Upgrade RAM Inspiron 9300

Hi, I have a 17 "Laptop Inspiron 9300. the original specifications of the ram is a

DC060 512 MB 533 MHz DDR2 SDRAM (1 X 512 MB)

I would like to add a 1 GB ram aditional to it.

The existing ram will still work if I put in a 1 gb 667 MHz ram?

PC-5300 667 MHz SODIMM DDR2 RAM

I just want to check that it works before you order.

Thank you very much

  • The upgrade of Inspiron 9300 Hard Drive not recognized

I bought an upgrade of my Inspiron 9300 laptop hard drive:

Old hard drive: TG754 Hard Drive, 60G, 9.5 MM, 7.2 K Hitachi, Moraga, unleaded

New hard drive: 250 GB SATA 3 Gb s hard drive 16 MB 7200 RPM 2.5 IN. w o free fall Scorpio black

    TG754 Hard drive, 60G, 9.5 MM, Hitachi 7.2 K, Moraga, unleaded

I don't know I installed it correct (just slide in and screw it) but my problem is that my laptop does not recognize the new drive.  When starting it complains that no hard drive is, and when I boot my Windows XP it also said that no hard drive is located.

I followed the upgrade recommended Dell so I do not know why it does not work.  I read that the SATA drives require additional drivers, but I'm sure that my old drive was already a SATA drive, so I don't understand why he is not recognized.

    Help, please.  Thank you.

The 9300 has been performed in two versions - the vast majority were EIDE.  The last execution of production used SATA.  Yours is EIDE.

Readers are physically the same size and made the same carrier - but does not connect the SATA version to the motherboard (check the back both discs and you'll see why).

The EIDE version has a limit of 120G BIOS - it means not that you can not use this drive of 160 G, but the results can be unpredictable, sudden loss of all data.  Keep backups if you try a 160 - it is much safer to use a 120G.

No, a 5400 all else equal will be slower than a 7200 - but you don't have a choice, because all manufacturers have stopped making 7200 RPM EIDE (PATA) computer laptop some time ago.

  • Upgrade RAM Inspiron 5748

What is the maximum amount of RAM that the Inspiron 5748 will accept? Can anyone recommend a good brand? Thanks in advance!

The system has one memory slot and will have up to 8G in there.

  • upgrade to Windows 7 on a dell inspiron 9300 with windows xp

I have a dell inspiron 9300 and I just upgraded from windows xp to windows 7 Ultimate edition 32 bit. I can't install the drivers of my resource cd.

Win 7 will automatically detect the NETWORK card drivers but not the drivers for the wifi card. The easiest way is to connect the network cable to your computer and run windows update. This will update your display drivers (I have geforce go6800 and it worked) and the drivers for your wireless card. So now you have a proper and internet wireless display. Now, you can go to the dell website and download the drivers for sound card for i9300 (xp version). Run the drivers in compatibility mode for win xp and you have sound on your computer.

  • HD upgrade: Inspiron 9300 w/SATA?

I have an Inspiron 9300 with a SATA drive (I think). I understand that other 9300's often have an EIDE drive and the BIOS limited HD size to 100 GB or 120 GB. I'm not sure that fully understand if the limit applies to these systems that have the SATA drives as well, or if there is a limit to these bodies. I'm a little fuzzy on the question if the system fully supports a SATA too. Consider the screenshot below of HD Tune... It seems to reference both 1 SATA and ATA-100. (I thought ATA-100 EIDE)

Thanks for your help to clear up my confusion. I would switch to 250 GB or more.

  • Upgrade memory Inspiron 530

I am trying to upgrade the Inspiron 530 for my mom. It was running great but has begun to show it's age.  I want to hang some new faster memory, he was considering upgrading the processor, but at this point isn't going to bother because of the fact that it is an older machine, it mainly use it for email and the occasional web surfing session.

I see that Dell is silling RAM but is a bit more expensive side and trying to find elsewhere, but to see different speeds... So rather than have bad normal speed and it does not work, can someone point me in the right direction to make sure I get good memory?

    Thank you

I guess you have the Inspiron 530 mini tour with the 300w/350w PSU and not the version of Slimline s 530, with a power of 250w.

MT 530 systems were built with two different models of motherboards.

If your 530 has been purchased with either a Core 2 Duo, Pentium Dual-Core, Celeron processor and a 300w power supply, this system usually involves an 0RY007/G679R/CU409 [FoxConn G33m02] motherboard which only supports LGA 775 Core 2 Duo, Pentium Dual-Core and Celeron processors and 4 GB of RAM.

If your Inspiron 530 minitower shipped with a LGA 775 Core 2 Quad processor and a 350w power supply, you have the motherboard [FoxConn DG33m03] of 0FM586.

The card mother 0FM586 can be used for both Quad 4 and Core 2 Duo processors and can support 8 GB of RAM, with a 64-bit operating system

Motherboard is your MT 530 have?

    The Inspiron 530 with a motherboard G33M02/0RY007 will support either 4 GB [4 x 1 GB, or 2 x 2 GB DDR2 PC - 2 modules - 5300 or DDR2 PC2-6400 memory.]

  • Inspiron 9300 screen turns off after the Windows Logo screen

Inspiron 9300 my wife became severely infected.  I thought I had some weird things start popping up of the problem decided to wipe the hard drive and start over.  Unfortunately, I don't have to restore disks when I bought the computer.  I install windows xp pro service pack 2 full retail version.

Installation was not a problem until I installed the driver ATI Mobility x 300.  I followed directions for installation from the website, do the installation of xp followed of the dell system software update followed of chipset followed video driver.  After that whenever I put on, the screen turns off after the Windows Logo.  The computer is still running and if I plug an external monitor everythng is fine.

I tried all the troubleshooting tips I've seen in this forum.  I did a full install twice. made of safety boots (all right), started in VGA mode (works fine), I ran diagnostics from fn on startup, including express, extended and video tests and they pass all the controls.  I'm sure it's a software problem, but have been unable to solve.  I've updated the ATI bios although when I run it says already installed and done one installs x 300 driver on 6 ttimes own.

I know it must be something simple that I'm missing. My system is the Inspiron 9300 with 2 GB of ram and the mobility x 300 card.  Any help would be appreciated.

  • Tecra Z40 - A - the upgrade (RAM RAM)

    Hi all

Ordered little RAM to upgrade my Toshiba Tecra Z40 - A, but can not find, for the life of me, anything where you want to insert online.

I previously installed RAM under the keyboard (couple of clips holding it) and on the other, a small cover on the bottom, but the Z40 does not appear to be anywhere easily accessible.

Has anyone upgraded RAM on the Z40? Or is it a big no, no, because of the guarantee?

    Thank you
    Lance

Memory upgrade on this model Tecra is a bit complicated and, in my view, should not be done by the owner of the laptop. For some models of Ram upgrade can be done by the owner of the laptop and exact instructions how do proposed in document s user manuals, but not for your Tecra.

For full access to the RAM modules lower lid should be removed and it can be done by people of service only. If you do this alone you can void the warranty valid.
I recommend you contact the nearest Toshiba service provider in your country and ask for help or advice.

  • Portege 4000 - upgrade RAM & graphic card driver installation

I'm having some trouble with my Portege 4000 for the moment. I installed XP on a disk, but will no longer have that I have 256 MB of RAM...

-Have you tried 2 manufacturers but the PC133 512 is not compatible. However, my system has an IBM of PC100 256 chip, which was bought early last year, after much trial and error, and I wonder now if the motherboard will be more suited to the PC100 and PC133 non?

-Consider the options alternative to XP, 98SE or 2000 because they are lighter operating systems. I can put it on a spare drive (test). Is it possible to set up a partition for recovery CD Rom (which has 98SE) on this subject and have little space left over to install another Linux operating system or its Manager partition crushes everything?

-J' put another post for .exe drivers related to the display/vga for 98SE and 2000.

-Just for the record, not all Linux distributions seem to go back on the size of the screen, so it takes some work...

    Thanks much for any help.

    The protégé 4000 is compatible with the PC133 modules! AFAIK, you can upgrade RAM of this notebook 1 GB (1024 MB) and you can use these modules;
    PC133 512 MB (PA3108U - 1 M 51)
    PC133 256 MB (PA3086U - 1 M 25)
    PC133 128 MB (PA3085U - 1 M 12)

You can create partitions on the HARD drive using a 3rd party like Partition Magic 8 tool. I use this tool and it's really nice.
After you create 2 or three partitions on the HARD disk, you could install different OS (operating systems).

  • Upgrade Ram on a Netbook NB200 - 00L

I gave to my two daughters a Netbook Toshiba NB200 - 00L. Both came loaded with Windows 7 Starter. If I just upgrade to Windows Home Premium, it will slow down computers. I was told that the maximum ram that can take netbooks is 1gig. However, I keep seeing that people are upgraded to 2gigs. I want to upgrade the ram so that Windows Home Premium will work better. Can someone enlighten me on this subject. Upgrading ram Home Premium support will be more effective? Also, is anyone Home Premium running on their netbooks without upgrading, and it is really slow? Thank you

    Hello

AFAIK NB200 can be upgraded to 2 GB of RAM. Therefore, you can check the specs on the Toshiba site!

I m not NB200 owner but I improved my other laptops equipped with modules from Kingston. I've never had a problem with these modules. They always run stable and don t make problems.
