upgrading HP Pavilion dv6-1260 Artist Edition

to i7?

Thanks in advance.

Andrey

Hi, Andrey:

Accroding to the specifications of your laptop, it comes with a processor AMD Turion X 2 Ultra ZM - 85 Dual - Core Mobile, correct?

If this is the case, you can not put an Intel processor in a laptop computer with an AMD processor.

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

Support for AMD processors are listed in Chapter 1, page 1.

It would not be the time or the money to upgrade to one of the most numbered 2 processors as yours.

Hello, I hope someone here can answer a question for me. I have a 4 year old HP Pavilion dv6-1260se artist edition Entertainment Notebook PC and the hard drive died on me. I have been trading for the replacement of the hard disk and found a 1 TB disk toshiba sata hard I like, the original drive was a 500 GB. I'm a graphic designer in order to available disk space is important in a replacement player. The page of product for my laptop specification does not say if the original hard drive was a sata drive. Did anyone here know if a 1 TB sata drive will work in my laptop? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Your hard drive is SATA. Service and maintenance Guide lists the largest available in 500 GB hard drive. This isn't a definitive answer that your laptop can not use a 1 TB retail hard drive. However, if you use recovery disks Vista to install Windows on it, the more great concern will use a hard drive Advanced Format (AF). Most recent hard drives are AF and Vista will probably not be able to install.

After updating my Pavilion dv6 Windows 7 64 - bit of Windows 10 64 - bits, the connection to the computer to update resulted in a machine stuck with white (gray) screen. The upgrade seems complete without any problems. It is only after a reboot with the machine being upgraded and after entering the password that the lock status was encountered.

    Hello!

I intend to upgrade RAM on my HP Pavilion dv6 6119tx model that comes with a 4 GB SODIMM ELPIDA 1333 MHz RAM in one of the slots two memory. Now can I add a 8 GB of RAM in the second slot for a total of 12 GB of RAM to my system?

Here are the details of the RAM, I will buy:

I recommend that you try not 8 GB + 4 GB configuration unless you don't mind taking the risk that it does not. Laptop you supports up to 16 GB of memory installed. Personally, I've never had a need for more than 8 GB installed a laptop.

    Greetings.

My question is not essentially simple and requires a goal and a technical answer:

Which Chipset more than 3 Ghz correspond with my HP Pavilion DV6 6190br device?

What is an APU (by default) or can it be both, chipset and graphics card?

I'll definitely upgrade my hardware for games and other activities hard.

You can't pass the chipset. Even with a desktop computer you could do either. The chipset is what is integrated on the motherboard in a notebook and on a motherboard for a desktop PC.

The graphic solution that HP has tested with the motherboard installed are the following: what you have is the only option offered HP. The installed AMD A8 APU has the AMD Radeon™ HD 6620 G of the graphics on the APU chip as a system on a chip. I have the hp Pavilion dv6-6170us and I was wondering if there is a way to update my graphics card, the Radeon HD 6770 M, I tried to look for more information, but I couldn't find the product on the hp site.

    Hello:

Here is the link to the support page and driver for your model.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-DV6-entertainment-notebook-PC-series/5082212/model/5128825/

There is no removable/replaceable graphics "card" in most computers mobile consumer, including yours.

GPUS are chips that are welded and integrated on the motherboard.

Your laptop is already the best graphics solution available at the time, so you can't even replace the motherboard for one with better graphics.

  • Can I upgrade HP Pavilion dv6 16 MB (2 8 MB of RAM)?

I have HP Pavilion dv6 with 8 MB. Can I switch to 16MB (2 8 MB of RAM)?

My only thought is that better, you hope that the PC3-14900 is backward compatible to 1333 MHz.

If it is then very well, because you can use it in another laptop that can run the memory at that speed.

If not, then you just blew $181 for nothing.

What do you do with 2 sticks of memory 4 GB perfect condition?

It is up to you.  I have a drawer full of memory unused of updates waiting to go in another laptop or fixed.

Or sell it on eBay or elsewhere.

It is the high density of 4 black blocks on each side and there are all kinds of documentation of the problems with it on your series model.

The memory must have 8 black blocks per side (low density) to play nice with the RESUME.

  • Comfort provided with dv6-1299ea Artist Edition - How does it work wireless mouse?

Hi, I just got a new laptop of artists Edition that came with a "comfort wireless mouse. The guide quick installation for the mouse seems to show some kind of USB dongle required, but nothing like this anywhere in the package. Does anyone know how to get me a?

I was puzzled by that initially as well.  So I decided to read the instructions and found that there is a small USB transmitter/receiver inside the mouse battery compartment.  What explains that the cover is of irregular shape for a single battery.

  • What happens if there is multi-core or Dual-Core coupling processors to the top with Windows 7 Home Premium?

So if I have a Windows7 Home Premium 64 - bit operating system and I use a processor dual core (Intel Dual Core e5300 CPU) are fully compatible or how they work together, given the fact that Windows 7 recognizes that one of the two processors? Playback of the system is expressed in the fact that it has two current processors. Both processors work simultaneously to form a combined data stream is a dormant or they turn on and off opposing to another so that each works half the time? Many scenarios as possible, but I would like to know... the real answer as to what needs to be changed eventually to bring together a system more fluid? My main question is the operating system and the processor may be an incompatibility problem that has not yet been addressed? I can't find any answer in the Center Compatabiity of Windows 7 or anywhere else. Or is the limitation of windows 7 Home Premium and only be able to support an unfounded processor see the fact that there are many systems that are in work today with these components. ?

    Hey Randy,

If your system has two separate physical processors (not hearts) and you are running Windows 7 Home Premium, the second processor is completely ignored. It turns on and turn his fans, but it does not all rights for the computer. Windows 7 Home Premium will not take advantage of a single processor.

However, if you have a single physical processor with multiple cores, Windows 7 64-bit will benefit from up to 256 cores. It is very probably the type of machine that you have because it is quite rare to have multiple processors co-location in a workstation computer.

In this scenario, Windows will use two cores for separate tasks. Applications will be evenly distributed between the carrots, unless the application has been written to take advantage of multiple cores. The two hearts are turned on and both are used when the system is running.

You can check if Windows has recognized the two hearts looking Manager of the tasks of your system:

    1. Open the Task Manager by right-clicking the taskbar, and then click Start Task Manager.
    2. Click the performance tab.

The top two graphs show how much CPU is used, as well at the moment and for a few minutes. If the CPU usage history graph seems shared, your computer has multiple processors, a single dual-core CPU or both.

Windows 7 system requirements also go in a little more detail on how many windows cores/processors can take in charge:

Hope this helps to answer your question!

  • Is it possible to upgrade my laptop HP 635 to a Dual Core processor?

My laptop currently has an APU AMD E-300 w / graphics Radeon HD 1.30 GHz. I've never done this before, so I have no experience in the upgrade or install a new processor.

    Hello

Here is some information on this processor:

    TypeCPU / microprocessor
    Market segmentMobile
    FamilyAMD E-Series
    Model numberE-300
Reference number of CPUEME300GBB22GV is a microprocessor tray/OEM

    Package413 - ball without eyelids micro-BGA (FT1)

BGA processors, like this one, are soldered on a motherboard, therefore, the level or their replacement is extremely difficult.

  • HP pavilion dv6-2150us: problems with the upgrade of processor for an i7-720qm on a hp pavilion dv6-2150us

    Hi all

My friend recently bought an i7-720qm processor used to upgrade hp pavilion dv6 2 1 5 0 US and I

summer giving a helping hand by making the upgrade.

Since the 10 Windows running Google Chrome used up to 70% of the processing of an i3 - 330 m power

processor, it seemed to be good upgrade to improve the performance of the laptop.

We checked that the new i7 processor is compatible with the laptop (it is listed as supported by the)

( interview guide , page 108), and the seller assured us he tested the CPU on some different

HP pavilion and it worked fine.

But when I replaced the processor with the i7 processor i3 and tried to boot up the laptop, only the LED lights

on the front and the setting of the power and volume buttons would light up periodically. The screen was black

    All the time.

Thinking I might have made a mistake during the reassembly of the laptop I put the original i3 processor back in

    and it starts fine.

I updated the BIOS of the F.1C version I found on the internet and once replaced the i3 with the i7 with the

same results - display off, flashes periodically LEDs. The BIOS updated smoothly, and the correct version is displayed in the main menu of the BIOS.

I am confused on what could be the problem with the upgrade, everything should work. Is there a BIOS update I have

    missed, or the problem elsewhere?

Disassembly and reassembly are made with care, and we took care to avoid static electricity. All the rest

on the laptop works well - I am writing this post on the laptop in question with the original i3 processor in place.

Any help, advice or general guidelines as to what should be done would be really appreciated.

    Thank you for your attention.

    Hello:

The problem is that if you look in Chapter 3 of the manual, pp 22-23, there are maps of separate used for the dual core and quad core processors system.

In other words, you cannot install a quad core processor in a Board that originally had a dual core processor and vice versa.
