Upgrade of RAM (ProBook 4520 s)
In the current system, there is a 2 GB RAM DDR3 in a housing, a different RAM slot is free. I found the following info using PC Wizard-
Manufacturer: Samsung
Part number: M471B5673FH0-CH9
Type: DDR3-SDRAM PC3-10700 (667 MHz) - [DDR3-1333]
Format: SO-DIMM (67.6 x 15)
Size: 2048MB (2 ranks, 8 banks)
If instsall a 2 GB DDR3 1333 MHz it's going to be okay? or should I check and other settings? It should match the manufacturer?
Hello:
As long as they have the same characteristics as I posted above, any brand should be fine.

HP - Compaq ProBook 4520 s: HP - Compaq ProBook 4520 s compatible RAM upgrades
Hi guys! I bought the HP - Compaq ProBook 4520 s and I plan to upgrade my memory (4 GB of ram). Is PC3-12800 unbuffered NON - ECC 1.35v or PC3-10600 1333 - PC3 compatible? Can anyone suggest me what is the most compatible? Thank you!
Supports up to 8 GB of system RAM PC3-8500, 1066 MHz, DDR3
I guess you want to upgrade to 8 gigs. The specified memory modules are:
4 GB (PC3-10600 1333 MHz, DDR3) 599092-001
It does not speed up the system to install memory 1600 mhz and your laptop requires no 1.35 volts. The DDR3-1600 (PC3-12800) might work, but you're better off buy the modules specified or as close to them as you can find.

Hello
You can buy from the following vendor, or use the information to buy elsewhere.
http://www.crucial.com/upgrade/HP+-+Compaq-memory/HP+business+notebooks/ProBook+4520s-upgrades.html
If your computer runs 64 bit OS, you can buy 8 GB (cheap) or you can buy 2 x 2 or 1 x 1 GB if you wish for 32 bit OS.

ProBook 4520 s: lack of features on a ProBook 4520 s after upgrade Windows 10
Hello dear community
Long story short: I have a HP ProBook 4520 s and yesterday I upgraded manually (with the tool provided by MS) Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro. Everything went very well and smooth and it works perfectly well until now.
The problem is that some of the features of the laptop no longer work. Here are some examples:
-Highlight the option on touchpad
-built-in camera
-Some FN buttons like the one for the brightness of the screen while others (for example, the volume and email) working
My reasoning is that it lacks certain drivers or these functions are somehwat is not compatible with the new OS (it's a 5 + year old PC after all), but I could be wrong. I'd like to hear some suggestions and opinions on this.
If someone needs to my specifications complete, there are:
Operating system: Windows Pro 64-bit 10
CPU: Intel Core i3 330M @ 2.13 GHz 61 ° C Arrandale 32nm technology
RAM: 4.00 GB Dual - Channel DDR3 @ 532 MHz (7-7-7-20)
Motherboard: Hewlett-Packard 1411 (CPU 1)
Graphics card: monitor generic PnP (1366x768@60Hz)

Storage: 1043GB Western Digital WDC WD1001X06X-00SJVT0 (SSD) 42 ° C Black2

ProBook 4520 s: upgrading my ProBook 4520 s
Hey there dear community,
I have been using my HP ProBook 4520 s for more than 5 years. It serves me well throughout my college and colleges after years so I decided to try to muscle it a little rather than change. My current system specs are (have it with Speccy):
Operating system: Windows Pro 64-bit 10
CPU: Intel Core i3 330M @ 2.13 GHz 61 ° C Arrandale 32nm technology
RAM: 4.00 GB Dual - Channel DDR3 @ 532 MHz (7-7-7-20)
Motherboard: Hewlett-Packard 1411 (CPU 1)
Graphics card: monitor generic PnP (1366x768@60Hz)
512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series (HP)
Storage: 1043GB Western Digital WDC WD1001X06X-00SJVT0 (SSD) 42 ° C Black2
Optical drives: DTSOFT device CdRom virtual hp DVDRAM GT30L
Audio: AMD High Definition Audio DeviceNow, I have done my share of reading and I reach two conclusions:
-This laptop simply is not designed to work image or processors so my two options above are dual-core i5 or i7 CPU.
From what I've read here and there, the most optimal processor that can be used on this particular device are the i7 - 640M, i7 - 620 M and i5 - 580 M. I understand that if I go with either of these three, productivity would increase with about 25-30%.
-J' have already updated the 3 GB memory to 4 GB, but to my understanding of this laptop supports up to 8 GB of memory, so I'm considerring getting a 2 x 4 GB DDR3 PC3-10600 • CL = 9 • unbuffered NON - ECC DDR3 - 1333 • 1.5V 512Meg x 64 kit SDRAM SO-DIMM 204-PIN.
My storage is pretty much the best thing to get for this laptop (there the SATA2 port (3 Gbps)) a full 1 TB SSD would be a bit pointless.
My questions are:
-Are there problems or other things to consider about the possible CPU upgrade? I would love to see a video tutorial on how properly to the replacement
-Am I missing something with the memory upgrade? I'm a little hesitant on that tensions must be on the memory sticks (1.35v or 1.5V).
-Are there else I can do for this in order to make a little more current (drive optical swap with something else, etc..)?
I really appreciate every suggestion and comment.
Thank you!

I7 - 640 M is the top processor of the page. Memory DDR3-1066 and is 1.5 volt. The most recent memory of 1.35 volts to the DDR3-1600 not will probably support. HP recommends this:
4 GB (PC3-10600 1333 MHz, DDR3) 599092-001
Technology in the video does not actually remove the CPU but it shows. Remove the processor carefully by turning the locking screw for "open" and lift the CPU out. Be extremely careful with the pins. The new line backup the same orientation as the old and drop it in. Just be sure to block the processor setscrew down tight when you go back. You must follow the instructions on the installation of thermal paste and cleaning.
You can also consider a SSD drive. The gains to be achieved will be more sensitive than the CPU or memory. Also keep an eye on what you spend and make sure it makes sense. If I could only do an upgrade, it would be the SSD. I would like to bother with a Blu - Ray player on a laptop.

HP ProBook 4520 s Notebook PC - CPU upgrade
Product: HP ProBook 4520 s Notebook PC
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
HELO,
I want to upgrade the CPU on my laptop. It comes with "Intel i5 m460" - 2 carrots. Is it possible to replace it with a 4 core CPU for example "processor Intel Core i7-720QM Mobile" or "Intel Core i7-740QM Mobile processor"? Is there a rule of thumb to check what CPU can be updated and with which we? What would be the best equipped (to the family of the i7 - 4 cores) CPU update for my situation?
Many thanks in advance,
TomUnfortunately, the answer to this question is no.
The best compatible optional processor is the Intel Core i7-640 M and has two physical cores can run four threads.Best regards

Help!
I'm trying to upgrade the RAM in my probook 6440 b
It came with 2GB, and I want to bump it up to 8 GB.
I already have very RAM, but can't access the slots of RAM (other than the one on the bottom of the unit).
I believe that the slots are located under the keyboard, but I can't find the removal instructions (or better yet, a video)
Normally trolling YouTube & Google is what I need, but I hit a wall. Even the videos that I found who claims to be the correct model are not. In some cases that aren't even from the same manufacturer and no part in the layout of my laptop.

When I went to the BIOS settings, memory read 81xxMB successfully, it is essentially 8 GB of RAM.
I tried to reset the BIOS settings, has not yet.
I removed the 2 x 4 GB modules, put back the two original modules of 1 GB and 2 GB - those who came with the laptop-, everything worked again.
What was not right here... ?
PS please don't answer not with lame answers "it's weird", "that's strange", I know it's weird and strange. I want clear and specific suggestions.

HP Probook 4520 s installed new hard drive with Windows 7 pro x 64 and drivers - very lag
Hello
I had my HP Probook 4520 s for 5 years and a few months ago, he started to become very lag, especially when you use the internet, streaming video and games.
I thought I had identified the problem as a bad sector on the hard drive and so I bought a new hard drive and upgraded the RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB at the same time.
When I installed the new hard drive, I couldn't burn an image of my old hard drive (it would stop during the process and was unable to do so because of an error). I used my little HP Windows 7 Pro x 64 operating system DVD and your HP Application and Driver Recovery DVD to install the necessary drivers on my replacement new drive.
The RAM and the new hard drive seem to be good, however, it's more lag. I tried to use latancy monitors to see if the drivers are the issue. It seems that there is a huge amount of latancy and my CPU is at an almost constant usuage of 100%.
LatancyMon points in the following drivers: usbport.sys, tcip.sys, acpi.sys, iastor.sys, ndis.sys, dxgkrnl.sys and so on.
I've seen forums where they will guide you step by step how to determine what drivers are causing latancy. This I could do although he always seems to change drivers who are the cause of the problem and there seems to be a lot of pilots of causing this problem it is so difficult to bring out here that one. In addition, there seems to be no solution to these problems. The only one offered is to update the offending drivers. This does not solve the problem with lag and the latancy yet.
Any ideas?
P.s. I really don't know not what is the underlying issue is here so I don't know if this is the right forum to post in. Drivers may not at all be the issue, I spent the last four weeks trying to solve this problem.
Hello skinandbones13
Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!
I understand that you have a problem with your laptop. However, since it is a commercial laptop, you should post your question on the map cell of the HP Enterprise Forums for a better answer.
Have a wonderful day!
