upgrade of the safety components for media player works not.

To http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp to try to upgrade and received the following error message: "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem trying to read the file.  It makes no sense to me because it is a security update and not an audio file.  Overdrive program requires this DRM for Windows Media Player update in order to play the material borrowed under copyright of the library.  Please notify

I was also a problem completing the upgrade.  See http://help.overdrive.com/article/0027/How-to-run-the-Windows-Media-Player-Security-Upgrade.  I realized that in Internet Explorer, I had to change my settings to run as administrator and within 5 seconds, my upgrade was complete!

  • Upgrade the component of security for Media Player does not work; Help!

I'm trying to download audio books using Overdrive, and I did everything to try to get the Media Player security upgrade to work. Each time, I get the response "the component cannot be upgraded", but absolutely no explanation.

I have tried both the Web site and the Overdrive toolbar (I get no response at all from the toolbar Overdrive.)

I tried to re - appoint the DRM folder. I tried to empty the cache memory on the DRM folder and delete everything in the folder.

I tried to install a new version of media player.

I tried to re - working the msconfig startup (following instructions I found on another forum)

I tried to remove my firewall to allow the website to work.

I added the site of drmlicense as a trusted site.

    I'm at my wit's end.

    Help, please!

I solved this problem! (at least for me). I had actually given up on the problem.  Last night, I went through a complicated process to replace WMP 12 with WMP 11 (made it harder to think I have a 64 bit system, but has managed to hack WMP 11 to work as a result of another forum).  When I got the same error, I said that was enough and abandoned.

BUT... today, I took my laptop to work and thought, I would try once more... :)

IE open in administrator mode, went to the site, clicked the button and low and here this worked 1st try! My zune software works!

I don't know what is the key factor, but try to take your computer (if all goes well, it's a laptop) to another router/modem/hotspot.

At home, I chose 'rental house' in dialogue of connection, and at work, I chose "work/Office.  Not sure if this is important.  Good luck to all!

  • Why Firefox instructions for Media Player do not work?

I tried to follow the instructions of Firefox to download the plugin for Windows Media Player. Say the instructions to save the file on my desk when you are prompted to save. However, when you are prompted, after clicking on 'save', a blank pop-up window appears with the title of "downloads" at the top. Then a small article appears and disappears from the bottom of the screen that says the download was successful. There is no option to save it to the desktop.

The Windows Media Player plugin is not displayed under tools and modules, so I guess it was never installed. Explorer always uses very well. Does anyone have a solution? Thank you.

  • Windows Media Player error: Media Player is not properly installed.

I'm listening to an audio book from the library, I downloaded and I get the error message "Windows Media Player is not properly installed.  Reinstall the drive.

I use WP Pro, 64-bit, with WMP 11 (64-bit version I think).  Before my company passed to the 64-bit version of XP Pro, I could download and read books without problem.  It is only since the switch that I can not access my audio books.

  • After the upgrade to Firefox 4.0, I returned to Firefox 3.6 because plug-ins, such as Media Player, would not work just with 4.0. They now work with 4.0.1?

After the upgrade to Firefox 4.0, I returned to Firefox 3.6 because plug-ins, such as Media Player, would not work just with 4.0. They now work with 4.0.1?

I used WMP plugin with Firefox 4 since its release.

The problem is probably because she couldn't find the WMP plugin. One way around this problem is to install the HTML5 Extension for Windows Media Player Firefox plugin available from http://www.interoperabilitybridges.com/html5-extension-for-wmp-plugin

This add-on will do 2 things, it will install the WMP plugin in a place that can find Firefox 4, it will also add an extension to add additional functionality for use by Windows Media Player. This extension has been reported as causing memory leaks, so I recommend that once you install the HTML5 Extension for Windows Media Player Firefox plugin, you must restart Firefox then uninstall the extension. The extension uninstaller will not remove the plugin, Firefox 4 will still be able to use it.

Windows media player is not adequately at a standstill and must be reienstalled.

Then wonder if I want to install the player from the microsoft Web site. When I check the Yes box, I go to the site and he informs me that the version that I already paid for only a few months ago on my computer because my computer is relativley new, cannot be downloaded.

There are no other options to fix the problem that caused Microsoft with the update. I tried to do a restore but it then cause a problem which made the player doesn't do not not the CD to record the right as he said that I had to get the new drivers that microsft does not automatically download drivers when they remove them in this process. Hello

    1. don't you also get an error with the message code?
2 have you installed third-party readers part?
    3. What is the format of the files you are trying to play?

Follow these steps and check if they help.

    Step 1:

I would have you readers of third party temporarily Uninstall and check if persists it to the question.

    Step 2:

Most likely you need codecs to play these files with Windows Media Player. I suggest looking up codec in the Internet that supports the file format, download and install them.
