  • Upgrade CPU Dell Inspiron 530?

I bought a Dell Inspiron 530 in October 2008 (Service tag <> NOTE from the ADMIN: Service tag removed by privacy policy >) and I would like to upgrade the processor. My current processor is an Intel Celeron 450 2.20 GHz. I think that my motherboard is a Foxconn G33M02. (But I am not sure, and I would like to confirm that, so that I don't get an incompatible cpu.)

What would be a good upgrade from the processor that I can put in my current motherboard? I feel that my current Celeron 450 is a uniprocessor processor, and I would trade out for an important and remarkable improvement with more hearts (at reasonable cost) while keeping the same motherboard.

I've already updated the PSU for a 460 Watt PSU and have also upgraded the video card. Looking for a good upgrade from the processor. I think I also need to update my bios of motherboard.

530 systems were built with two different models of motherboards.

FoxConn G33m02 [Dell P/N ORY007] motherboard, this version does not support processors Core 2 Quad, only the Core 2 Duo, Pentium Dual-Core and Celeron processors.

One of the following processors should operate in the 530 Inspiron:

Intel Pentium Dual Core 2140 (1.6 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)
    Intel Pentium Dual-Core 2160 (1.8 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)
    Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5200 (2.5 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)
Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 (1.8 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)
Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 (2.0 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6320 (1.86 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 (2.13 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 (2.33 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 (2.66 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB)
Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 (2.80 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB)
    Wolfdale Core 2 Duo E8400, 3.0 GHz, 6 MB, 1333 MHz FSB, 65W, E0
    Wolfdale Core 2 Duo E8500, 3.16 GHz, 6 MB, 1333 MHz FSB, 65W, C0

Before installing the processor, that you should check that you have BIOS Version 1.0.15 or above, when support for the new Intel processor has been added.

  • Is it possible to upgrade processor for EliteBook 8560p

This EliteBook 8560p currently offers 1618 KBC Version 97.4 ch. card system, I updated the BIOS to Version F.29 68SCF and the current processor is i5 - 2520M to 2.5 GHz.  I think that it is a quad core - when I look in device under processors Manager I see 4 of them.   The chart is the Radeon HD 6470 M.

Is it possible to upgrade the processor for this machine, and if so what would be the best processor performance to upgrade to.  Thanks for any help

Page 90 of this guide details the processors that should work with this system with the corresponding CV part number.  The list seems to have controlled performance with the celeron processor is the processor down.  It also details the process to upgrade the processor.

Review Erico document may be useful to consider before upgrading the processor, because he has some useful information.

  • upgrade processor for p6514f

I want to upgrade the processor for this system.

    HP Pavilion p6514f

    Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

    500 GB HARD drive

    5 GB OF RAM

    Socket LGA 775

I checked the specifications of the card mother IPIEL-A3 (Eureka3) which States that the processor can be upgraded to a Core 2 Quad processor. I bought one that's a Q6600, Slacr Malay, 2.4 GHz / 8 Mb/1066/05 a - L846A603

When I installed the new processor, the system did not want to start and the message displayed briefly on the screen, said that the processor was not compatible with the system.  Where am I wrong?  I thought I did everything right, but now I have a processor with nowhere to go.  Good blood!

I could not find any discussion about this upgrade on this system, so I hope someone might know the answer as to why this processor does not work with this system.

    Thanks for any help!

    Here are the specifications of the card mother IPIEL-A3 (Eureka3) in your computer. According to the specifications;

Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:

    TDP: 95W

Series Intel Core 2 Quad (Yorkfield core)

Series Dual Core Core 2 Duo Intel (core Wolfdale)

From my research, the Q6600 processor you bought is based on the core Kentsfield. According to the specifications of the motherboard, your system supports processors based core Yorkfield. Based on this information, your system should work with the Yorkfield based Intel Q8xxx and/or Q9xxx processors.

  • Adding 2nd hard drive for Inspiron 530

I have a Dell Inspiron 530 which has a Samsung 320 hard drive.  I would like to add a second hard drive to put photos, etc.  Green a Western Digital 2 TB 3.5 "SATA looks like a possibility.  However, images, like most of the internal drives I saw pictures, he has one open side showing the drive mechanism.  The Samsung already in the PC is covered.  The additional disc will not become covered with dust (my PC had a lot of cobwebs in it when I opened it to the top!)?  Any advice on which drive to choose and how to install it would also be appreciated.

    dellby

All computers must be inside the frame, cleaned all the dust on a regular basis.

I have two HD SATA and SSD installed in my Inspiron 530 mini tour and have never had a problem of "dust."

Keep the air intakes located on the façade behind the clean HD of any accumulation of dust, helps to cool the hard drives.

Instructions for the installation of a second hard drive physically in a 530 are here:

    FTP://FTP.Dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_desktop/esuprt_inspiron_desktop/Inspiron-530_owner%27s%20manual_en-us.PDF

Will need you a SATA data cable, there should be a spare power connector SATA inside the case and four 6-32 X 1/4, Phillips head screws to mount the drive.

Connect the SATA data cable to the SATA connector on the motherboard.

After you have installed the drive, enter the system setup and make sure the hard drive is "on" [We] and recognized.

For windows to recognize the second hard drive, it must be partitioned and formatted.

Go to control panel, administrative tools, computer management, storage, disk management, right click on the new drive, select format, then you can assign a drive letter.

Hard drives Western Digital and Seagate are good, my preference is for Western Digital.

Also check the length of the manufacturer's warranty, plus the best guarantee.

  • You want to upgrade processor for my gateway computer.

    Information title: Original CPU required

My gateway has the 4006153R (Love Valley G) of Intel G965 Viiv Motherboard. The Core 2 Duo E6300 processor has an identifier (SL9S5) on the processor. I have the motherboard and processor supported of the gateway information for upgrades of the processor. If I chose a compatible with the motherboard upgrade processor, the processor must have the same SL * as the current processor if the BSF MHz and required socket are identical? My processor is not incorporated and uses the LGA775 socket. Answers to the specific question are greatly appreciated!

SL numbers are unique for each processor:

  • How to get or install a 2nd HD for Inspiron 530 desktop PC

I'm helping a colleague to set up a new Dell Inspiron 530 desktop computer. It is not possible to order this online with a 2nd hard drive system. He's thinking about controlling the system with a single HD, then buy another HD locally and adding.

However, what I saw inside my elderly parents Dimension 521, Dell goes HD using a plastic slider/support type and not with the 4 screws usual. I guess that the Inspiron desktop computer uses a similar system and that the plastic support is necessary to mount the HD in the case.

I would like more details on this subject. Is there room to the desktop Inspiron for a 2nd HD? Is it possible to order the HD mounting bracket separately and how? Alternatively, if you place your order by phone, would it be possible to have the 2nd HD included in the original order of the system.

  • Graphics card for Inspiron 530 desktop PC

I need a replacement of the graphics card for a Dell Inspiron 530, I got in 2008.  Any suggestions?

    hudsonnyc

Assuming you have the Inspiron 530 mini tour and not the Slimline version.

    You could install a GeForce 9400 GT 1 GB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x 16, with the default 300w power supply.

I've been using same GeForce 9400 GT 1 GB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x 16 in the Inspiron 530, with the supply POWER Dell 300w, without any problem.

The GeForce GT 240 1 GB 128 - bit DDR5 PCI Express 2.0 ready video card x 16 HDCP, would be also compatible.

If you want to install a more powerful video card, this would require the set power level.

  • Move to Dimension HD for Inspiron 530?

I have a Dimension 3000 running Windows XP that has a motherboard fried.  I bought an Inspiron 530 running Windows Vista as a replacement.  My daughter has a lot of photos on the hard drive of Dimension.

    2 questions:

-is it possible to put the HD of the Dimension of the Inspiron?  I guess the Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 80 GB drive is an IDE drive, and I think the Inspiron uses the SATA standard

-is it possible for Windows Vista a disc formatted by Windows XP?
