Upgrading to Win7

We have some collective value about $ 5-6 M laboratory equipment.

Not to mention that we have some 300-500 and about 50-100 scanners printers and other material of office with a collective value of about 1 M$

We also have special software for scientific work with a value of about 1 to 2 M$

We tested the devices and programs with WIn 7 and found that the changes that Microsoft has made to the interfaces of the drivers and programs are all our devices and outdated programs.

Where can we send the invoice for the disadvantage Microsoft made us with small intentional changes in the system. ?

We find no reason for the changes in the system.

We have lost thousands of hours of work and hundreds of thousands of money due to upgrades of Microsoft OS distro.

In the long term, we will switch to Linux in all laboratory equipment and scientific software to avoid dependence on a unpredictable systems

There is specific consumer forum. In addition, Windows Update has nothing to do with the upgrade of Windows.

  • Considering the upgrade to Win7

Since the upgrade to Win7 for my new computer, I bought in Italy, which has Windows Vista installed with Italian language settings. Is there an option during the upgrade to get the English version of Win7?

    Hello

You cannot change your language in Home Premium. It is only possible in Ultimate and Enterprise.

MUIs are exclusive to Ultimate and can be found via the option Update updates Windows.

Run Upgrade Advisor before you begin the installation.

  • upgrade to win7 ultimate (win7 home pro) I have to disable MSE?

Upgrade to win7 ultimate MSDN Version (OEM win7 home pro) I have to disable MSE?

I expected to get a Yes or no answer (e.g. YES, they are all three from MicroSoft product, that's why they work perfectly without disable MicroSoft Security Essentials; or NOT, they are all three EM produsts then, of course, you must disable MSE!)

It shouldn't be a problem when you upgrade.

In case you are facing any problem after upgrade, uninstall MSE and restart your PC and download and reinstall. However in the case of normal use, it shouldn't be a problem.

  • I upgraded to win7 starter to win7 pro with a clean install

IM missing 3 drivers that the manufacturer of laptops would not give to me the notebook is an Acer ZE7 they told me that they have not recommend an upgrade to win7 pro. sounds really fishy to me I need to level 5 more portable win7 pro.

Please help me with an answer as soon as POSSIBLE

I suggest you to reinstall Windows 7 Starter and use Windows Anytime Upgrade to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional. Personally, I can't find any information on this model. Anytime Upgrade will reduce the headache. Windows 7 Starter and professionals are based on the same kernel, so the same driver will work for 3 lack of pilots. Reinstall Windows 7 Starter using the tools of recovery of manufacturers.

If the license for Windows 7 Professional, you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade from Windows 7 Starter to Windows 7 Professional. First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click on the option enter a key, enter the key of Windows 7 Professional on demand, click Next, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement, click on upgrade, wait while the software upgrades, (it may take 10 minutes or more depending on the if updates are required) your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify you updating the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a window will appear notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional your files, programs and settings retained.

  • Free upgrade to Win7 possible after eligible Win7RC on Vista installation?

This has not been answered in the FAQ

I just bought a TX2-1615au eligible for the upgrade.

I don't want to learn Vista (still on XP) so I want to install Win7 Release Candidate immediately.

By releasing Win7, I'll be able to install the free Win7 Upgrade after October 22, because he will not be able to test a valid Vista Home Premium?

    Mike

"I installed XP and Windows 7 RTM and dual boot works perfectly.

    Thanks Dexter!

Looks like it's going to be the way forward with confidence .

The Australian magazine PC Authority of September 09 explains how to redo installing Dual Boot of Vista Win7RC. The DVD cover contains the software for me to save a large download.

Actually using Vista, XP users, is not as hard as I thought. I can just run with minimal applications installed on Vista and then move to Win7 after October 22, hoping that the apps will migrate without pain.

If I can't get a few apps to load on Vista, I'll just keep using them on my old XP laptop.

  • Tecra A7 - upgrading to Win7

I have a Tecra A7 (PTA71A-IEU003) and want to upgrade to Windows 7.

On the website of reading I find that my machine is not listed as extensible. I see
Some people did and wished to know if they have had no major problems and machine works ok.

I also tested Win7 on some older portable Satellite and Win7 installation succeeded.
Just try. Everything that can happen is that you will not be able to use certain features specific to Toshiba because of lack of Toshiba tools and utilities, but in general I put t think you should have some big problems.

Let Win7 drivers and search what you can also try is to check if you can use some Vista drivers, tolls or utilities.

  • HP Pavilion dv7-6c02em: should I upgrade from Win7 to Win10? Better driver support?

    Hi all
    I have a HP Pavilion DV7 with 7690 m XT graphics card.

Model of the laptop is dv7-6c02em.

Is this smart upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10?
(I have heard and read about a lot of problems with the drivers are missing.) When I check my driver models his almost empty page.

Does anyone have any experience with the upgrade to windows 10? (both good or bad)

PS - I don't trust more HP and their assumption of the pilot, also its my work laptop. (associated with very important Bank of programs on this subject).

    Thank you

    1. the older system with Win7 should not go Win10 that HP provides no support any drivers for it unless it was made in 2013.

    2. your specific HP PS comment is false with no facts to backup. We should refrain from making these comments - does nothing to help other users.

  • Upgraded to Win7 now the touchscreen does not work!

I recently had to send my TX2604ca in a replacement for the fans. Shortly after he come back that I switched to Win7 x 64. Since the upgrade, I can't touch the screen more. The pen still works, so I know that the material is fine, but no finger touch or gestures are recognized. I guess it's a driver issue, but I have not found anything that points to (work) touch drivers updated to Win7.

Can anyone confirm that this is my problem? Or, preferably, suggest something that can solve the problem? I use the functions of key constantly. The pen, not so much.

    Read and follow this: http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/showthread.php?t=28392

who will fix 98% of the problem.

My problem is that now I have it functional but can not calibrate to the touch. Calibration 'touch' in the control panel simply does not work, it starts but does not recognize my hand. I tried all versions of the touch driver that I can do the job, and none of them is calibrated. I really need to calibrate; It is glaring off for me and ruin the possibilities of contact.

It is very definitely a big problem.

  • Toshiba Satellite P300 - tools lost after upgrade to Win7

    Hello everyone,

I bought an upgrade to Windows 7 for Toshiba.

    And I have 2 DVD:
1 for the Toshiba upgrade and upgrade for windows 1.

I ran the first 2 steps without problems.

But when I ran the 3rd stage (which is the upgrade of the tools Toshiba), an error has occurred and I wanted you canceled (I even removed the CD from the CD drive), but the process kept running.

In conclusion, the process went all the way but without tools are installed and when I want start the CD once again, it is as if all of the tools are already installed and it does not work.

What can I do to make the system considers that the tools are not installed?

Or where I can find another installer that runs the Toshiba tools on my system?

    Thank you very much.

  • X61T overheating slightly after upgrade to win7 64 bit

    Hello

I just upgraded my X61t with a new SSD and Win7 Home 64 bit. But I noticed it's running more hot (temperature displayed by CoreTemp) than the previous Vista 32bits. While Vista 32 was about 60 with a maximum of 70 degrees, Win7 64 bit is mostly 70 with a maximum of 85.

Is this normal? What worry, anyone seen this symptom with Win7 already? Maybe I should stay with 32 bit?

What is the operating system or some driver missing?

    (I have the BIOS 1.25)

    Thank you

    Hello

After that a few days on Win7-64 is still no update from Windows Update, don't know why. Finally, I went with Win7-32 and updates quickly popped up, installed all the + all the stuff from Lenovo and it works ok now. It still runs hot sometimes (about 80) when the CPU is at full load, but otherwise seems normal.
