upgrade trial vista real vista?

I was curious to know how much it would cost to activate the vista of the trial to the full version only reason I want to do is and then upgrade to windows 7 without formatting my HARD drive because all 3 of them have far to much to transfer to only 1.

Hello

Microsoft sells more than Vista.

You would have to buy Vista from eBay, etc and you run the very real and serious risk of buying pirated software.

But before you even consider this option, see if your machine won't work even Windows 7.

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

    upgrade

Can I upgrade to vista without deleting my xp programs and files? I don't want to lose my programs/files downloaded, but I don't want to argue with remove them and reinstall later

Yes, you can perform an upgrade "On the spot" and all your personal data and software applications will be available in Vista (provided that they are compatible Vista).

As always, you should create a backup Image in XP before you begin the upgrade, just in case. Also check that you still have your XP product key. If this isn't the case, then use one of the below product key finders.

corresponds to what is displayed by the utilities mentioned above as OEM such as
Dell use an internal key code when they build your PC.

The key on the sticker code should be used with your Windows CD

  • Upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 home Premiun home

I've recently updated my PC from Vista to 7, and it doesn't have me let use my Vista key. The key of Vista is always good and active, but don't let me use in the upgrade to 7. What should I do another get a new copy of Windows 7?

The ability to use a Windows 7 product key to activate Windows 10 is a single device, associated with the activation of Windows 10. Windows 7 never allowed the use of a Vista product key to activate Windows 7.

I need to know where you bought Windows 7 (not so).

If you choose to buy an OEM of Windows 7 version, you can only perform a 'custom' / clean install and an upgrade of Vista (where is kept of your applications and your data are not possible0.)

You could also try as an experience see if Windows 10 is compatible with your PC. You can download and install (activation will not work using your Vista key, so skip activation during the Windows Installer process 10).

If Windows 10 installed and that you are able to start and use the features of Windows 10 then you might want to consider upgrading to Windows 10 since costs will be substantially the same (and it's a real version of "Retail" Windows 10 and not an OEM version, which means that if you decide to upgrade your PC at a later date you can re - install on the new PC and 'Activate' 10). The only thing you need to consider is if all your Vista applications will run in Windows 10.

  • Satellite M70 - I want to upgrade to Vista

    Hello.

Three days before I seek assistance and advice in this thread if I upgrade a Satellite M70 (PSM71) of XP - Pro to Vista.
Thanks for the advice coming from Luke_1 & Eldorado I could do my studies before the upgrade.

Today I was searching Internet and I found this page:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/tsb7201sk002hr01.htm

This page tell me that my computer is not supported to be upgraded from Toshiba.

    So, what can I do?
    Thank you.

    Hello!

    Why start a new thread?

However, the Satellite M70 (PSM70) is ranked on the site of Toshiba notebook compatible for an upgrade to Vista.
The PSM71 is similar to the PSM70 and on the site of Toshiba, that I can find all the drivers for Vista you need.

So you can upgrade it to Vista.

    Good bye

  • Upgrade satellite Vista M30 - need drivers

    Hello

I'm pretty clueless about computers and upgrades to Vista to realize I needed drivers. I have a M30-604, and where I would be able to find drivers for I can use wireless etc.

    Thank you

    Carol

    Hello Carol

Unfortunately I have to disappoint you. Satellite M30 is quite old and it will certainly not supported in Vista. Because of this, you will not be able to find a driver for Vista on Toshiba download page. As far as I know Just notebooks with Vista capable sticker must be supported.

I have Satellite M70 and it is also not supported, but I managed to install Vista and everything works fine. Driver audio I found Googling autour.

    Sorry! :(

  • Satellite Pro A200-16N: can I use the recovery CD after upgrade to Vista

    HII!

IM thinking of upgrading to windows vista on my Satellite Pro A200-16N and I ran the pre-upgrade of windows vista from microsoft website and it says that my system will be in charge of windows vista so im ok about it.

The problem is that if my laptop was to break or something like that at some point, will my recovery CD provided by toshiba to work always on the laptop with windows vista?
They will return the laptop for windows xp or from my laptop has another operating system they will not work?

    Also...
    What's the deal with BIOS? : S
    I don't understand!
If I were to upgrade to windows vista should I upgrade my BIOS before or after the upgrade to vista?
As I download the new drivers before upgrading Yes?

    Thank you!

The restore CD will of course work.
The recovery CD will always set the laptop back to the factory settings. This means that the whole HARD drive will be formatted and the image of Toshiba will be installed.

    > What's the deal with BIOS? I put t understand!
    > If I were to upgrade to windows vista should I upgrade my BIOS before or after the upgrade to vista?
To my knowledge, that this laptop was already shipped with Vista, so you need not update the BIOS if you want to reinstall Vista.

Some series Satellite A200 needs a BIOS update if you want to use the XP.
In such cases, it s advisable to upgrade the BIOS to version XP first, then install OS X.

    Best regards

Hi, I had the problem that I had no sound after upgrade to Vista Business.

After several attempts to get a solution from Toshiba I found myself.

Here are the steps to resolve this problem:

    1. update the Bios to version 3.5
2 do a clean install of Vista
    3. install the added value of package
    4 install the audio driver
5 install the patch "mute off".

    Should work now.

Hey wow, it's really nice. Already bookmarked it. :)

  • Upgrade from Vista Home Premium to Vista Ultimate

This is a question for someone at Toshiba:

I have a copy of the Windows Vista Ultimate DVD (given a conference I attended) and I would like to use it to upgrade my Satellite laptop to Windows Vista Ultimate Edition. This morning I did a clean install using this DVD, but then when I installed the drivers Toshiba I found that the HD-DVD player will not settle.

I guess that because it did not recognize the laptop as a Toshiba laptop, is that correct?

So I used the Toshiba Recovery CD to return to a working laptop again once (and has spent all afternoon recovering all my backup files), but I always upgrade to Vista Ultimate. I could change just the product key of my system (from the control panel-> system) on a Vista Ultimate key, but I fear that the software Toshiba value added (HD-DVD player, etc.) will stop working.

Otherwise, I could do a DVD upgrade install but this will take ages and again, I'm afraid that the Toshiba value added software will stop working.

Someone at Toshiba can confirm the safe way to upgrade to Vista Ultimate.

    Thank you

    Darren

    Hi Darren

Just one thing at the beginning:
    > This is a question for someone at Toshiba
Sorry, but you have misunderstood something. This is the forum user and you will not receive response from Toshiba directly.

    Return to describes the problem:
I have very good experience with the Vista upgrade. I installed the clean version of Vista Ultimate on my laptop Satellite A200. All the necessary drivers, tools and utilities that you can find on Toshiba supports the page.

On a Toshiba DVD drive I can't tell at the moment but the reading of similar positions, it must be just a update and because of this it cannot be installed on your laptop.

For me the best solution for you is to change the activation key and use Vista Ultimate. When activated you can update all Toshiba including PPV stuff. It has no influence on the version of the OS preinstalled.

  • Satellite A120: upgrade of Vista - number of invalid COA

I just (15 February 2007) bought a Toshiba laptop, A120, with an offer to upgrade to Vista. To take advantage of this offer, I have to go to a website ("Moduslink") and enter the details of the laptop computer and the operating system bundled with it on the site.

When I enter the number COA for Windows xp professional on the website of Moduslink I get the error message "we're sorry but we are unable to validate your COA number."

I checked the number of COA on the underside of my laptop and re-tried several times, but without success.

Where should I go from here?

Please see the other topics on Vista update of Moduslink and you will find a lot of interesting comments. As far as I know you must wait 48 hours and try to reorder the Vista upgrade.

Post here on Toshiba page will not help you because all of this is controlled by Moduslink and according to the information of a PC magazine here Moduslink is owned by Microsoft. Toshiba is to give CDs to upgrade with all the drivers, tools and utilities for the Vista operating system. It's nothing more than that.

    Problem with upgrade > Moduslink!

I can't find the answer to a simple question of how to get my free upgrade to Vista and what I need to do and where I need to send the information. I bought my laptop in November and the right am to the free update.

Toshiba makes it deliberately hard to find while they can make money off of not providing the info, so people give up? I'm going nuts trying to find the info.

Good luck! You have more chance get Vista drivers Toshiba as a free update. Basically, they announce the offer available only in the United States, in Europe, you will pay a company called Moduslink.
