  If you are sure that you have chosen the right BIOS for this series of cell to 100%, the problem must be related to a missing Toshiba software that is needed to update the BIOS.

  You may need to give your machine a service partner to let them fix this, because it sounds like a serious problem. One of my clients had a similar problem with a non-toshiba machine and it was a corrupted bios. I Don t know if it is in this case a corrupt bios, but it s definitely a problem that must be solved by a technician.

The HP Support Assistant is usually set on install updates, as appropriate, on a weekly basis.  I took a glance at the available on the web portal of suport BIOS updates in the section downlolad. I saw that in May there were six the available BIOS updates. I highly recommend that you turn off the automatic updates in Suport of tune.  Who will take care of the issue and put control of your laptop in your hands.

  On the BIOS Toshiba download page you can download the version of WIN. This means once downloaded BIOS, you must run it under Windows running as all other applications.
  By the way: is there a reason to update the BIOS? Have you noticed any problems with your machine?

  I just downloaded bios update of the toshiba site for portage r600 for my model number (bios update 1.80 - winner), I unzip the zip, run the exe, but error popup came:

  Current BIOS version: Ver.1.40

  So my question is what am I doing wrong? I'm trying to update my bios from windows.

  You cannot update the BIOS by using the windows server 2008 Enterprise Edition x 64

  So, I cancelled the update procedure. But I like to keep my system uptodate!

  Windows Bit locker drive BitLocker is a data protection feature that is available ONLY in Windows Vista Enterprise, Windows Vista Ultimate and Windows Server 2008.

  If you don t have one of these versions of Vista, then a Bilocker is NOT available on your preinstalled system!

  With regard to the update of the BIOS;
  I'm always that notice; never change a running system; so, if the laptop works properly and without problem a BIOS update is not necessary that s my personal opinion

  To be honest I doubt a problem to update the BIOS because I found other threads where users report that BIOS update was successful.

• Tecra 8000, update the bios

  I do not have a disk station and I can't update bios 9.10 at 9: 30 a.m. - trad. I made a boot cd with the update of the bios, initiated from this cd and started the .exe. The program starts and asks you the .bin file and I typed it correctly. The update seems to be made and it recharges cell phones, but the bios is always 9.10.
