged.

Anyone have any idea how to get the update of the BIOS to work? Seems I have to bypass the battery check or why BIOS thinks a battery of 100% is less than 10%.

I have a L750-201 and is eligible for Windows 8. Currently Windows 7.
I thought that I would update to the BIOS (latest version 2.6) in the latest version (3.6), which has some relevant changes to Windows 8, I understand.

L750-201 satellite is part of the PSK6ME series.
I wonder where you found the BIOS v3.60 for this device?
The latest version of the BIOS seems to be v 2.80 - WIN

So from my point of view you try update BIOS INCORRECT.

  • Satellite A210-15Y crashed during the update of the bios

The worst case has happened and the laptop computer crashed during an update of the bios. I know that there is the possibility to repait the bios with a tool of recovery from crisis. For this purpose you have to press 2 keys (in most cases FN + B or Win + B) during the connection of the supply cable and the next start. I tried many books, but nothing happened. Can someone tell me the keys on which I have to press a 210 - 15Y satellite and maybe where I can get an image of cd of the tool of the crisis, because the laptop does not have a floppydrive?

    Hello

As far as I know that the BIOS crisis procedure may be crazy by a technician of the ASP.
You can not download a version of traditional BIOS who can update the BIOS from a USB FDD floppy.
You can download only focused on the victory of the BIOS that can be run so that windows operating system is running.

In my opinion, you should get in touch with a local ASP!
