Upgrade to JDK for forms development facility?

I installed originally 11.1.2.1 forms on my Windows 7 PC using the JDK 64-bit 1.7.0_51 and I wonder should I do to upgrade the JDK regarding my installation of special forms?

  • Something to watch out for when upgrading to JDK on OS?

Running Oracle RDBMS 11.2.0.3 on RHEL6. The systemwide default JDK is currently the OpenJDK 1.6. I've been troubleshooting some problems with the jagent of GoldenGate upgrade that required me to use Oracle/Sun JDK 1.7. At this point, I wonder if there is a drawback to simply do the default Oracle/Sun JDK for the oracle OS user (who has the RDBMS and GoldenGate Software installed).

I did have the pleasure of dealing in java database yet, but I understand that the RDBMS packaging its own JDK (in $ORACLE_HOME/jdk). However, I know that the GoldenGate process will use the external JDK.

I was wondering if any of you out there did this and what I should look out for side effects.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Don,

Oracle installation comes with its own jdk you mention and all the db utilities (netca etc.) are hard-coded to use the RDBMS House rather than a few os by default one.

One within the database will be 1.6 in 11.2.0.3 I think (1.7 is available in only 12 c) - but is unaffacted by what you do outside - it is completely resident inside the DB - so classpath for example has no external connection paths - instead, he searches inside the db java objects.

I'm sure you can do what you like with the jdk os and oracle does not care (even if JAVA_HOME is set to a new 1.7 on the operating system installation) - Although no doubt there's an exception somewhere...

    See you soon,.

  • 64-bit JDK 7 OK for SQL Developer 4.0 (4.0EA1)?

Fact SQL Developer 4.0 supports the 64-bit JDK 7 (http://download.oracle.com/otn-pub/java/jdk/7u25-b17/jdk-7u25-windows-x64.exe), or should I download JDK 7 32-bit (http://download.oracle.com/otn-pub/java/jdk/7u25-b17/jdk-7u25-windows-i586.exe)?  I discovered the hard way that made SQL 3.x developer support only the 32-bit JDK 6, even if I'm running on Windows 7 64 bit desktop.  I have never found any official documentation regarding this limitation for SQL Developer 3.x - only discussions that I found on the web.  Similarly, I don't see any details in the official documentation of SQL Developer 4.0.  Thank you.

32 and 64-bit are supported. And you can run 64 bit JDK with SQLDev 3.x as well.

  • Should what macbook I buy for ios development?

I'm a software developer want to learn ios for this development, I want to buy a macbook. But I'm in great confusion what macbook should I buy, I was thinking of buying the Macbook Air 13 inch 2015 model with core i5-1.6 ghz, 4 GB of ram and 128 GB of storage. I would like to ask all ios developers there is this configuration will be good for me because I am with money for macbook pro, so please help me guys. Thank you

I'm not a developer, but I know you're going to need a macbook pro. It's too slow a processor to do what you are wanting to do wayyyyyyyyyyyyy. 1.6 ghz is for normal tasks such as navigation. You certainly need to do a few upgrades to the Air of Macbook 13 inch if you are wanting to do the development. I suggest strongly a faster processor and at least 8 GB of RAM. You will want to get a Macbook you will have more work, because it will have a much shorter life if abuse you it, that is why I suggest the Pro. Have you checked the refurbished Macbook Pro? I think you could find one close to your price range! If this isn't the case, except a little bit of money, it is not too hard!

Here is a link to the refurbished macbook pro (these go all the same tests as the new mac Cross and have the same guarantee)

    http://www.Apple.com/Shop/Browse/home/specialdeals/Mac/Macbook_pro/13

There is one that I see for $1 099,00 with the 8 GB of RAM (you save $200 normal price), is only $100 more than the macbook air you're wanting. Totally worth buying the macbook pro and then

  • Move from Mac to? For Web development

OK guys, I'm about a possible switch. I am a business owner who uses the computer Mac for our work. Lately I've been do want to eventually move from our beloved Macs once to another system. So my questions are the following:

1 will be wise to switch to Windows if Mac is what we are accustomed to?

    2. Although I used to use Windows computers several years back. The interface is so different now. What is the learning curve that I will face?

    3. If I choose to go with a Dell system, what would be the best for web development and even a certain creation of mobile applications. Please, if possible give me more information on all the options of Dell.

    4. who use Dell for their web development, and why is it a better choice than Macs.

A consultant will help you. Thank you very much!

Every Mac since 2006 run windows natively. (this isn't a PC virtual but rather native windows)

IOS application development is done on Mac afaikt.  If its android or another platform then mac is not mandatory.

Its a draw upward as much as that of something because everyone including apple returned to exclusive pieces.

My personal preference for development and other work is systems Mac Pro from 2006 to 2012 and Dell Precision Systems of the A380 to the 3400 and 3500 Series.  The T3500 being very close to the nelahem 2009 mac pro in the processor and chipset and ram etc.

For my personal stuff, I use a mac pro 2009 or 2010.

When my clients ask me what to do, ask them how much money they have.  Then I suggest T3400 or workstations precision T3500 with a specific 960 GTX video card that works very well with BIOS A09 on the T3400.  The reason why I buy used T3400 or T3500 which is so I can spend money more on Ram and disks and windows etc.  There are ways to get a legal copy cheaper Pro 8.X.

For less than $500, you can have a machine 64-bit windows 8.x EVGA GTX 02 G-P4-2966-KR 960 2 GB 128 - Bit GDDR5 SuperSC ACX 2.0 + video card and 4 GB of ram or more.

If your mac is at least 2009, it will run windows 8 and probably 10. I have run windows 8 Professional 64 bit on my 2009 Nelahem Mac Pro Tower.

Wizard Boot camp is free on all Macs.

Your copy of windows is not.

The original version of windows is not adapted to a corporate domain environment.

The original version of windows is $ 109 and the pro version is $ 199.

Windows 8.1, it is what is now available and windows 10 out July 29, 2015

You're not giving anything on a mac, you have a dual-boot 2 OS machine.

The most ironic thing for me it's easier machines on Earth to install windows on a Mac.

  • Upgrade Windows 10 on my development Manchine

What happens if I upgrade Windows 10 on my development Manchine?

I am a PHP programmer and have installed many programs and configured my PC up to a point where it works very well.

What happens to my programs after the upgrade?

I can guess the natural response to this, something like, some will work, others need to be updated, however the time to go through each program and check if they are, it's too, not sure if it's worth.

    Examples of programs installed:

    • AutoHotkey
    • Virtual printer PDF (PDF Forge)
    • GIT
    • wget
    • WAMP (Windows Services: Apache, MySQL)
    • PHP (runs as a .dll with Apache file)
    • CURL
    • WinMerge (diff files tool.)
    • ImageMagic
    • Ghostscript
    • Node
    • Ruby
    • Chocolate
    • MINGW32 (GitBash, Bash console allows)

It would take a while to install and make sure that all that these work again properly.

After the upgrade would still work?

  • Is tuning, the work of a forms developer?

I'm a developer of forms for more than 15 years. Forms developers do know DB setting also. I tried to enter the tuning but very difficult. So if a form takes a long time. Find us that it is because of a SQL statement. Is developed using the trace, statspack, TKprof, explain plan work etc. of the Forms Developer or is - this work of the DBA? I recently went for an interview for a job of forms, was a question of tuning and I was knocked flat. They asked me how to read the report from Tkprof and interpret it. I read the Tkprof reports but cannot make the head of the tail of it, to be honest.

IMHO (IMHO), it is the responsibility of every person who writes a SQL or PL/SQL statement to make sure that the instructions are effective. If you write a SQL statement that runs a complete Scan of Table - it is not the responsibility of the ADMINISTRATOR to rewrite your query so that it uses indexes, etc.

The DBA is responsible for the tuning of the database so that it works best, but you can't wait for the DBA to hold the hand of all the developers and rewrite their SQL or PL/SQL for them. As a developer, you should learn "best practices" for the language program you with and - most importantly - to use "best practices" of the language with which you write your program.

  • How to upgrade my Firmware for printers?

    Hello

I'll post a quick tutorial on how to upgrade the firmware for your printer.

Whatever printer you have to do most of your print, there are a few things you can do to ensure that it runs optimally. According to the model and printer ship date, you can have a few updates to make as your printers may not have shipped with the driver or the most recent firmware.

There are many reasons why these updates are important. Driver updates will make your printer run more smooth and faster from your computer or the printing station. They will also update Media preloaded into the pilot that they become available on the market, so that you can easily print on these materials.

Firmware updates also make sure that your printer works more fluid and faster, but this applies to the material itself. Firmware is only the software that is loaded in your hardware. Latest firmware updates for some models of printers decreased paper and ink waste and increased print speeds.

Now to download the latest version of the software that you will need:

    1. Go to HP.com support & drivers
    2. Click on the green box
    3. Type the product number of the printer that you have
    4. Select what OS you have on the desktop / laptop
    5. After that, you can go ahead and get the latest version of the software that are available on the list.

Remember if you find one of my post useful or want to say thanks don't forget to click the White Star under my name to give me congratulations.
    I really appreciate it!

Once you install the firmware, it will give you a list of instructions on how to load the update to the printer.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thank you!

    I hope it's useful!

    Thank you!

  • Upgrade of RAM for hp G62-451sa

Hey, my names Tom and I'm new to this forum.

I have a 2 HP G62-451sa bought new years. I discovered that my use of physical memory is extremely high (80-90%) of the 3 GB of Ram (1 GB + 2 GB) I have. I have a 64-bit windows, and I'm looking for RAM upgrades. Can I switch to 8 GB (2 x 4 GB)? and if so where can I buy those replacements of 4 GB of ram for my model because I have found none to my computer through to look at many sites such as crucial.com etc... But what can I use other upgrades of RAM for notebooks G62 like G62-450sa?

    Thank you

    Tom

    Hi, Tom:

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02542455.PDF

Chapter 1 page 1-1 provides the memory upgrade information (Yes, you can install 2 x 4 GB of PC3-8500 memory or 10600).

Just make sure you get chips with 8 black memories of each side of the Board.

Unless you live in the United States, I know not what brands are available in other countries or where you can buy them.

  • I am considering upgrading my laptop for Windows 8. What can I expect if I do this?

You may want to consider upgrading your laptop for Windows 8, but don't know what to expect or if it is compatible or not.

If you are in this category, then you will find this site useful.

It will give an idea of what to expect with possible isuses and a link to a tool for verification of compatibility at the bottom.

Blink on following: HP has tested my computer with Windows 8? at the bottom of the site and enter your product number.  This will tell if the system has been tested for Windows 8, and if he can or can not get updates driver and software Windows 8.

I hope that the site will help those who are considering upgrading to Windows 8.

    256 MB: PA3389U - 1 M 25

    1 GB: PA3411U-1M1G

    Hello

the manufacturer that you saw? Will they have the same characteristics, then they should go up. The best decision would be to take some kingston or the essential modules. They have been tested to work well with toshibas, just so consider buy some kingstons with the specifications of the original toshiba modules and have fun with them.

In the case of some other question just ask.
