Recently, I started the download for Windows 10 using 'media creation tool. When the Setup program is started, it got stuck on "check updates", it's over an hour now and it is still stuck at 0%. What am I supposed to do?

There are actually two options in creating media tool:

    • Update this PC now: Automatic Download, Installation. You don't need to do anything. You try this option.
    • Create an installation media for PC:Download an Installation file. When downloaded and opened, you find a setup.exe to run the Inplace upgrade. Make sure you only download the installation media according to your system.

  • Upgrade Windows 10 stuck at 99%; Windows Update works 100%

I try to update my Windows 7 Pro - 64 bit for Windows 10.  I did it on 2 of my computers without a problem.  But my laptop is 99% and crashes.  I rebooted and rebooted several times.  Windows update to W7 now fails on this computer and running a CPU at 100% all the time.  My last attempt I let it run for more than 30 hours now, no luck.  I ran fixit tool from Windows update, which reports that it has fixed the update delivers but on restarts Windows Update runs a CPU at 100%.  Why is it so difficult?

Downloaded 10 Windows ISO and burned it to a DVD.  I started the update, and he informed me that I had to uninstall a program, "Daemon Tools".  I did this and installation (continued).  Got to a screen that says something like "ok lets go" and the computer booted Windows 10 where I could see the desktop and icons where there is in Windows 7.  The computer quickly locked up with a constant buzz from the speakers and all totally insensitive.  I need to reset the computer by holding the power button.  The computer started and asked my password, and the computer again locked in the boot process.  On the third reboot that I was able to evaluate on the desk and the computer has not yet locked.

Startup time MUCH longer have with Windows 10 compared to Windows 7 so far.

Another observation - the menus when right click on the taskbar or the desktop are fine lines and without words.  I can see the arrow to open the menus, but they are also white.  The fourth reboot, now I have menus from the taskbar and desktop.

The following observation - windows on this installation of Windows 10 look more like Windows 8 with residents of resizing not faded out but solid.  In fact, I prefer it but have not been able to figure out how to get this on my other computers Windows 10.

-ISO installation finally worked, multiple reboots appear to be necessary to ensure that everything works correctly (why?).  One program seemed to be preventing the installation of Windows 10 (Daemon Tools), but previous attempts have not informed me this.  We'll see what happens here...

I bought an upgrade to ultimate from windows 7, but I see that I started at ultimate level for XP and I'm running 7 home version and he did not notice until what I had already opened the package and I can't take back. It will modernize the windows 7 I have?
    Thanks Robert

Yes, you can use to upgrade to Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 Home Basic or Home Premium.

If the license for Windows 7 Professional, you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade to Windows 7 Edition Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional. First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click on the option enter a key, enter the key of Windows 7 Professional on demand, click Next, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement, click on upgrade, wait while the software upgrades, (it may take 10 minutes or more depending on the if updates are required) your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify you updating the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a window will appear notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional your files, programs and settings retained.

    -Thank you

I don't think running Setup in win - 10 iso care what existing updates exist it is pretty much do a upgrade on the spot if this is the option you choose to

Personally, I'd be a new / clean installation do not keep anything for conflict with the victory-10

So this would first create a system image where you are now so that if the upgrade fails at least you can restore the image from without having to re - install the previous operating system

It is best to perform the system image

    http://www.Macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx

But if the stalls and errors occur, I'd not impulsive and force the upgrade, but that's just me

If it is difficult, now waiting for the installation of win - 10 to be less than perfect.

And could be the reason for which the stall occurs = it gives you a heads up stop :)

Check the website for the computer factory.

  • My Windows 7 Upgrade is still stuck at 62%, even after downloading the patch Microsoft Fix It several times.

I tried several times to upgrade to Windows 7 Windows Vista Home Premium. It goes through all the steps, but at the last stage, at 62 he gets stuck, then stops, restarts and said then the upgrade has failed and that Windows Vista will be restored.
I found several sites that give a link to a Microsoft Fix It tool that should take care of this problem. I downloaded this patch Fix It, but the upgrade is still stuck at 62%. What can I do on this please?

If possible, try to do a restore of Windows Vista and try the following:

1 disable any security software before you attempt to upgrade or do a clean install.
    2. make sure that your computer is updated (devices and applications)
    3. disconnect all external devices before installing.
    4. check your hard disk for errors:
    Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
    Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: chkdsk /f /r
When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and will try to correct them.

In addition, run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, it will scan your system and provide a report telling you if your PC can run Windows 7, and if there is no compatibility problems with your hardware or programs.
