Update still holding

Received yesterday new laptop computer with windows 7 starter. Went on line last night & all right. Today I got a message in the sense of "when you next start your computer Windows will install updates.

Stop & started the machine and went to do something else.

Currently, there is a background on the screen, the 'busy' circle spinning & the following message: Please do not power off or unplug your machine. Installation of update 37 43.

There is a small hard drive activity (not much), but there was no change at all to the message at least the last 2 hours. Rebooted the machine a few hours & haven't looked for messages.

There are no icons on the screen & mouse does not work. What should I do? Fortuneately I created recovery disks yesterday.

Finally after another hour or 3 I removed the battery (was the only way out) and then restarted. After that 2nd reboot starts & it seems to work OK!

Now look at Linux :-)
