  I was running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit for many years without any serious problem. After the upgrade to Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit I was prey to a BSOD random. Any help to solve this issue will be appreciated.

  If you want to go to 64-bit, you have no other choice than to a cleaning

• How can I clean installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit using a upgrade disc?

  Originally, I had a Windows Vista 64 - bit o/s office.

  I decided to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit o/s

  The first time I ran this 'upgrade', I made the mistake of selecting the option UPGRADE instead of using the CUSTOM option.

  For some time since I've done the 'upgrade' I got BSOD problems including caused by video and WebCam drivers.

  This is why last week, I took the plunge and decided to reinstall Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit using my UPGRADE disc (the disc is not FULL version)

  I selected CUSTOM

  I saw, I had two partitions:

  Disk 0 Partition 1: Win_RE

  Disk 0 Partition 2: CDrive (c :))

  I couldn't find an option to delete my partitions and perform a new installation.

  I ran this and finished installing fine but did not format my drive and it change named my windows to windows.old. Things seem to be ok on my PC, now that I've done this, and I don't take BSoD right now.

  However, I was told that I should be able to achieve a COMPLETE clean install delete partitions to force the OS to reformat and recreate the C: partition.

  The menu:

  Discount

  Load the driver (I have no idea what is this option)

  To make changes to partitions, restart Windows from the installation disc

  I could not click on an option to delete/reformat my partitions and thus abandoned the process.

  I then let the disc (forgive my ignorance) and restarted the PC. I dropped in the BIOS and set to boot from the DVD drive.

  This did not do anything to bring up the WINDOWS SETUP option. It would simply start Windows after that, I suspect, he couldn't find the exe file to start.

  I've upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and now my Palm T3 will not be synchronized.  I downloaded desktop 4.1.4e 6.3 and 4.1.4. I tried all three in both windows 7 and windows XP mode that tells me is a 32-bit o/s but I'm really not sure.  I tried to hot sync in bluetooth in windows 7, as the T3 and laptop connect but he always tells me that the port is used by another program? Does anyone know what I have to do to get it to sync or am I've sentenced to throw my faithful T3 out? Any ideas?

  The Tungsten T3 HotSync driver is not 64-bit capable, this is why you can't get the T3 to HotSync.  Please read this thread to learn more about your options with Windows 7.

  I have a laptop HP625 I want to upgrade.  There on the motherboard processor Dual-Core AMD Athlon II 9340 (2200 Mhz, 2 carrots, 2 logical processors), and I installed 8 GB of Ram.  I used the Windows Upgrade Advisor, and he indicated that he was a good fit.  Something weird or issues that I could keep in mind this clean installation of Windows 7 32 bit to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit?  I also use Carbonite for my backup.  Reason why I'm doing this is to allow the laptop to be able to work with higher end audio/video editing software.

  You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.

  Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.

  Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc.   Trying to upgrade from Vista Ultimate 64-bit of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. The installation of the programs continues to telling me to uninstall Trend Micro 2008. I never had 2008 on this computer. I didn't 2009 and upgraded to 2010, which is compatible with Windows 7. I uninstalled 2010, but the Windows 7 install program keeps telling me to uninstall Trend Micro Internet Security 2008. I used the uninstall of Trend Micro tool and also the Windows Installer Clean up. Still no luck. I've even went into the registry and remove any mention of Trend Micro. Still no luck. So, now what. I don't want to do a clean install. If I have to do, I'll stick with Vista. Looks at MAC ad is correct!

  Problem solved by a tech Trend Micro, which ran to remove several tools then had me into Safe Mode to delete a folder in Documents and Settings above. I'm now running Windows 7. Thank you!
