How to prevent the automatic updates
How to prevent the automatic updates which closes the window and restart the computer in Windows 7, Vista OP? I'm usually right in the middle of something when this happens.
Hello
change how to get updates to allow you to choose what you and when you install to stop it happening again
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial140.html
Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.
Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

I have Version 5.1.10 (6534.59.10) of safari on my macbook pro and I want to update. How to make to make it so my computer displays no update available?
Safari is a part of Mac OS X, and the only way to obtain a more recent version is upgraded to El Capitan.
Lion and Mountain Lion can be bought at the Apple Store but 10.11.2 is a free update.

I have Lightroom 4.4 on my Mac laptop. It came with the purchase of a Leica camera. When I check the updates, the answer is that there is no update available. Download Version 5.7 of Adobe's Web site with no problems?
Your license for the 4.4 release will not work with version 5.7, you can download it without doubt, but if you do not have version 5.7 download then it won't do much good. If you do not have a license for it so you won't be able to use it beyond use of the trial.

I tried to use a tool of shmetsy.com for Etsy. I couldn't use it because of my version of Firefox - 3.6.23
I went 'On Mozilla Firefox' to check the updates and got the message "there is no update available"I don't know what versions of Firefox work with Shmetsy. They have a page system requirements? It is not in the very short FAQ...
You have later in the line of 3.6.
If you want Firefox 7, go to http://www.mozilla.org/firefox to get the installation program.
Normally, the major updates go without a hitch, but just in case, I recommend to backup your Firefox settings to cover you in the rare case that something is not going. See your backup information. (You can copy your profile folder Firefox together somewhere outside the Mozilla folder).

Software BlackBerry software update available (q10) - is it a known problem
BlackBerry link reports that there is a software update available for my Q10. It shows the 10.1.0.2030 version is available. But this version is already on my device. Is this a known bug that BB-Link is not check that version is already installed on the device?
That's exactly right. I had deleted one of the pre-installed applications. I moved the app restored in a unused applications folder as you suggested. Disconnection and reconnection to BB-Link, is more which indicates that an updated version is underway. Thank you.

Original title: security
My computer shows a yellow exclamation mark on the windows defender icon in the notification area, I trobleshooted to open it and and I discovered that is outdated, so I chose the update now, but he says it is not definitions or updates available, my system at risk? I suppose Yes, so someone could help me solve this problem?
Hello
If you use Norton, AVG, Avira, Microsoft Security Essentials, McAfee, etc. the default action is for Windows Defender must be disabled, that these AntiVirus programs have their own Antispyware Applications.
There is nothing to worry.
Using both programs at the same time can cause system conflicts, etc.
If you are using one of the above AntiVirus programs, this Information from David O - Support Engineer shows you how to manually enable Windows Defender (disregard information from uninstalling; not possible in Vista):
"Go to start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. Look for Windows Defender.
Right click and select Properties , ensure that Startup Type is automatic.
Once modified, click apply and OK.
Quit and restart your computer. Check the back take the same path to confirm that Windows Defender has started"
.
If you want to have additional protection against malware using the version FREE of Malwarebytes AntiMalware:
http://www.Malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
And for now, change startup Vista programs without using Defender, use one of these methods:
"How to use MSCONFIG in Windows Vista"
http://netsquirrel.com/Msconfig/msconfig_vista.html
Or the program Autoruns for FREE:
"V11.21 Autoruns for Windows"

FF37.02 does not update available
When I check in the doalog on Firefox, it told me that I was using 37.02 FF and that there is no update available. But the Secunia PSI has been insisting on the fact that there is an update to FF38. So I searched and found there is a update available, I have now installed.
Why FF not told me there was an update when I checked? This has already happened several times and only resolved by a manual check by me.
I am running Windows 8.1 64-bit.Mike,
Many of us test pre-release versions of Firefox - so 'human' test is involved. Basically, there are three stages of development of 6 weeks for each new version of Firefox. Every night (Central_ - then Aurora (aka developer) - then beta phase - before reaching the release. I think that Mozilla needs more users of beta tester. You're up to?
https://www.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/channel/The issue that caused the closure of Firefox 38.0 and brought us to 38.0.1 - https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/38.0.1/releasenotes/ - one of the three subjects lacking 38.0.
"Systems with NVidia Optimus graphics cards first generation may crash at startup"-from what I've read in the case of dyslexia with a name of the Nvidia DLL, it was spelled wrong and none of the beta-testers caught or reported it. Fortunately, Mozilla had strangled Firefox 38.0 to 25% on the first days after liberation (a common practice) and turn it off when they realized that there is a problem.Personally, I ran nightly versions as my main browser of 2004 thru 2010, bug report I found them and confirming bugs when the bug has already been reported, but not yet confirmed. I took a 'hiatus' of tests like Firefox 4 via Firefox 10 - too many changes that I didn't like. I used Opera until they went to WebKit, as well as a few different browsers based on Gecko which were built from code in Firefox, as well as the use of Firefox 3.6.28 until long after the end of support.
With Firefox 10 I entered 'testing' - three pre-release Beta, Aurora and nightly until Firefox 29 hit each of the 4 steps. My old PC just couldn't handle the Australis versions, in addition to my disliking the new user interface; so, I stuck with Firefox 28 until last month when I built a new PC. -
