Upgrade xp 32 bit to Win 7 64 bit new car issue

O.K. I realize there has been a lot of questions and answers on this topic.  I'm still a little confused. Here's my problem. I have a workstation HP xw4400 Intel Pentium 3.4 Ghz.  He is currently 32-bit XP.  The walk inside only 100Gig and has been partitioned. (I wasn't the one who made it)  I want to move to 7 64 bit and install a new 500 GB drive. I backed up all my data and bought more memory and a new SATA drive.  I want to remove the old drive, using one day who, as a backup to disk, but for now, I have everything I need..., install a new drive and install windows 7 64 bit (upgrade).  I have HP a HP disc that says OS.  This disc has xp on it, I also have my xp software PID number. I can see it in the general tab, under xp.  Is this enough for verification? What are the steps to a clean drive using upgrade 64-bit Windows 7 with a new drive...  Again sorry for the questions again and again... but everyone has different problems...

Mike

You first need to reinstall Windows XP on the new drive, then you can do a custom installation of Windows 7 64 bit on it.

    Hi, Eduardo:

    You can try it.

I know it works if you have a retail upgrade key which means that it is good for 32 or 64 bit.

I don't know an ISO file that you get off the internet is an OEM file.

If this is the case, it will not work. If this isn't the case, I doubt it will be.

I have dealt only with the installations of Windows 7 using OEM disks or retail upgrade.

Basically, the key that you use must be the same as the installation disc.

OEM disc / ISO good with the key on the bottom of your portable forest 32 or 64 OEM.

Plenty of retail disc / ISO only good with the full commercial product key, you get the box or the e-mail sent to you - 32 or 64 bit.

The retail upgrade disc / ISO only good with the retail upgrade key, you get in the box or the e-mail sent to you - 32 or 64-bit.

Upgrade Express disc / ISO only good with the upgrade retail or upgrade Express key - 32 or 64-bit if you have a disk.

I used a disk of 64 bit Vista Business anytime upgrade to upgrade Vista Home Premium 64 bit update, and I was able to use the key from Vista Business 32 bit provided with the 32-bit disk (I had a 32-bit Vista Business retail box update but they come only with discs of 32 bits at the time and you had to order a CD of) 64-bit and pay $10. You can't even not the disks in 64-bit vista to MS.

    Hope this helps,

  • Windows 8.1 upgrade is not possible because win 8 is not enabled

A few months ago, I bought a new laptop of Toshiba Satallite with 8 Windows preinstalled
Now I want to upgrade Windows 8 to 8.1 Windows. But I don't see the upgrade of Windows 8.1 in Windows store. I think it's because my current installed windows seems not you be activated...

When I try to activate, I get error: 0xC004F074.
I found a solution using the command: SLUI 3 and then enter the product key to activate it, but I don't have a product key! There is no sticker with a product key on the laptop.

Could someone help me with this question, so I can activate my current installation of Windows 8 and upgrade to Windows 8.1?

    Hello

I had some problems with an upgrade to 8.1 to win in the past...
Finally, I managed to install the Windows 8.1 update once the laptop has been set back to factory settings.

I'm not sure if this should be done in your case, but where the 8.1 Win update is not possible after installing all the windows updates, you should reset the PC back to factory settings. After that the upgrade should work.

  • Satellite A500 overheating after upgrade to 64-bit windows

    Hey,.

I just upgraded to 64-bit and my GPU temperature was very high, around 60 degrees Celsius. When I start a game, it goes up to 107. When I had 32-bit running that I never had this problem, I could play a game without the laptop computer overheating. I thought at first it was a problem with the drivers, or that im missing something.
I've updated the bios, every other driver that I could find for my laptop computer and repeatable reinstalled the drivers for video card without change.
Now, I tried to find how to change the fan settings, I noticed the fan starts to run fast enough to hear at 55ish degrees and I want to decrease the aswells parameter to increase the speed of the fan.
I tried Speedfan, and like 5 other programs where none of them worked.
I'm also afraid if I just reinstall 32 bits that I'm having the same problem, because there might be some kind of driver or utility, that I lost in the format.

Is there a way I can fix this? Is there a Toshiba utility or something that I might have missed?
The A500 is not compatible with 64 bit? The settings of the fan can be changed?

    Thanks in advance

  • Please tell me if the laptop HP Elitebook 8440p can be upgraded to 64-bit

I currently have a portable 32-bit HP Elitebook 8440p, running Windows 7. I was wondering if I could upgrade to 64 - bit, so I can actually use more RAM than only 2.98 GB. Please say that I can, I would be so happy. I'm not 100% sure if this is the phone I have, but I think it might be, not sure. http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/document.jsp?objectID=c02030597&prodSeriesId=409587...
Is my product number: SK119UC #ABA if this is of no use.

    Hello:

You can run a 64 bit in any laptop Elitebook 8440p with material to any configuration OS comes with.

If you live in the United States, call HP at this number - 1-800-334-5144 and ask the W7 64 bit recovery discs and it won't cost you $10 if your cell phone is no longer in warranty.

You will need to have the serial number at hand.

    Hello

There is no way to upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit; they are different operating systems.

It must be done with a new installation of the 64-bit operating system.

First thing to do is to check with Sony to see if 64-bit drivers are available for your machine:

  • Upgrade to 64-bit; is there a way to check all programs to ensure compatibility

There were a few old threads and I didn't know if I could use them or not.

Simple question: I'm really looking to upgrade Vista 32-bit to 64-bit. I have the right processor/motherboard.  I wonder since I 161 applications installed on the PC, I have to search all the 161 requests or should I only worry combat Sound Card (custom); and the video card (custom).

Course I guess I need research so material: sound, video, printer, network USB adapter/monitor/all other devices connected, behind the Tower/mouse/keyboard... I suppose that all those that I have to really focus on huh?

I sincerely hoped there is an easier way, like a scan to see if my computer everything was compatible? Are there?  Thank you

Contact and investigate each piece of hardware and every piece of software you want to roll with your individually.

Motherboard chipset, audio device, device video, peripheral network, scanners, printers, cameras, etc. for the material.  ANY software that you are currently running as well.  (Most will work on 64-bit as well as 32-bit Windows.  It's REALLY old stuff that needs 16 bits that fails generally.)  Yes - all alone, you have to work... you should check.  Otherwise is your bad.  Only the manufacturer for EACH product (hardware or software) supports their product.  That is why - it is that you have to go.

Your monitor will be fine - as long as your video card works.  Keyboard and mouse - unless they are just weird and no where near normal - should be very well also.

There is no reliable way.  You said yourself you have 161 requests (this is not true, BTW...) Why so much... ?  (* smile *) and there are likely millions of other applications out there you never heard of.  Some made of start-ups and other companies that no longer exist even.  If the code has been compiled in such a way, it will run on a Windows 64-bit operating system - only the manufacturer knows.

Everything you hope to gain in particular?

  • Upgrade Vista 32-bit. Bought a third party software windows 7 Home premium 32-bit upgrade disc

    Original title: Upgrade Vista 32-bit

Buy a disc to update my pc using windows vista 32-bit. The disc has 4 netfx files. installation package I tried and get message asking me to install a setup of .NET Framework 1.1. Only having the disc I bought to upgrade. Help please.

Exactly where did you buy this drive?

The installer of Windows 7 should not be prompted to install the .NET Framework.

Try to download the installation media of Windows 7 since Microsoft Software download page or follow any other instructions to get the media to install Windows 7 32-bit:

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

Make sure you scroll down and read the section:

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?
