Upgrades for games

Hello

I was wondering what updates (if there is one) I can do for my laptop. The model is a PC HP Pavilion laptop g6-1210sa. It is running on windows 7, it has a 600 GB HDD and 6 GB of ram, so these components are all very well. I really wonder on the graphics card, processor, motherboard, etc.

As I said in the topic sound for games. If theres anythin another thing which you need, the system BIOS or such just posting a reply and I'll put all this. Thanks for the help.

Are there any upgrade, I can get to the integrated graphics card?

Graphics chips for this type of laptop computers are soldered to the motherboard. The only way how to change is to replace the motherboard with a compatible one equipped with a more powerful chip. See the manual.

    Hi Avandre,

Yes, you can upgrade hardware components. Because it is a laptop, you may need to contact the manufacturers of computers for the options available or compatible devices.

    Hello

    Yes. and Yes.

The issue of power supply is theoretical, as, once again, is not necessary to insert a graphics card on the system board.

You have zero options to upgrade graphics card.

CPU: Intel Core i3 4130 (dual-core) synchronizing to 3.5 GHz (socket LGA 1150)

    Mobo:HP 2AF7, Intel Haswell H87 Chipset rev 06

Is there any particular processor (preferably less $ 200) which would be good for gaming?

Please let me know what you recommend.

    Thank you

    Hello

Review the processors that are updated approved for HP 500-270.

I suggest that you consider using a discrete graphics card before the upgrade of the processor.

Consult this publication of the article.

The NVIDIA GTX 750 graphics card would be a good choice for the games with high settiings game support.  Looking for a 750 that does not require a power supply connector 6-pin PCI-E auxiliary.

If you are in the high-end gaming then the cost will be closer to $400.

  • AMD A6 Series: How to speed up my laptop for games

Product number: How can J5t41UA #ABA I speed up my laptop without losing too much money?

    Andres2

To provide a little explanation, there is really little of anything you can do with a laptop.

To speed up your desktop for games, you could consider all the following:

    (1) upgrade the current processor to a more powerful and faster that remains compatible with the motherboard

    2) install faster memory - if it is available and if the motherboard will handle it.  If the faster memory is not available, then the current memory overclock (and if necessary, the CPU as well)

    (3) install more memory - if you use very little, say 1 GB

    (4) replace the integrated graphic card graphics high-end focus on the game - which will be VERY expensive!

    (5) replace the hard drive with one of the new, high-end SSD

In a laptop, you can often add more memory, but not enough to actually help gaming performance; and also, you can replace the hard drive with an SSD.  But even in this case, comparative tests have shown that game by using an SSD does not result in the improvement of the notable performance during the game with a hard drive at high speed.

So, basically, no, there is really nothing you can do to turn your laptop into a game machine.

    Sorry

Kindly let me know if I can get the updates before April 8, 2014.

    Hello HKaurND,

All updates before April 8, 2014 will be always available for download via the Windows updates if you decide to reinstall Windows XP. Thanks to Microsoft to no longer support XP after April 8 you'd be advised to upgrade to a newer version of Windows, i.e. Windows 7/8.1

  • Graphic card upgrade for a HP a1510n

OK, so I upgraded the RAM on my 4 GB HP a1510n (he acknowledges 3.6 GB out fo the four, so that was a good surprise for me). I also upgraded to a dual core processor, synchronizing to 2.2 Ghz.

Unfortunately, since the a1510n is equipped with an integrated video card low end, I have to update. Moreover, some of my games similar to MS PowerPoint I put on the upgrade for quite awhile since video cards are quite expensive. But now I found two cards on my local Cragslist.

TL; DR - basically, it boils down to this:

Two video cards are NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT. It is by EVGA and one is a PNY (lead to links to ads CL where I found them, where you can see a more detailed description). So I know I have a x 16 PCI Express slot. What I don't know is how my power supply can handle. In fact, I'm completely clueless about video cards. I do not know what is compatible or not. RAM and CPU seems simple enough for me - but I have no idea of the video cards.

So can someone please tell me if these two cards are compatible? Or at least what to look for? BTW, my power supply entry is 100-127V/8A and 200-240 v/4.

Thanks in advance for any response.

Your PC was manufactured in 2006.  Version 2 PCI - E x 16 slots didn't hit the market until 2007.  Which means that the video card that you are considering should backward compatibile with PCI-E x 16 slots version 1.x.  Some are and some are not.

A block of POWER 300 watts and 19 amps on the bus + 12 volts is decent. However, check the website of the manufacturer of the card for the needs of power supply for the video card before you move forward.  If your power supply does not have enough amperage so you will encounter problems.

Two of the cards that you have mentioned above require 26 amps on the 12 + volt bus.

The EVGA 220 or 240 will be fine with your power supply and there is still the unknown with your PCI-E x 16 slot.  Talk to sales and technical support to EVGA and see what they say.

  • Can I install Firefox in a way that will never check an upgrade for all users?

In the approximately 500 mV VDI environment I would like to disable checking of upgrades for users of all virtual machines. We cannot update Firefox until we have ensured that the new version works with specific tools. Virtual machines are linked clones that are being refreshed to their State before logon after users log off. This causes the popup to come upgrade whenever users connect. Users are not allowed to upgrade, then it is a nuisance that I would like to eliminate them.

I found that I can use on: config to disable checking of upgrade on the image, where all virtual machines are created, but cela will not shut it for all users for the user with which the image is kept. Is there a central setting that allows me to do this? Or this would require a change in profile all users? And if the latter, what a change I need to make to their profile?

Use a mozilla.cfg file in the Firefox program folder to lock the prefs or specify default values.

Place a local file - settings.js in the defaults\pref folder where you will also find the channel - prefs.js to specify using mozilla.cfg file.

    pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");
    pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0); // use this to disable the byte-shift

    See:

You can use these functions in mozilla.cfg:

defaultPref(); // set new default value
pref(); // set pref, but allow changes in current session
lockPref(); // lock pref, disallow changes

  • This laptop is good for games like WoW or the Sims 3?

I want to get a new laptop around the mark of $400 - $800 or less may be possible (but I doubt it) that can operate computer games and is good for other things.

Does anyone know a good laptop, I could get?

    Hello

If you want to use the laptop for games, I recommend buying one with an external graphics card. Means the graphics card should not be a part on Intel CPU (Intel HD GPU) but you must choose the laptop with a chip graphic ATI or nVidia GPU.

See the Toshiba product page for more details on laptops equipped with such GPU

    Hello

Which will support your card mother MS-6577 (Giovani, Giovani2).

Socket 478 for Intel P4 Willamette and Northwood 1.4 GHZ to 2.8 GHz or higher processors.

Here is a link to NewEgg for a card mother microATX replacement. You will need to buy the DDR2 memory, but it's pretty inexpensive. All of your devices will work in this one. You need to replace the power supply. The diagram of the motherboard is not marked ATX is an owner of COMPAQ connector configuration. Try to use it on a new motherboard will probably lead many motherboard smoked and fried
