    Help, please

I have a Satellite P10-304. There is only a tiny 256 RAM and 30 GB hard drive.
    Can I put both?

I was looking to upgrade to 2 GB ram at least and 120 to 160 GB of hard drive.
Looked at the pc world, I know not which is compatible with mine.

    Thank you

    Hello

Of course you can upgrade this P10.

The RAM can be upgraded up to 2 GB and you use PC2100 DDR - RAM modules.

I think that the laptop supports the HDD IDE ATA-5 and in my opinion, you would be able to update with 100 GB or 120 GB HDD

  • I want to upgrade my HDD to SSD on a 13 "MacBook Pro model 2011.

I want to upgrade the 512 GB drive HARD on my MacBook Pro 13 "2011 model to a 1 TB SSD.

I would like to know if it is safe and that it will improve the performance of my computer?

If your computer is under warranty I would take a first service provider since the upgrade of the disk hard yourself may void the warranty.

Hard disks have magnetic disks called platters, that something similar to a needle, called a head, uses to read and write data.  Solid disks have no moving parts so the data is read and written much faster than a hard drive.  From a HDD for one SSD must have a performance increase, but it will only increase performance when the determinant of the performance are the storage of read and write times.  The amount of applications that are running at the same time is always dependent on the amount of system memory.  The time that processor intensive tasks such as converting video and audio can take is still dependent on the processor.  Several components material impact on the overall performance of the computer system from a disk HARD of a DDI will only have an impact on performance when the data is written to or read from storage.

  • Upgrade the HDD and RAM

    Hello

I have a HP dv7-3085dx (product no: VM188UA #ABA) and I need to upgrade my hard drive to an SSD & increase my RAM. currenlty I have 500 GB hdd & 6144 MB ram DDR3.

    1. Please let me know if Serial ATA III SSD (Samsung - 840 EVO 250 GB Internal Serial ATA III Solid State Drive) is compatible with my motherboard. And is it possible to use this (primary) SSD as well as my old HDD (secondary).

    2. do I need to buy additional cables for this upgrade?

    3. What is the rate of transfer of my RAM? If I could buy a compatible RAM.

Your specific motherboard has the chipset Intel 5 series which is only capable of SATA-II. However, the Evo of 840 Samsung SATA-III will work fine and you will always see at an astonishing speed. You have chosen a good SSD (the same that I use, so I'm a little prejudiced).

With regard to memory, this is the crucial.com on your model page showing it will take up to 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) SO-DIMM DDR3-1333.

    http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Pavilion%20dv7-3085dx

And Yes, you can use 2 hard drives in any dv7. It will take a second drive caddy and cable available here:

  • W520 - upgrade RAID HDD SSD

    Hi all

I have a W520 who has Dual RAID hard drives (via Bay adapter), HDD 500 GB, 7200 RPM configured by lenovo when I bought the machine. I was curious if it is possible to upgrade to an SSD HARD drive? If so is there something that needs to be disconfigured for it? In addition, the SSD can be used similar to a RAID?

Any help on this is greatly appreciated that the machine is quite slow with the HARD drive.

    Thank you!

My original plan when I bought my W520 was to get a pre-configured with RAID and then buy an msata and settle the system. I couldn't find a raid system for a reasonable price where I lived well...

But this might be something for you perhaps? You can install an OS/system for msata ssd and keep the hard drives in raid for quick storage. MSATA is SATAII, but where the reader to other bays are on the W520 SATAIII. Yet, I used my msata for OS/system for a while, can't say he felt somehow more slowly.

Not really answering your question, I know. But maybe something that might speed things up. I have no experience with ssd's in raid. A lot of articles on this topic, if you look around, however.

I can't get the PS6000 to update all the HDD for the Firmware recommended. I followed all the instructions for the execution of the HDD of KD03 to KD0A upgrade. It only worked on the PS6500, the upgrade of 48 hard drives. Members are in the same pool. All members of the pool are in the same group. In the PS6000 drives that need to be updated are the same for hard drives PS6500. Is there a method to determine if the HDD PS6000 were even checked for the upgrade? How can I force the firmware on the PS6000 especially for readers who need to upgrade?

  • T61 - unsuccessful attempt to upgrade the HDD using "Acronis True Image - disk clone".

    T61, Win XP Pro,

Problems with the free space on HDD - disk(160GB) factory original is more than 90% full.

There are a lot of existing user settings and the user information on the HARD drive - of the specific settings for different network environments (home network, company network, VPN, etc.), specific applications, a lot of drivers for specific devices, many documents and photos and other information.

So, we need to upgrade the disk, but we do not want to go back to factory state - we want to keep all existing user settings and user information.

The existing drive was dismantled and connected to a standard desktop PC.

And using "Acronis True Image Home" the existing drive has been cloned again drive WD Scorpio Black 320 GB.

There is not any errors during the cloning process.

But when we set up the new drive of the laptop, the OS has not started - black screen with blinking cursor only flashing white dash (top left). So, we put back the old disk, in order to work.

After cloning, we see the new disk is similar, as it is on the old drive. There are two partition - hidden, system partition partition with Windows XP and all user folders and documents. Thus, we believe that the problem is only in part "start".

Everyone can us advice what is the problem.

Or we let another solution how to change the drive, but without going to the factory condition.

    Thank you

  • Upgrade the HDD satellite 2450

    Hi all
After reading a bit on issues related to atmosphere on the laptops HARD drive, I am writing to see if anyone has any experience to do so on a Satellite 2450 model (-101), which came with a 30 Gb HD (MK3021GAS).
I want to install a HDD of 80 GB (such as MK8025GAS), can anyone give me an advice on which model HD would be best to use? Behind the possible limitations of the BIOS, I noticed a different interface specification (for example it is ATA - 6, while my current is DMA/ATA-100, and I'm not sure about the significance of this...).
Thank you very much in advance,
    Alberto.

    Hello

I studied a bit and I found information that the unit supports only 30 GB, 40 GB and drives hard 80 GB.

    HDD2181B 30 GB
    HHD2182B 40 GB
    HDD2171B 40 GB
    HDD2183B 60 GB
    HDD2184B 60 GB

HARD drive supports 100 MAX Ultra DMA mode
Hope this will help you a bit

    Hello.

I've recently upgraded the memory on my C660 - 1 7 to 8 GB. I want to improve both the internal hard drive as the DVD to the BluRay player.

Is there a maximum capacity that I can use for the hard drive? In the past, I had laptops that are limited in their ability because of the BIOS.

What burner BluRay that I can use or recommend? Is the interface for the command to remove a standard interface?

    Kind regards

    Richard.

    Hello Richard

I'll try to help you, but can you please tell me how much you paid for your laptop and how much you want to spend for the upgrade?

You know that the action is not logical for me. I put t know how many it will be cool, but why you didn t buy laptop best with all that stuff inside?
Instead of buying cheap Satellite C and later spend a lot of money for the upgrade (if the upgrade is possible) why you didn t buy Satellite A665 with the best material, best sound and best design in general?

  • Upgrade the HDD on the Satellite U200

3 months ago I bought a Toshiba SATELLITE PRO U200 Jarir Bookstore in Saudi Arabia and I now want to move the HDD of 80 GB to 160 GB.
However, I note that 1.46 GB the drive hard EISA is partitioned and is not assigned a drive letter. I guess that's the operating system or something like the laptop came preloaded with Windows Vista Business.
I have the DVD of restoration and would normally just mount the new drive and boot from the DVD following the same procedure as a normal PC. But I can't copy the EISA partition on the new disk. How to pass on the new disk?

    Hello

Why not to duplicate the entire HARD drive on the new. There are enough programs fulfil-> www.ubcd4win.com.

Otherwise just install your new HARD drive in your machine, perform a restore of the system on your new HARD drive, copy your files on it and that's all. Don t worry about the partition, if it s on your old HARD drive and restoring the system should probably create it on the new hard drive.

You won´t know until you've tried it. :)

Please give some feedback after your restored your system, would be interesting to know if the recovery has created a new partition "EISA".

    Welcome them

  • Upgrade the HDD in Equium M50-192

    Hi all

I have a laptop Equium M50-192 with the HDD 60 GB MK6021GAS inside.
Does anyone know if I can improve it with the hard disk of 120 GB MK1646GSX.

I found the site http://www.storage.toshiba.eu and I checked the two discs; but I don't know if the MK1646GSX disk has a compatible interface type.
I am confused about the differences between ATAPI/IDE (60 GB MK6021GAS) and Serial ATA (120 GB MK1646GSX).

Basically can anyone tell me if the 120 GB MK1646GSX will work instead of the 60 GB MK6021GAS?

    Any help gratefully received.

    Zoe

    Hello

There is a big difference between the IDE HDD and the SATA HDD interface!

Equium M50 supports the IDE interface and only IDE hard drives are compatible.
You can use a HARD drive that supports IDE ATA-6 interface.

In addition, you should know that the BIOS supports a HARD drive size limitation. This means that not all HARD drive sizes are supported.
In my opinion the 120 GB should be ok but it s just my personal suggestion. You know? ;)

  • Upgrade RAM & HDD on Satellite L30-115

    Hello

I have a Toshiba L30 - 115 and I want to update the default value to 1 GB / 2 GB of RAM and 160GB / 250GB hard drive is it possible and if so can you provide me with the item number of the modules and the capacity of each. I would like to know if the system would support any upgrade, as I wish?

    Hello

Response to upgrade of RAM is very easy. This Satellite phone can handle with 2 GB RAM max and compatible DDR2 400/533 1 GB memory module except the number PA3411U-1M1G. You can use two modules of 1 GB and maximally improve.

On HARD drive, upgrade is not easy to provide accurate information because I know that Toshiba s specification states that the HARD drive can be upgraded up to 80 GB. Unfortunately I didn't find any public documents on the exact list of compatible drives but I think you can improve it with 120 GB of HARD drive.

Boyfriend sorry but I didn't find more information. Perhaps someone with L30 will post here on the upgrade of the HARD drive.

  • Need help of the correct SAS 2.5 upgrade option "HDD for PowerEdge T620

I want to add the disk to an existing Dell PowerEdge T620 (service tag GTPKDV1) storage. The vehicle currently has 7 300 GB SAS 2.5 "hot, two virtual drives (300 GB RAID1) and RAID5 1116 GB replaceable drives. There are 16 bays.

Browsing the Dell store for server upgrade parts I am surprised not to see that two form factors for of 2.5 "10K rpm SAS drives. only 300 or 900 GB. Nothing to do with higher speeds or more capacity! And I'm not even sure, one of the search results is really 2.5 "because the Web site product description does not indicate the size at all.

    300 GB of the manufacturer: 15NM6 | Dell reference: 342-2016 (accessories.dell.com/.../productdetail.aspx

900 GB of the manufacturer: TPMWF | Dell reference: 342-4143 (http://accessories.dell.com/sna/products/Hard_Drives_Storage/productdetail.aspx?c=ca&l=en&s=bsd&cs=cabsdt1&sku=342-4143&mfgpid=225343)

The 900 GB is described as a hybrid drive. What is a drive hybrid? Isn't SAS, SAS?

There are several results that seem to be variations on the 300 GB 10 K 2.5 "disk SAS6. They are all the same product? Why the different reference numbers?

The H710p wouldn't even try to use the 300 to rebuild the 1.8 TB drive failure, as the reader will not be perceived as a Hot Spare for this virtual disk. A 300 GB global Hot Spare would be able to rebuild any 300 GB or more small disc. If the Global Hot Spare is a 1.8 to it should rebuild one of these virtual drives.
