• Upgrade fails "/" partition requires at least 3048 MB

  For the moment to have a problem with 4 guests when you try to perform an upgrade. I get the error of reading "/" partition requires that at least 3048 MB my root partition is 5 GB with 3.5 GB free. There is a local VMFS on each host anywhere between 300 GB free on the single host to 300 GB free on another. The hosts are DL380 G5 with p400 RAID controllers and the local disks of SAS, I'm upgrading from ESX 3.5 update 1, tried to update manager and the host update utility, call is connected with VMware support, but not getting very far.

  All ideas, will have to bite the bullet and rebuild with vSphere nihilo tomorrow, but would prefer to know the cause and fix, also concerned I'll end up in a similar condition after blowing the partitions and trying to install vsphere.

• Vi4 - VCP / VCDX upgrade path certification

  Hi all

  I know that maybe it's a little premature, but I wondered recently if he's going to be a way to upgrade to VCP4 VCP3?

  Recently, I've been thinking to go on the path to a VCDX certification, but it seems to rest on VI3 (exam blue print). What happens when VI4 (vSphere) comes out? It is better to wait VI4 out first, then update reviews.

  What I've read, VI4 has been in beta since August 2008 around and so in theory should be out in a not too distant future. VCDX has four parts that him and only the first two are ready to be tested on (VCP and the review of the business administrator), it will be ready before VI4 fate?

  Anyone has any ideas, I'm confused and I don't know I'm not the only one?  :|

• When to reinstall Windows 7 Upgrade it will require Windows Vista to be reinstalled also?

  computers portable hard drive is dead, had to be replaced.   Right now, I'm trying to reinstall vista from a recovery disk (taking all the patches) and then use the disk upgrade of windows 7 to install windows 7.   I thought to try a custom Setup, but I have this feeling that the win7 will search for a previous version of windows.

  I'm not sure what you think that this will achieve, but according to Crucial, two PC2700 (DDR333) and PC3200 (DDR400) are backward compatible with PC2100: "memory is designed to be backward compatible, so in General, you can add memory faster safely to a computer that has been designed to run slower memory".

  In other words, it should work - as long as all modules of memory are the same.

  I need details of RAM that can be used in my HP1000-1401AU Notebook PC. According to the spec sheet, the only mentioned details are that the RAM is DDR3 SODIMM. Details of voltage (1.5V or 1.35v), latency (9-9-9 or 11/11/11), speed (667Mhz1333Mbps or 800 Mhz/1600Mbps) etc are not mentioned. I even contacted HP Service Center, but they were not able to help with this.

• Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10 at 11.5.10.2 upgrade - DBA HELP REQUIRED

  I hope someone can help me... I spent the days so far but the same questions!
  
  I'm setting up a VISION E-Business Suite 11i instance to use for training of users.
  
  I managed to install and get running 11.5.10 on SUSE 9 and have no problem running this.
  
  However, I am trying to update this to 11.5.10.2 by applying the Cumulative Update (CU2) fix (u3460000.drv).
  
  I have followed all the previous steps in Metalink (316366.1) note and applied the fixes 4318672, 4229931 and 4297568 according to the instructions.
  
  All the results of Autoconfig in this context returned a status [PAST] and I was then able to proceed.
  
  I then used AutoPatch apply u3460000.drv, but at a certain point, the script displays:

• Upgrade CS3 requires two qualifying products?

  I'm install CS3 for a co-worker, he worked on their old computer that I just replaced. We have a copy of CS2 Premium and the CS3 upgrade. During the upgrade check, it requires a serial number for CS2 or CS2.3. I put in the serial CS2, validate, then tells me that I also need CS2.3. I called Adobe support, they would repeat just put in my series of CS2 and I don't need CS2.3 for upgrade. I finally gave up and took a screenshot. Pressing 'Next' results in a message saying that I need a serial number for CS2.3.

  It's OK, when it is interpreted as

  "Oracle Certified Professional, Oracle Solaris Administrator" (it clearly does not include the Oracle Solaris 10 OCA)

  OR

  "Sun Certified Solaris Administrator - any version" (which essentially encompasses ASFS 10,9,8,... when the certifications have been under the Sun (and considered the level of OCP Oracle)... but not the Sun Certified Solaris associate SCSAS)

  2 OCP Upgrade exams are only a version to a prior level of OCP.  This means has been met the training requirement to an earlier level OCP or the OCP level to a previous version before a training requirement was introduced.

  (Special exceptions of 1z0-067/1z0-034 comes to be presented for Oracle DBA but these retain a requirement for training in the superior version... no one would touch to try these until certification oracle offered good free in beta and was the center of Certification Oracle Help under siege by those who missed!)

  3: my understanding is that the Sun has been certified Solaris associate SCSAS designed a unique certification exams for those interested in certification solaris did not want to take on a SCSA and knowing the in's and out of things sysadmin as OPENBOOT firmware and backup etc.  Which might mean a developer would not need to know.  When the support of Sun as the Certification was associated with inside that they appropriate judges may it on behalf of "Oracle Certified Associate, Oracle Solaris 10 Operating System Certification.  Today from scratch, no doubt this review would be a certification of the OCS.  For admin Oracle Solaris 11 system, they were able to map the exam 1z0-821 an OCA and 1z0 - 822 to an OCP according them more typical model.

• Ianyone of other ridiculous notice how the questions are about the certification exams?

  I just took and failed the test of 11g upgrade.  I tried to upgrade my certification from 10g to 11g.  I did not test certification since 2005 so maybe I'm a bit out of touch, but a lot of questions they were absurd.  I studied for about two or three months for this test, which is a test upgrade, always had to cover a very wide range of knowledge.  Now, I understand that they do not want to make it easy on us, but some questions were right out of left field.  There are maybe 10 or 15 questions that were up as "If you have this parameter is set to true, then, what is the advantage?  I can manage completely questions like that and that's what I studied for, but when they ask questions where you need not only to know all the parameters and then also what that all total possible outcomes could be and then they ask you those more obscure, he just drives me crazy.  It also seemed that some answers were incorrect on a few. I know I'm ventilation here because I didn't, and I'm going to hit the books again and it resume (another $245, Ouch!), but be warned, if you have not taken a test in a certain time, you can not only take more time to study, but also to study what the results might be.  I had already purchased the study books, but I also buy the oracle practice test.  The press review of oracle that I bought had some practical issues on a cd, but they were not the same as what was in the actual trial.  Now I have to wait 14 days before I can take it again.  Well, back to the study.

  It has no State specifically, but based on his post, guess (with all the dangers it) it's a 10 g OCP.  If so, the topics on 1Z0 - 034 are much broader than those that will encounter it on 1Z0 - 050.  This review would require the OP basically start over on his preparatory review process and to focus on a broader set of information. In many ways - this isn't a bad thing from the point of view of becoming a more experienced DBA.  However, after failing an examination, I wouldn't feel comfortable not him pointing to a second review which would have the same gross effect than the first, but who is bigger, longer and probably more difficult to pass.  He doesn't also know its results until sometime in March at best.

  Questions give - they are the only aspect of the series that I cannot agree with enthusiasm. Certainly, the questions and the answers may not be identical to what is real, but similar review is not prohibited. The Q & A in each book certification give I used don't have anything like the "feel" even for them than those of the real exam.  That's what reviews STS/transcend do much better.  Their questions and their responses are formatted looks a lot like the real thing and have a similar difficulty level.  You said before (I think on OraFAQ) that you write the questions on automatic test for your books.  I suspect that the person who does never took Oracle exams.
