Upgrade of processor for your laptop Presario CQ57, product # QE264UA #ABA... Intel Celeron B800 @ 1.50 GHz

Presario product CQ57 # QE264UA #ABA... I know I'm probably beating a dead horse, as they are another message asking the same info, but I guess you could call this clarification. I'm looking to upgrade my processor which is currently an Intel Celeron Dual Core B800 @ 1.50 GHz. First of all, what I read am I was right assuming that the Intel Core processor will work in place the Celeron? I am opting to the processor Intel Core i5 2430M 1333 MHz if application permits. If not, is that I can use the Intel Pentium 2.20 GHz TJ85 B960, or are the two compatible? I thank you in advance for any response or any light you may be able to do about it.

  • Satellite L300 BIOS update problem: "what BIOS is not for your laptop.

I obtained through Satellite L300 laptop and I want to update its BIOS (current v1.50), so I downloaded the bios update v1.60 - WIN and when I run the extracted PS10160M.exe file - I get a message that "this BIOS is not for your laptop.

What I am, I am doing wrong?

PS: that updating the BIOS was suggested automatically after registration on the Web from Toshiba site via the serial number.

The European driver Toshiba page provides a BIOS for this Satellite L300 PSLBCE series and the latest BIOS right now is 1.50!

  • This Bios is not for your laptop!

First I started having this massage of error at startup 'System Fan (90 b)'

I searched HP's site and found several tips to resolve this.

one of the tips was to check your Bios version and to the most recent update.

    I followed the steps carefully.

1 check my bios version / date.

    2. check my cpu model.

3 open the HP website and let it detect my laptop model (and it does correctly).

    Laptop HP ENVY 14-2136nr
    Model: LM764EA #A2N

    4 select my operating system (Windows 7 X 64)

5 - Check the Bios Driver and download it.

6 - everything seemed perfect and once I try to install the driver I get this massage of error (this bios is not for your laptop!)

    HOW IS IT?

    HI @ibraham-hashem.

I see that you have a laptop of HP ENVY 14-2136nr and that you receive 90b fan error. One of the suggestions is update the BIOS, but when you tried you have received the message that it was not for your laptop.

First of all, I ran the HP Support Assistant to help with updates and solve problems.

Have you checked against viruses and malware?

I try to restore the bios, and then retry the update. Restore the BIOS

If it is not successful, I would go to the bios screen, and when you look down, you should see an option to restore the default values.  Please restore the default values.

Now, try to install the update to the bios.  Updated the BIOS

    I hope this helps.

  • HP-G60-635DX: upgrade the processor for laptop HP-G60-635DX

I need to take this laptop goes to clean the fan.  I thought since I was already taking it down to the motherboard to clean it, I would upgrade the processor.

The original processor was an Intel T4300 and I chose an Intel T9600 to upgrade.  I found this information processor in the hardware maintenance manual.  The computer starts and the fan is working and everything seems to work, but the screen is black and I can't access the bios.  I'm not sure about the difference in cpu power, it might need a bigger power supply?  I have the latest (and only listed) update of the bios for the Board of Directors.  Any suggestions?  This processor will work with this mother/laptop card?

I also tried to reset the cmos to unplug for a few minutes, it has not helped. I tried to plug in my HDMI TV where the monitor was the question, this does not work either.

This is the only manual G60 there, I'm afraid. The problem is not the voltage or anything else it is the extra circuit found in Core 2 Duo processors. The cheaper Celeron and Pentium Dual processors are step features advanced and have other things, C2D processors premium. The 940 chipset is cheaper and allows the Assembly of cheaper machines. Run Sysoft Sandra or CPU - Z to confirm that you have 940 chipset and not the 945. If you look at the link I gave you some people become C2D processors working on 940 cards mothers and computers laptops, but HP does not seem to support that.

  • HP pavilion dv6-2150us: problems with the upgrade of processor for an i7-720qm on a hp pavilion dv6-2150us

    Hi all

My friend recently bought an i7-720qm processor used to upgrade hp pavilion dv6 2 1 5 0 US and I

summer giving a helping hand by making the upgrade.

Since the 10 Windows running Google Chrome used up to 70% of the processing of an i3 - 330 m power

processor, it seemed to be good upgrade to improve the performance of the laptop.

We checked that the new i7 processor is compatible with the laptop (it is listed as supported by the)

( interview guide , page 108), and the seller assured us he tested the CPU on some different

HP pavilion and it worked fine.

But when I replaced the processor with the i7 processor i3 and tried to boot up the laptop, only the LED lights

on the front and the setting of the power and volume buttons would light up periodically. The screen was black

    All the time.

Thinking I might have made a mistake during the reassembly of the laptop I put the original i3 processor back in

    and it starts fine.

I updated the BIOS of the F.1C version I found on the internet and once replaced the i3 with the i7 with the

same results - display off, flashes periodically LEDs. The BIOS updated smoothly, and the correct version is displayed in the main menu of the BIOS.

I am confused on what could be the problem with the upgrade, everything should work. Is there a BIOS update I have

    missed, or the problem elsewhere?

Disassembly and reassembly are made with care, and we took care to avoid static electricity. All the rest

on the laptop works well - I am writing this post on the laptop in question with the original i3 processor in place.

Any help, advice or general guidelines as to what should be done would be really appreciated.

    Thank you for your attention.

    Hello:

The problem is that if you look in Chapter 3 of the manual, pp 22-23, there are maps of separate used for the dual core and quad core processors system.

In other words, you cannot install a quad core processor in a Board that originally had a dual core processor and vice versa.

    Hello

Your laptop's card with Intel Dual core with UMA graphics card and the USB 3.0 version.

The high processor upgrade possible, without changing the Board of Directors is 2640M i7 dual core (HP 666173-001 part number). Not much of a performance gain.

If you want to upgrade to QuadCore i7 (i7 quad core 2860QM), you have to replace the Board of Directors. It'll be better buying a new laptop with the better than going to this costly upgrade card.

  • What is the best processor for my laptop?

    Hello!

I am owner of a N200 (0769 BAG) with a Pentium Dual Core T2310 processor.  I expanded the RAM to 4 GB it can handle, but I always miss the power I need for virtualization under Linux 64 Bits.

So I intend to change the processor to have:

    (1) one with integrated virtualization instructions

    (2) the most powerful available on my motherboard that will work with my real 4 GB memory... (Corsair DDR2 modules 2 GB 667 MHz)

((3) consumption slightly more low power as possible in order to amirouche cool the laptop and the battery last more than a couple of minutes...)

Thank you very much in advance for your answer!

At the top you will see the processor [not a real processor but a representation]. He says he supports 533 MHz or 800 MHz FSB. Also, it supports 667 MHz FSB but is not displayed. Your processor will work in your memory at 667 MHz and 800 MHz FSB. If the speed of the memory is the limiting factor, there is nothing you can do. GM965 chipset only supports maximum memory 667 MHz.

  • What? You did not create a recovery media for your laptop?

My son has a 2000 HP, which was under Windows 7. He downloaded the free update of Windows 10 and it worked fine for a week or so until an automatic update ran a few weeks ago, and now the only thing he has is a black screen that says, "an operating system not found'.

His laptop came pre-loaded with Windows 7 and the sticker key on the bottom of the machine code is in tact, however, he does not remember where he put the real backup drives, it is a few years since he bought his computer.

Anyway is to reinstall Windows 7 without the disc? I read that you can create an ISO but I have no idea what that means or the steps I need to take to make. My computer is quite old and running Vista. I'll be able to download the ISO and burn it to a DVD or Flash drive using a Windows Vista laptop with success? If so, can someone walk me through how I would go all this? Also, if the ISO is a viable option, should what steps I take to get his laptop up and running again after that?

    Thanks for your help!

    You are the very welcome.

It will not matter what operating system, you go to the site of.

As you said it is just a file and it will download even on a PC with XP or Windows 10.

But you won't be disappointed with the result, I'm afraid.
