upgrade HD on macbook pro 15-inch 2.4 (2008)
Can anyone please suggest what HDs I can pass on my (old :-)) machine.)
I understand that these will work, but the SSD is an option too?
- Hard disk of 500 GB 5400 RPM 2.5 "
- 500 GB 7200 RPM 2.5 hard drive "
- 750 GB 7200 RPM SATA hard drive, Seagate (new)
I'm looking for max capacity - thank you.
Hi Paznit:
It looks like any disk 2.5 "should work with your computer.
I suggest that you install it in an external enclosure from OWC enclosure or with a USB to SATA adapter SATA USB adapter and connect to your MBP via USB.
Open disk utility > delete and format the disk HARD Mac OS extended (journaled) and a GUID partition.
Then, use a third party application like Carbon Copy Cloner Carbon Copy Cloner (not free, but worth the price) or Super Duper to copy all data from the HARD drive internal as well as the recovery partition.
OWC is a very good place for upgrading your Mac. Here's what it shows to the hard drive of your computer:

Update of the Macbook Pro 13 inch i7 (mid-2012) worm.
Dear Apple community
Greetings,
I would like to know your opinion about the upgrade to the Macbook Pro 13 inch (mid-2012) i7 2.9 worm. by the following:
1. replace the stock HARD 750 GB to a Samsung EVO 850 SSD 1 TB drive in the link below
2. replace the stock RAM memory which is 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) in the link below
I know that apple says that 8GB is the maximum RAM.
is it OK to do? ? (System and stability not wise not hardware wise)
will I have problems with the system after the upgrade? ?
I had done a lot of research about this, but am not sure yet.
your help is highly appreciated
Thanks in advance
Best regards
I would avoid the Samsung SSD. If you analyze these forums, many users have experienced difficulties with the Samsung SSD. (Some are not) Note that Samsung is unable to talk about Mac compatibility on their web site. I think what to say.
I can recommend Crucial SSD based on my experience in the installation of three of them in my Mbps. OWC SSDS have an excellent reputation.
I support the Crucial RAM. I have 16 GB of Crucial RAM installed in two of my Mbps. 16 GB of RAM should present no problems for your MBP. OWC is also a great salesman of RAM Mac compatible.
Ciao.

I have a Macbook Pro (17-inch late 2011) is fully compatible with El Capitan and Maverick. I'm a little hesitant to upgrade. Tried before with e lCapitan and was NOT successful Please HELP
Why has been upgraded to El Capitan failed before?
The only problem is that some applications require the upgrade and some devices that connect to the computer require updated drivers up-to-date. The problem is that for some devices and applications updates are not available and so they do not work with El Capitan.

MacBook Pro (13 inch, early 2011)
I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, bought in early 2011).
The specifications are...
OS X Version 10.10.5, Yosemite
MacBook Pro (13 inch, early 2011)
Processor: Intel Core i5 to 2.3 GHz
My Mac has the ability to me safely upgrade my system for macOS Sierra?
If you have 2 GB of RAM, so apple says,
otherwise realistic if you have 4 to 8 GB of RAM the rest of use would probably say it's a safer bet.

MacBook Pro 15 inch Mid 2009 running slow
My MacBookPro began to run more slowly. It was a bit lazy before I upgraded to El Capitan (10.11.14), but it seems that it becomes gradually slower.
The most affected elements: start-up, open programs and work on the Internet. (In regards to the Internet, I have restarted my modem, checked my speed of suppliers, cleared my cache, etc. I'm waiting for my provider to help me know if there are problems with my service, but it seems that my Internet is being heard more slow as well. I work from home on a website online. Internet delays are causing me considerable problems with my work!)
By different channels support Apple, I ran EtreCheck and provided the report below. If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them.
Confusing one, it says that my 8 GB of RAM is expandable. But I don't know why. I have 8 GB of RAM upgraded last year.
Thank you in advanced for your entry.

Hello again Tricia_S,
I see no problem at all in your report to EtreCheck. The 'extensible' indicator simply means that your machine can be extensible. Most recent Macs have no more extensible RAM. These types of downturns are a common complaint. You have an older machine, and they do not work El Capitan, but also a new machine. You can replace your hard drive with an SSD. But other than that machine seems to be running like he's going to run.

Very slow Macbook Pro 13 inch Mid 2012
Hello world! I'm not savvy at all, so my apologies if something is not clear in my message below.
Data sheet:
MacBook Pro 13 inch (mid-2012)
OS X Yosemite: Version 10.10.5
Processor: Intel Core i5 2.5 GHz
Memory: 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Storage: 139.3/499.25 GB in use; 359,95 GB free
For the last two weeks, my Macbook Pro 13 inch (mid-2012) has been extremely slow. The colorful beachball (aka the wheel of death) often shows up, even when I'm just trying to type something, such as now (I'll have to type really slowly, so it can track). This slowness came very suddenly.
I tried resetting SMC/NVRAM, repair disk permissions, then by restarting in safe mode, but the problem persists (I also tried to upgrade to El Capitan, but was met with a loop of reboot delicious and recovered my time machine backup again to the recovery mode). I think I can also try to reindex spotlight, but I may or may not succeed.
I was not able to create a Time Machine backup successfully for the last month, because it gets stuck on "preparing for backup...". "(not sure if this could be related). I also wanted to point out that Dropbox is one of my startup items, but I got it for centuries, and it has never been my Macbook it ridiculously slow. Before this slowness, I would leave it and my Macbook would be back up to speed. I also tried to remove the list of startup items and slowness persists even after rebooting.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

When you see a beachball cursor or the slowness is particularly bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.

Can I upgrade my current MacBook Pro or buy a new one?
Model MacBook Pro 13 inch 2010 Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo RAM 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB Storage HARD DRIVE 250 GB OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite Hi, I have looked at upgrading my current laptop with some much needed performance boosters, but do not know if in the long run it is worth, or if I should save up for a newer model.
The updates that I think first to replace my current HARD drive with an SSD 250 GB and secondly to replace my 4 GB of ram and 16 GB. (Officially, State Apple this machine does support 8GB, but it's been verified since it can take up to 16 GB).
While I know that these two updates should improve the speed and performance of my pretty spectacular machine, roughy wonder how many years my phone will be usable for after the upgrade. The limiting factor main seems to be my processor, which I am aware might be an obstacle in the future. I understand that apple tend to make updates each new OS X only available for latest machines, and I fear that soon, they will be unavailable for Core 2 Duo models. Can anyone confirm this?
So, I guess my question is, how to limit will be my processor to the duration of life/performance of my mac if I perform the above upgrades?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance!
It depends on.
If you use a lot, I recommend to get a new MacBook. If you use too many, your MacBook Pro will be fine.

MacBook pro 13 inch mid-2012 with the help of el capitan
is there anyone with a macbook pro 13 inch mid 2012 that the use of el capitan?
I want to improve my macbook to mavericks in el capitan, but my friend told me not to do. Because she just update its macbook (same model with mine) and it becomes slower than before (yosemite).
Is there anyone with the same problem? Or maybe another problem after upgrade to el capitan?
It works perfectly with EC is that you have enough memory. I say that at least 8 GB is necessary. 4 GB is very marginal.

Bear with me as I am the most fundamental basic Mac users. I am currently using a MacBook Pro (13-inch, mid 2010) with OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 I don't use Skype or FaceTime or something like that. Recently, I joined an online course in which they said I need a webcam, headset and microphone so that I can communicate with my instructor and discussions in class.
I have really no idea what hardware inside is on my laptop. Is the built in camera something that could be used for this purpose? Or do I need to buy these separately three elements to make this work? And if yes, are you easy to install and can anyone recommend something good, but also low-cost as possible.
Thanks in advance for your time.

Your built in FaceTime, camera is sufficient. This is the idea. outdoor cameras are mostly a thing of the past. If the internal webcam is broken, an external is always an option repair vs.
You may need their proprietary software to connect to their course however

Hi all!
I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, mid 2010, 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo).
Well, after years of abuse, the thinner rope (which connects to the Macbook) began to tear. I tried to drag an above shrink wrap to fix and make it last a little longer, but now I find myself stirring the rope around so he can start loading.
in any case, I found a company after-market on Amazon called Supsun making (link below) and recently purchased a. He said that going to work with my Macbook, but I think not even check what power mine use and after he woke up, I found out mine originally a 60w.
Will this hurt Magsafe Supsun 85w power adapter my mid 2010 13-inch Macbook in anyway?
I thank you for all your comments!
Link to Supsun adapter that I bought on Amazon:

I, personally, look at the price difference and ask myself I'd be sad if I saved money and things did not work well.
Review, carefully, then users of the product review.

Best case for Macbook Pro 13 inch with Retina display
I was wondering what the best case was for my purchase of a Macbook Pro 13 inch with the retina display. I am a student of the school and will walk to school with her in a compartment of my bag. It might be high everywhere, but he must be not so bulky that I also have school books. Any suggestion?
If you are specifically looking for a shell, then I recommend the INCASE ones, just go to the apple store and get my things for Mac they have a feeling of fluidity buttered and are pleasant to the touch - as the Apple trackpad - it simply snaps on and snaps off when you want off the coast. If you are looking for a Holster, I recommend the slim sleeve incase. It has a soft interior for your mac are not destroyed (its aluminium-what worries you - you did you buy Care, haven't you?) and has a spot for the port of loading.
I hope this helps!

I bring you my affected MacBook Pro (17-inch late 2011) at the centre for Apple in Algeria and they refused to cover the repair and asked to pay $ 350.
When did you purchase the MacBook? What reason they gave for the tarp does not it? What you expect from us, your fellow users?

Hi guys; I can open Alchemy and play the default patch. I noticed that there are no patches in my library. When I try to update the logical library hangs. When I try to choose something else in Alchemy GUI logic crashes. Any thoughts? Drew

The hexadecimal string to decimal content content
I write a code in LabVIEW to convert MBus data for some energy meters. Apparently the meter that I use sends the data as a string in hexadecimal format, however after correctly parking that string in hexadecimal format, the real value is the decimal
