    Hi Filip,

Were there any changes (hardware or software) to the computer before the show?

When you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update to install updates, you may receive error code: 0 x 80070490 if the manifest of components (CBS)-based services is corrupted.

Perform the steps from the link below and see if it helps.

Error code 0 x 80070490 when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update to install updates

Note: Make a backup of all your data to an external device as performing on-site upgrade may cause loss of data.

Note: updating of Windows 8 will remove all third-party applications installed, and it resets all default Microsoft applications.

Answer please if you have any questions.

  • Cannot install updates for Windows, error code: 0x800703F1

    Original title: Windows update

Hi people, whenever I try to install an update, I get the 0x800703F1 error code which I also get when I try to enable the hyper-v that can could stop my freezing problems. I'm in Windows 8.

    Things I've tried so far
    • 1.DISM.exe / Online/Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

    DISM.exe / Online/Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

I ran the two commands cmd and apparently, even after the second command, I get error code 1009 indicating that it is still corrupt.

It could be a second option which I could have tried and which is the following:

"Start in Safe Mode, click Start, run, in the open air: type".

    Scanreg /fix
    Click OK or press ENTER.
Reboot into Normal mode and repeat the update of Windows. »

But it seems that I get an error that windows can not find?
In any way, any help from you guys would be appreciated.

  • Cannot install updates for WIndows - error 80070490 and installation disc?

original title: error 80070490 and installation disc?

    Dell, Vista, x 64 laptop.

I can not install updates, including Service Pack 2 and IE 8. I managed to fix the other error messages, but this one is a winner.

I can't follow the steps here because I don't have an installation DVD. The laptop doesn't have a CD/DVD-ROM internal drive and did not come with a disc because everything was preinstalled. Even if I had a disc, my computer does not recognize the CD/DVD-ROM external drive when it is plugged in (a problem at a time!), so it would always help. "The System Update tool does not work on this machine, probably because of that pesky little" compatible operating systems: Windows Vista Service Pack 2 "requirement. I so need SP2 to download the tool which will allow my computer to install SP2? Nice little catch-22 there. I agree with the irony. I disagree with not being able to install updates at all, ever.

Is it possible to re - install without a disk? Can I solve this problem at all or I'll have to take the laptop to Best Buy and ask them to do some voodoo Geek Squad to it?

    Hello

Check if your computer has a recovery partition.
If the computer has a recovery partition, use the recovery partition to restore the computer to factory settings.
Note:   All programs and data will be lost.  You can make a backup of all important data and reinstall programs.

You can also contact the manufacturer of your computer, and asking for a disc.

Also, try the following steps (credit: Control_tps):

    1. go in programs and features, click on it.

    2. scroll to the bottom for Microsoft.Net Framework 4 Client Profile, do a right click.

    3. we will give you a choice of uninstall/change, click it.

    4. then it will give a choice to repair, choose repair.  It will take about 4 to 10 minutes to repair (with my PC), your experience may vary.

    5. Once finished, go to your update and new Update Center.

  • Cannot download and install updates to Windows; Error: 0X8024A000.

    Separated from this thread.

I followed method 2 and everything worked until I came to the command "net stop cryptsyc." When I walked in, I got a message error 2185 of stating, "the service name is not valid." Then I tried to go as "net stop cryptsync ' think the letter n may be missing, but that didn't work either.

I now reversed everything that I had done so far by replacing the word "STOP", with the word 'START' in the orders. This allowed me to re-enable bits and wuauserv.

Any suggestions on how to proceed to the order net stop cryptsyc ?

    Hi Bob,

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Communities. I appreciate your efforts to try to solve the problem by referring to the steps suggested by Martinez in the other thread.

command net stop cryptsvc cannot run because of the syntax error.

You type the command: net stop cryptsync

The actual command: net stop cryptsvc

I have corrected the post now, you can please go ahead and try the suggestions and update the results here.

Hope that the information provided is useful. Do not respond if you need more help.
