Upgrade memory on Satellite A60 218

Hello

Is it possible to upgrade the memory for Satellite A60 218 models?
I heard that the on-board memory (internal) and cannot be replaced. Is this true?
If not, can someone give me a hint where I can find the memory on this model?
I tried it disassemble without success.

Thank you!
Levente

Hello

Just FYI: Satellite A60 has 512 MB internal memory and a fool is only available for the upgrade. This unit can handle with max 1.5 GB of RAM. On the side down in the Middle, it is placed in the memory module cover. Remove it and you will find the RAM slot.

For the RAM upgrade, you can use follow compatible memory modules:
PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 1 M 51)
1024MO PC2700 (PA3313U-1M1G)

If you have any other questions, please write again.

Bye and good luck!

I upgraded a Pro A60 with a memory of 1 GB upwards but the general tab panel /System/ watch still have 192 MB of RAM. This limits me downloading some software of safety of BT Yahoo.

Someone can advise on how I can make the machine to recognize the new RAM or is the 192 MB RAM memory different the new upgrade memory note?

If you use the incompatible RAM module, it is logical that system cannot recognize it properly. I don't know who is the manufacturer of this RAM 1 GB module, but if you want to use a consistent pick up some info on 1024Mo PC2700 (PA3313U-1M1G) or check web page of Kingston.

    Hello

The fact is that the A60 was equipped with an internal memory (256 MB or 512 MB).
This memory is not removable and so you only have one memory for an upgrade slot.
Usually the A60 manages the PC2100 200 pin SODIMM (266 MHz) DDR modules.
So, you can use the modules from different manufacturers that support the above specifications.

I think to upgrade my RAM on my Satellite A60, and all I want to know is if the ' Kingston KVR667D2S5 / 1 G Valueram computer memory 1 GB PC5300 667 MHz 200 Pin SO Dimm DDR2 "is compatiable with him, or if there is a best value one I can come up with something.

    Hi again,

    to answer this question:

Yes, the you´ve of RAM kingston mentioned is absolutely correct and there's no BETTER don't value than this one. Buy the kingston and update your computer with it.
By the way: I´am using kingston * years * and s, one of the best manufacturers of memory I know. So just keep on rocking with your Satellite A60 ;)

  • Upgrade memory of satellite L20-181

    Hey all

I want to upgrade memory on my Toshiba Satellite L20-181.
Now I have 256 MB and I want to add another stick of memory to 256 MB.
Could you please inform me about the type of memory has this laptop?
On the site it is said:
    Standard system memory: 256 MB
    maximum scalability: 2 048 MB
    technology: DDR2 RAM

    DDR2?
A link with such a memory would be very useful.
Also, anyway to buy memory online?

    Best regards

    Hello

The news that you are quite right. Toshiba has tested this laptop with the memory modules to follow:
    DDR2 400/533 256 MB (PA3389U - 1 M 25)
    512 MB DDR2-400/533 (PA3412U - 1 M 51)

As you can see it's memory module DDR2 and if you use the part (PA.) to the Google number, you will find many online offereor where you can order this tested memory. I recommend buying the original or perhaps module of Kingston. On this way, you will be sure that the new module will be recognized correctly.

    Good luck!

  • Upgrade memory for Satellite L30-134

I have a Satellite L30-134, which seems to work pretty slowly - I think that due to the large amount of photos and music from itunes.

I wonder which is the best way to solve - buy a memory upgrade (no idea how to change memory well) or get an external hard drive?
And if I change the memory I'll lose what is already saved on the laptop?

I agree with Ganz most HARD drive will not improve performance but increase the disk space available HARD, it would be you can store more music and picture on HARD drive ;) files

Upgrade memory also would not provide a performance gain of course performance could be a little better because most of the things would be handled directly in memory and not in time on the HARD drive, but generally it s not really noticeable.

In any case if you want to improve memory, check this:

    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=25737&ft=m&St=3

    You must use DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200) 200 - PIN SODIMM

    Hi Ben

Maybe you used the memory modules bad.
As far as I know that you can upgrade memory for max 192 MB
The 64 MB has been installed in an internal memory and cannot be deleted.

    I found these compatible modules:
    PA3003U - 1 M 03 32 MB
    PS3004U - 1 M 06 64 MB
    PS3005U - 1 M 12 128 MB

  • Satellite A60-218 - where to download the recovery disk?

I have a Toshiba Satellite S60. It's a work computer and it's actually not mine but as I work with and I want it to be faster.

Someone on the formatted past with an installation of Windows XP from F@kE and all the drivers disc was lost. Not only the wireless card but also a sound card and graphics.
After much research I found the audio driver. The main problem is that is not a genuine copy of windows, and it is very slow because of Troy, etc..

I think that the best way to fix it is to recover to factory settings (all the CDs are lost). Only I couldn't find in the website of the S60 satellite. Will there be a recovery iso image for download?

Can someone help me? I'm really desperate...

    Hello

First of all the S60 satellite does not for me and I think you mean Satellite A60.

Well, as you said the best way to fix this is a Toshiba Recovery disk because it contains a picture of the factory settings. This means that the operating system (Windows) with all drivers and Toshiba tools installed. Thus, you will save time compared to a disc of Microsoft.

The recovery disc can t be downloaded, but you can ask an authorized service provider. Maybe they can order a new one for you.

Is it possible to upgrade memory on my module one_ _For 1024Mo book (something like that - SO - DIMM DDR 1024 Mb PC2100 (266 Mhz) Kingston)?

Sorry for my English is not my mother tongue :).

You can upgrade the memory on this laptop to max 1 GB.
So I think you can use a module 200-Pin, 1 GB PC2100 slot (266 MHz) DDR SODIMM in one.

Maybe this site might help you a little.

To my knowledge, memory expansion module housing is placed at the bottom of the unit near the fan.
The cover must be secured with a screw. Simply remove the screws and the cover and you will be able to improve memory.

    Thank you

I checked the specifications of your mobile device, and it should have 4 GB inside.
In any case it can be upgraded to 8 GB upwards then maybe you should buy a module with 4 GB and put a former module as the second RAM. One day, you can put second 4 GB of RAM and the use of RAM possible maximum with your Satellite T230-113.
