Update of uncertainty

I have a HP Pavilion Notebook 15-n243cl running on Windows 8.1.

Check the drivers and the software, I see there's an HP Notebook System BIOS (AMD processors) update to F.15 I'm not sure. My current BIOS is Insyde F.15 and I have an AMD processor. I fear that a mistake would happen if I try to change my BIOS. If the update is indeed Insyde, so I wouldn't be concerned, but it does not. Can I update or leave my only BIOS?

In addition, there is a graphics driver that I'm not sure: AMD graphics driver high definition (HD). I have the AMD Radeon HD 8610 G, and one of the pilots of that name is supported by the present. That is this driver for? Do I need?

The updated HP Notebook System BIOS ver. F.15 (AMD processors) which is located on the support page for the driver for your computer is the same as what is currntly on your computer. Both are version F.15 and therefore are the same... no need to flash it again.

The graphics driver AMD high definition (HD) updates the AMD HD ver 13.251.3.0 graphics driver, corrections

"a show where the function F2 and F3 keys don't not adjust brightness correctly on a system which takes over from the mode standby when the display mode is changed to double mode display mode only PC screen before the system enters standby mode." and supports AMD Radeon HD 8280, AMD Radeon HD 8330, AMD Radeon HD 8400 and AMD Radeon HD M 8670.

  • Update iTunes 10 Windows problem and Solution

I have a solution that worked for me, when Apple's CEO did not all trying to update iTunes 10 Windows.  I do not claim that their solution was bad, just that it has not resolved the problem for me, but lead me to the solution that did.

The problem I had was that during the update, I would like to get the package of Windows error message that wouldn't let him proceed in process.  "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A program required for this install to complete could not be run.  Contact your supplier of staff or the package of support ".

THE SOLUTION: click on the Windows icon and go to settings > system > applications and features.  Click on Apple software update > change > change > repair

Once the repair has been completed, I was able to install iTunes without any problems.

How I found this solution: I tried the recommendation to Apple for this message exact error uninstall and reinstall iTunes, who had the same error message.  The next step was to uninstall QuickTime and iTunes, then the Apple Software Update.  At this point, the Apple software update wouldn't uninstall and generated the same error of Windows package as described above.  I fixed Apple Software Update and rather than proceed with the rest of the facilities, I advanced and installed iTunes.  He worked like a champ and he saved me a bunch of times.

    Thanks Airshipguy. It really worked.

I have not tried all the recommendations of Apple support, being out of pocket for the time and also the uncertainty of losing the settings. Before you read this post, I tried to repair only iTunes. After reading the post above, I fixed all facilities Apple in a sequence such that the last of them was that of "Apple Software Update". I made this sequence intuitively and have no scientific reason.

For those who need to be more aware of 10 Windows, right click the windows button, select "Programs and features" and then search for Apple. As indicated in the post above, it's the "Apple Software Update" that did the trick.

My response was to reassure people that it works. Often, a single post does not give that confidence to give it a go!

  • Unable to turn on windows update

Original title: Virus WINDOWS UPDATE and REGISTRY FIX

I noticed the other day that my computer, Windows Update will not turn back, regardless of what I do? After trying several times, several things, I was told it was a virus, specifically a virus of registry. I'm trying to find a way to repair my registry. What is the best program I should use? I tried several programs of 'free' so-called but am exhausted to the uncertainty of all of these programs. They find problems 800-1000 and then deliver the punchline... to pay me and we'll fix them.  First of all, I have to pay? and if I have to pay... which one is that I have to pay?

If you replaced the HARD disk "earlier this year", you would have to do a clean install of Windows as well as MSE , but you said you don't do that. The fact that MSE has been installed on 21 April 2011 (to not not 'this year') confirms that you don't.

That being said, can you restore an Image instead of doing one installs clean.

However, my previous post is still standing.

REPOST: Chances are you see the effects of an ongoing "hijackware' infection, perhaps aggravated by a rootkit infection!

Based on your responses to this subject, there are 2 two possible explanations for this situation: (a) your misguided use of registry cleaners and/or (b) does not completely remove the Norton software before installing MSE on April 21, 2011.

In fact, chances are the computer is already infected when you installed MSE because none of these other updates are installed (which were released before installing MSE).

  • Problems with Windows Update 8.1.

    Hello

I understand I have to install Win 8.1 and I also understand that I will have to re - install a bunch of stuff once again, including a second language (Hebrew in my case).

I am happy with the tiles and not interested in the start menu classic. Can I keep the tiles?

I use Chrome as Internet browser, which will be after installing 8.1 W? What is my favorites?

As for Word 2007? I don't remember the registration code. Do I have to re - install?

It's really annoying that all kinds of programs/applications will have to be resettled ~ a lot of time and energy must be spent.

looking for files on the net, d/l, installation exe.

    It's a very boring question!

I would like to receive advice on my questions, thank you!

    Greetings from Dorith

Haven't you * have * to install Windows 8.1.  You should if you want to continue to receive updates after some time in late 2015...  You don't have to install the update Windows 8.1 (from April 2014) either.  You should if you want to continue to receive updates for your Windows 8.1 system already after June 2014.

No current updates to get rid of the Menu screen start (tiles) at all.  Don't know what the worry is there.  No current updates include a return (or same option for) the traditional Windows XP through Windows 7 Start Menu button.

Chrome is still usable on Windows 8.1 and after updating Windows 8.1 (from April 2014) - I don't expect that to change.  So is Firefox and Opera.  You can set ONE of them as your default browser, etc.

Windows 8 for Windows 8.1 upgrade and/or update of the update of the Windows 8.1 (from April 2014) should have NO EFFECT on your install programs such as those you mentioned.  Products of Microsoft Office 2007, Google Chrome, etc.  Modernization and updating are just that - in-place.  All your requests and such should remain intact and everything you've heard the contrary was false or bad luck.

That being said - with ANY change to a computer (including the turn just turned off/lit) - backups remain the best protection.  Before making any changes that you control like these (especially when they change the underlying BONE) - perform a full backup of the system - an IMAGE backup if possible - of media EXTERNAL which will NOT be connected to the system for the change itself.  It's just wise.

In short, I think your boredom has more things that are simply not true that all reality of the situation.  Rumors and FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt)... nothing more.  I hope that this response can put your mind at ease and you listen and follow the advice given here and then proceed thereafter as a positive experience.

    Look at this article also:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/update-from-Windows-8-tutorial

    Side note:

You must keep a record of all your product keys and serial numbers and a backup copy of the installation media for your products.  In this case, given what you have, especially your Microsoft Office Word 2007 documents.  You should take note of your product key and have the installation media for it in a safe place off the computer in question - because anything CAN (and sometimes do) happen.

You can use something like this product:

    ProduKey

    ... or this product:

    Belarc Advisor

... to collect and record information about your system.

The first would give you the product keys for some of your products installed - but certainly Microsoft Office Word 2007.  Save the installation media (files, etc.), it is up to you.  An external hard drive, USB, CD key, DVD, etc... all excellent choices.

This last would also give you some serial numbers and product keys for your products installed (Yes, Microsoft Office Word 2007 included) and you should always back up your own copy of the installation media - but it also lists system specifications so that you can print the results and know later what is your video card, your processor , your understanding of memory, the chipset of your motherboard, you network card, etc.  All the things you need to know to troubleshoot or to upgrade or even rebuild the system from scratch.

Just another way to protect your stuff.

If you actually still Windows 8 (not 8.1) - here's a tutorial on the provision of a full backup of the external support system image:

If you have Windows 8.1 and you're just worried about the Windows 8.1 (from April 2014) update - here's how to make a complete picture of the backup system:

  • Windows 8 Chinese prc language is updated to the English display language

    Hello

    I have a lenovo yoga 11 s running windows 8.
I think I have the 8 unique language edition windows Chinese PRC
I'm in China, and also the computer was purchased here.
The display language is in Chinese and I want to change it to English.
Should I update to Windows 8 pro or 8.1 update will allow me to download the English language pack?
If I update to 8.1 still should I update 8.1 pro for the language pack?
How to make one of these?
I can't update to 8.1 by the store windows, the option is not there.
How the 07:52 pro windows updates cost?
    Thanks for your help!

For all the foreigners living in China who want to have Windows 8 English I highly recommend to do as described below. It will add the cost of a license of Windows 8 Pro Pack, but will save you hours of waiting, of discussions, resettlement and uncertainty.

Windows 8 CPP that comes pre-installed on all computers OEM in China is locked with simplified Chinese only to the language of the OS.

You can buy Windows 8 Pro Pack, which upgrades the CPP of 8 Windows preinstalled on your new computer to a full-blown Windows 8 Pro with Media Center

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/feature-packs

Pack Windows 8 Pro can be purchased online from China, and you can pay with Paypal

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/terms-conditions-feature-packs

Windows 8 Pro has all the features to download and add language packs.

Start the upgrade using the following screenshots

    http://winsupersite.com/Windows-8/Windows-8-release-preview-add-features-Windows-8

You will need an address in China and turn off your VPN before you start the upgrade.

There is only one choice of product to buy the Windows 8 Pro Pack.

The update took a few hours of downloading so start at night and sleep at home.

After the upgrade you have Windows 8 Pro with Media Center always configured with Chinese as their main language.

You need then download and install the English language according to these screenshots pack

    http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/5850-language-pack-install-uninstall-Windows-8-a.html

The US English language pack is 154 MB and may take a few hours to download as well.

Restart, then return to the screen of language making English as your primary language, as described in these screenshots

Since I did the update (10.0.2) I can no longer just "trash all ' mail inbox (Verizon).  Because I get emails 300 + a day, I need to be able to empty my Inbox easily without deleting all of them individually.  It is very irritating and time consuming.

  • Uninstall software update Apple says error in seller contact package package unstaller

Try to get itunes working to make a backup of my faulty iphone before repair.

First-itunes does not start says error. I'm trying to fix it, who said success but same error when you try to start it.

Then uninstall completely worked. Then reinstall that seemed to be over except for a message "an older version of Apple software update already exists" then he went down and install itunes apparently had not been completed.

Then I try to remove the update from the apple software and executed by an error in the installation program - it says there is an error in the installation and contact the supplier of the installation package. Same error if I run the uninstall command line program.

Try to repair the Apple Software Update of programs & features Control Panel and then try to update iTunes again.

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.

The more information box has direct links with the current and recent if you have problems to download, must revert to an older version or want to try the version of iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) as a workaround for problems with installation or operation, or compatibility with third-party software.

Backups of your library and device should be affected by these measures but there are links to backup and recovery advice there.

Since the update for Sierra, Messages no longer displays Contact names - only phone numbers.  No instructions on how to remedy this.  Ideas?

    Hello

Go into the Contacts application and ensure that it uses the same account synchronization like the iPhone and other devices you may be using.

Also check the part of the accounts of the Contacts application preferences and make sure that it's only using one account.

  • USB disabled after the update of the Sierra (a short circuit and a work)

Hi, when I bought my mbp 13 inches mid2012 (used, not new) I noticed that a USB port did not work. In the Yosemite sometimes I noticed that a USB port consumed too much energy and have been disabled. (I think because the usb port has been short-circuited. Year when it was time to update the mbp to El Capitan I had a few panic the kernel and the newspaper was shown as the last driver loaded the USB driver, so I kept the mbp with Yosemite. A few days ago, I updated for Sierra but only usb which used to work stopped working. It has enabled and turned on but Finder and disk utility does not see the drive. In an Apple dealer they said that could be established relationships with some oxide and next week will take it and see what the problem is.

If there is someone with the same problems, please tell me what to do! I don't want to put in the trash my mac just for a flash drive... but I need!

    Hi Supermene,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support. Based on what you said, it appears as a USB device is not recognized in one of the USB ports. There are a few things that can cause this. I recommend you read these articles, which may be able to help solve the problem.

macOS Sierra: If a USB device does not work

Reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac.

  • I can't go to my bookmarks after update for Sierra

I have a MacBook Pro. I just updated this week to Sierra with no problems, but now when I click on multiple points in the upper left corner to reveal my favorites and my playlist only, it displays the top sites page and does not open my favorites and reading list, as it used to.

Can someone tell me how to access my bookmarks and playlist in the Sierra? I'm sure it's something in the settings or something escapes me. My Bookmark Bar is the top of the page, yet. I can't find my bookmarks and reading list.

    Thank you

I thought about it, I had to go to Favorites on top and tell Safari to display in the Sidebar again.

  • Calendar Apple App Bug frozen works only with iOS 10 update grrr

Since I updated to iOS 10 (more more later than 10.2, etc.), everything was not too bad except THE APPLE CALENDAR app, its deiving me crazy when I click on the app it's like it freezes and past shift x 50 mode still something to do with the calendar app will cause either a frozen or a black screen or white and then crashed ack to main menu. Sometimes it will allow me to create but will be trolling with typing and finally crashed or not even save it... Please HELP I am sure what else to do, I tried to download google calendar and which seemed to have something of bug he loves too then something happens. And I tried to delete it and download it again, / force delivery, nothing has changed

    Hi there calsparks!

Thank you for bringing your question on the calendar of freezing and trolling since the update to iOS 10 on your iPhone for Apple Support communities.  I rely on the calendar to keep my life organized, so I'm happy to help you resolve this issue today.

Looks like you did a few good troubleshooting by force to leave the app, force to restart the iPhone and deleting and reinstalling the application calendar.  At this stage my next recommendation would be to backup your iPhone, then erase and restore your iPhone as a new device, then test calendar to see if it behaves correctly, and then restore your backup.

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings
