Update Windows KB936330 says it installed, but it isn't there
Windows update says it successfully installed SP1 (KB936330) but is not here, it is not listed on the system information page or my list of files in the Panel. It appears only in my history as being successfully installed update. So I then tried to install manually and I said the file doesn' work on my OS, I am running Windows Vista Home Premium, this is a re - install after installing a new hard drive. HELP, PLEASE! I've tried everything.
Hi, Greg.
Go to start > right click on computer
Select Properties
If service pack 1 is installed, it will be displayed
When you installed new hard disk, you use the manufacturer's recovery media? Look on the label of the CD. He can tell the system recovery of Windows Vista Home Premium SP1. If so, it is installed.

Hey there. I recently did a factory reset and now I can't seem to install service pack 1... It says its installed but when I search for new upates I get the same so far again and again and again. any ideas?
I don't think it is a good update of the service pack, a because it was only 1.9 MB, but every once its installed, I look for new updates and get the same thing. its driving me crazy. I can't keep getting my system at a speed without this service pack
Hi Jools101,
You can try the following steps and check if it helps:
Method 1:
You can check the update history if the Service pack is installed or not. If impossible to install, then checkfor codes error.
a. click Start, all programsand then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.
b. on the Windows Update Web site or on the Microsoft Update Web site, click view update history. A window opens that displays the updates that have been installed or that have failed to install on the computer.
c. double-click the update has failed to check the error codes.

Windows says that my copy is authentic, but update Windows 10 says that it is not
I built my PC myself four years ago and have not had any problems with the copy of Windows 7 Pro that I bought, until I started trying to pass to Windows 10 free. The update of Windows 10 says that I need to activate my copy of Windows 7.
However, when I right click on computer and click Properties, it says "Windows is activated." I was wondering if the copy I bought was not official, so I downloaded the Microsoft Genuine Advantage diagnostic tool. He also says that my copy is genuine.
What can I do to solve this problem, or I can get a new key of Windows 7 and can reactivate somehow my copy of Windows 7 Pro? Thank you.

Running Fix It I got the following response: Windows Update configured to never install drivers. But I have my settings of update to be downloaded and installed automatically. I got the settings a few minutes ago cheked. Please, I don't understand this. Thanks for any help.
juantxu.
When Windows Update set to automatically install updates, device drivers are NOT included.
Device drivers are OPTIONAL and you must make a conscious effort to go to this article of WU and check them off the coast. It is NEVER a good idea to get the driver of WU. The best place for drivers is the device manufacturer's Web site...

After upgrade to Windows 7 - printer is installed, but nothing prints
I see some posts with people who say that their printer is installed, but when they try and printing is queued for the print spooler and then disappears, or they say they can print a test page for the HP software but nothing prints.
Most of these people seem to have migrated from another version of Windows to Windows 7, and they have configurations and different printers.
Through testing, we found that this fix works.
How to fix
- Unplug the printer if it is connected via a usb cable.
- Click the icon and select all programs.
- Select the HP folder, and then select the printer and select Uninstall
- Once the uninstall is complete, select devices and printers
- Click on another printer or Microsoft XPS Document Writer
- Click on the printer server properties in the top menu
- Choose the drivers to the installed printer drivers , select the printer that has been uninstalled in step 3.
- Click Remove and when we asked him to choose to remove the driver and driver package and click ok.
- Install the Windows 7 software for the printer.
I would like to say a big thank you to all who have posted on this subject with the details of their facilities, etc. This information has helped me make this fix.
Thank you

Hello everyone,
In my view, there are many people who seem to have a similar problem to mine, although I was unable to find an answer to one of my questions in this post.
Description of the problem:
Although my Windows Update is defined on download & install updates during the night hours every day, the latest updates, KB26333880, KB2572073and KB2518864 are not be installed. I went to the Windows Update site to check my editing history. He showed the green/white checkmarks next to all 3 updates. The record also showed that updates have been tempted 3 times during the night. After clicking on the button "Express" on the Home Page, the results show 3 above updates, but show "0 bytes', then '0 download time. '
To me, this indicates that there is no update to download, despite the yellow Shield of Notification of update continues to appear in the taskbar.
Corrective measures attempted:
1. I tried to download / install twice unsuccessfully using IE8 and FF (including restarting the computer).
2. download & run the program MS Fixitattempted, but received a message which read, "an unexpected error has occurred, please try again later." No. error code has seen with this message. (I could RECORD the program on my desktop... just couldn't run the establishment).
3 tried to search for the presence of these updates using start > run > %windir%KB###.log (where the # is the individual number of update KB). Every time - a message appears indicating that the file is not found.
4 looked at the Add/Remove Programs list (with the Show updates checkbox checked). No updates KB mentioned above could be found.
5 with SAS, MBAMand Outpost Security Suite Pro scans revealed no malware/security issues. (SAS and MBAM are used only as scanners on request).
This problem with the updates does not download & repeated notifications being indicated in the taskbar has occurred many times before. On this occasion, I called Microsoft several times before finally, my computer remotely accessible support person and spent about 50 minutes to fix the problem.
(Also, it is noted that almost every support person I spoke with has always tried to tell me that MS is not help with the problem of this type.) I had to be rather several in my reply... tell the person that MS IS in fact provide assistance free security-related Windows updates. They now provide free assistance is unknown). Besides... I have more a phone number for States anyway.
My questions to the community:
1. is it possible to download & install these 3 updates?
2 is there an explanation as to why MS Fixit program will not be installed, and if so, are there certain corrective measures I can take which will allow me to download & run this program?
System Specs:
Desktop Dell Dimension 3000 Tower; WIN XP Pro SP3. 2 GB OF RAM; 3.00 gHz CPU; Outpost Security Suite Pro. MBAM Pro (on request only). SAS (on request only); SpywareBlaster; IE8 & FF
Thank you for your time and help, review!
Pete C.

I have Home Basic installed but I also have to setup for ultimate diskettes. I can still improve? How '.
original title: without any time update, how do I install UltimateNot without a product key for ultimate. If you have the product key for Ultimate, you can then use the ultimate dvd to upgrade. If both are 32-bit or both are 64-bit, you can start Windows, insert the dvd into the drive and the splash screen click install now. Enter your product key. When asked choose install upgrade.
If you have 32-bit basic family and 64 bit Ultimate Windows you must start the computer with the dvd and then proceed as above, except that YOU choose Custom Install when asked. In this case your programs and data will be deleted in a folder Windows.old and you need to reinstall your programs and data. Register files and settings with Windows Easy Transfer before you start. Once the installation is complete and you have reinstalled your programs, run Windows Easy Transfer to retrieve your files and settings.
You can buy is no longer a key using Anytime Upgrade in Vista. This program is interrupted.
Remember that Vista Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium and Ultimate out of Microsoft support on 10 April and there will be more updates, including critical security patches after that date. Only Vista business and company will continue to receive updates. You might consider this a good time to upgrade to Windows 7.

Updated Windows 8 do not install on restored factory new facility.
I recently factory to restore a computer, which was installed with Windows 8. I tried repeatedly, apply updates Windows 8 to be able to install Windows 8.1
What baffles me, is how installs it fail on a computer 'brand new '. It is without anything installed after the factory restore. Whenever I try to apply the updates, I get the message "failed Windows Setup updates. Restoration of the changes. Do not turn off your computer. »
I tried to install updates by using the boot option, ran the update problems (claims the problems have been fixed), with and without the (Norton) antivirus running, tried sfc/scannow (no problem), chkdsk /r (no problem), memory (memory tested fine) test, drivers updated, deleted the software AMD catalyst without success.
All by performing the updates, only the mouse and software (wire, wireless not) are connected to the computer. I tried all the possible solutions I found in the forums to find a solution. I don't understand how a facility, which is supposed to be direct from the factory, can not install updates. Is it possible to apply all updates, such as service packs earlier, or install Windows 8.1 without having first apply updates?
If it helps, it's a HP Pavilion 20, with a processor AMD E1-1200, 4 GB RAM, 64-bit Windows 8.

The problem is the 8.1 Windows deployment by the Windows store is just buggy, leading to problems during installation and reduced performance. Also, you are using an HP printer, and therefore its probable that the original image has a lot of bloatware pre-installed which does not help. The particular system you have purchased must have also taken some time to sell because most of the systems were sold with Windows 8.1 opposed to 8 for some time.
You are advised to clean the Windows 8.1 with 1 update installation directly, ignoring all the hassle of upgrading to Windows 8.1 via the Microsoft Store. To prepare a Windows 8.1 with 1 FAT32 USB Bootable update a UEFI BIOS and GPT partition scheme, see here:
