  I can not install updates, including Service Pack 2 and IE 8. I managed to fix the other error messages, but this one is a winner.

  I can't follow the steps here because I don't have an installation DVD. The laptop doesn't have a CD/DVD-ROM internal drive and did not come with a disc because everything was preinstalled.   Is it possible to re - install without a disk? Can I solve this problem at all or I'll have to take the laptop to Best Buy and ask them to do some voodoo Geek Squad to it?

  Check if your computer has a recovery partition.
  If the computer has a recovery partition, use the recovery partition to restore the computer to factory settings.

  My work of automatic update of window well before that I refused to renew Norton internet j.4. I remove norton animals.  I found windows update could not be updated and out of this error code: "WindowsUpdate_80070490" "WindowsUpdate_dt000".

  According to brother Tech Support, brother does not support scanning or PC to Fax printers MFC (connected Ethernet) network.  Here is a direct quote to support Brother on 24/11/12:

  «Currently we have everything planned out a complete set of MFL Pro Suite software (Control Center, send/receive PC - Fax, etc.).» Scan of the MFC
