  With OSX 10.8.5, you can not update beyond Lightroom 6.1. So, you'd have to update your operating system to install 6.6.1 and use effectively.

  You should probably uninstall Lightroom and reinstall Lightroom 6 to use Lightroom at all.

  Install Photoshop Lightroom

  You can use the FREE Adobe DNG Converter to convert the D500 RAW to DNG and then use them in Lightroom 6.

  You copy what you downloaded to a flash drive and bring it to the other computer. On the other computer that you want to update, run the installer, and who would update Lightroom on this computer. You wouldn't have Lightroom running while you are trying to update.

• Impossible to update Lightroom 6.1.1

  I'm unable to update Lightroom 6.1.1 on my laptop.  I have not had a problem in the past with Lightroom 4 and 5.

  I start the process of update and when it is at 49% completed, the message ! Update failed - more information appears.

  When I click on learn more a small box appears with the message:

  Update failed

  There was an error of installation of this update.  Please try again later or contact customer support. (U44M11216)

  So I try again, and then a little same dialog box appears with the message:

  Update failed

  Download error.  Press Retry to try again, or contact customer support. (49)

  Every time I press retry the same message is displayed after a few seconds.

  I tried the solution given by Akash Sharma, on 5 August, without success.

  You are using internet security/firewall/antivirus software? If so try to disable temporarily during the update and enable it again after installation.

  Also try patching one of these download links.

  You can switch to Lightroom 4 of Lightroom 2 (upgrade price is lower that the price of the version full). You will however need the serial number for Lightroom 2 (you who have hope). Also from the perspective of the Installation it is no use having LR2 installed on your system. You can install LR4 directly but you will need the serial number for LR2.   I deliberately chose to NOT purchase a subscription to creative cloud. I love not or services based on the clouds of the trust, and I don't want a significant monthly expense.

  I appreciate that it is currently possible purchase upgrades with a one-time expenditure.

  I did it for 6 Lightroom on Mac.

  Today, I was offered an upgrade to the latest version of Lightroom.

  However, without prior warning, level Adobe Application Manager set itself a creative Cloud version. I could really do without it! Just to use this application, I have to open a session.

  To add insult to injury, it offers a Lightroom CC upgrade (2015). This upgrade fails!

  Solution 1: I don't have an administrator account, and I enter the system password.

  Upgrade your Lightroom 6 of independently maintaining Lightroom

  The words on the screen may appear to indicate that you get CC in Lightroom, but who is just wording, once it determines you a Lightroom 6 license, then 6.7 Lightroom will be installed.

  If you have 6 Lightroom installed, then I suggest you first install Lightroom version 6.3 first, then Lightroom version 6.6 from following link: keeping up-to-date for Lightroom

  I tried the automatic update but also tried to install updates manually, but I'm currently not able to update any Adobe application. After clicking on the update option, it does nothing, or sometimes an error after initial download.

  As you mentioned that you are facing penalty update Adobe Application manager and Adobe Lightroom, I recommend you to uninstall Adobe Application manager using the cleaning tool Adobe: use of the Adobe Creative Cloud cleaning tool to solve installation problems

  After shooting a lot of images with my new Canon G9X, I tried to import raw images in Lightroom, but I couldn't. I checked the updates and upgrade to the latest version available for me (5.7.1) after reading online, I discovered that the version that supports the G9X Canon is version 6.3. My attempts to download and install this update failed. I received an error message saying that the update did not apply. I installed the Adobe application manager before making the update of 6.3. Why this error could occur? Can you help me? I need to be able to import raw images taken with the G9X.

  I bought and installed Lightroom 6 (not the CC version). Lightroom runs as expected but will not update.

  When I click on help-> updates the title bar flashes once and that's it. I also tried to install as suggestet in keeping up-to-date with Lightroom

  However, Setup does not open any window and does not update to lightroom. I'm under the 64-bit version of windows 10.

  Any help would be appreciated

  In this case try the CC Cleaner use the Adobe Creative Cloud cleaning tool to solve installation problems (I know it says it is for CC, but it works for perpetual licenses too)

  1. If I choose update option on the Help menu, nothing happens.

  2. I'm went directly to the update of Lightroom 6.5 and downloaded.

  (a) I extracted the files.

  (b) I chose the AdobePatchInstaller and run it as an administrator.

• Impossible to update Lightroom/CC shows no apps

  I saw on DPReview.com that there is an update of Lightroom available, then I opened LR, went on the Help menu and click on updates.  Open creative cloud and all I got was this:

  

  Nothing ever loaded and I looked at what was going on and saw this:

  

  Ten minutes later the machine was still running and the small window above has always shown 6.97% 2 GB

  I had NOTHING BUT PROBLEM with update of my Adobe applications since it is necessary to do so through the CC App.  My authorized apps are standalone, not CC PSCS6 and LR6 versions versions.  Why should I use CC to update my applications?  There is nothing more than a pure aggravation.  The last time I had a problem (a few months ago), I was on the phone with a technical support engineer at a higher level for more than an hour and we still never really understood what the problem was.  I don't have time to rehearse these futile exercises.  This stinks.
