* URGENT * help with movie maker 2.6

Hey there,

I am trying to add a title in my movie, but everytime I try there is no words or anything like that, just a white screen and it takes all the videos of my film and I'm just left with the sound. I have no idea how to solve this problem! Help, please.

Mm2.6 running on Windows 8 is buggy when it comes to titles and citations... but subtitles work fine.  Use a picture in black clear with a caption top and it'll be the same as a video title or credits.

Best bet would be to convert the files to the. WMV format

There are many converters available on the net... some
    free... some detail.

The following freeware converter is just one example:

(the file you want to download is: > FFSetup280.zip<>
    (FWIW... installation..., you can uncheck
('all' boxes on the final screens)
    (Windows XP / Vista / 7)

First, you will need to decompress the file or just open the
Drag FFSetup280.exe out of the folder
and drop it on your desktop. To install left click.

Next, after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)
    are converted)

Drag and drop your video clips on the main screen...

Select "all to WMV" / OK...

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

    That should do it...

I am trying to burn a movie that I made myself using Windows Movie Maker on a DVD, but whenever he progresses to 80 to 90% at the end I get the message that burns if not possible due to a disk error. I have tried many different disks.

It is possible that your project is too big or too complex... and
also, you might have problems of compatibility with one or more
    of your source files.

Several formats are apparently compatible with
Movie Maker, but the most reliable choices are:

    Photos - bmp
Video - wmv or dv - avi
    Audio - wav, wma, wmv

    Hello

Movie maker cannot capture or record a video, it will edit only video. As long as the video is already saved on your computer, you should be able to open or edit with Movie maker.

Windows Movie Maker no longer supports importing video from a webcam or an analog video source such as a VCR. To use video from your web camera, use the software provided with the camera to record the video to your computer, and then import the video file in Windows Movie Maker.

HighMAT is obsolete now and there is very little
DVD players that recognize the format.

If you want to create a video CD (VCD) or a video
DVD... you will need DVD Authoring software.

First step would be to save the Movie Maker project

I'm doing a movie with Windows Movie Maker.  I added a title I've superimposed, but do not because it is too much and covers the image.  I tried to remove the title by clicking on the table of the storyboard by clicking edit to remove the title.  It does not remove the title.  I also tried to remove the photo thinking the overlay would remove with the image, but rather the superimposed title passes just to the next image.  I'm frustrated.   Help, please.

  • I can't burn DVD with movie maker window

I use windows vista, and until very recently, I had no problem with windows movie maker.  But during the past year, whenever I try to burn a dvd, it burns at about 40 percent or more and then all of a sudden, it will say 'cannot complete the dvd, 'unknown error'.  Are there any suggestions as to why this might be happening?

    Hello whalelover,.

You can try the problems Troubleshooting Microsoft listed here for problems with burning CD/DVDs .
There is an automatic FIXIT who will scan your computer and fix problems that he sees.

If this does not help, it may be a problem of encoding and you don't have the correct Codec to hole in Movie Maker.

Is there an upgrade or the etc that I can do to publish in HD on my 32-bit vista?  I'm not wanting to pay the price for upgrade to 64 just for HD movies.  Thank you!

    Hi Bmoorecards5,

    1. have you tried to publish movies in high definition with Windows movie maker?

    2. you receive an error message?

Windows Movie Maker can produce content high definition in two video modes runs on Windows Vista Home Premium or Windows Vista Ultimate Edition: 720 p and 1080 p. The number represents the number of lines of vertical resolution and the p stands for progressive or non-interlaced. Many LCD and plasma televisions use 720 p or 1080 p modes.

  • DVD player won't play a movie made with movie maker

I downloaded the movie maker and made the movie to mpeg and jpg saved on my computer to my Sony cybershot camera. He burned first to a DVD-R and nothing. So I saved a copy on my computer then burn a copy on a CD - R. Now, when I put the CD or the DVD-R in my Portable DVD player it must play fair? No, it's the 'bad disk '. When I put in another DVD player attached to my TV they return "not found no file supported" for CD - R and the 'bad disc' on the DVD-R. So neither my old portable DVD player or most recent DVD drive attached to the TV will play one of them.  I know the movies is on their as when I stick to the computer, Windows Media Player plays automatically. Even with the DVD-R. So, this is the DVD drive laptop who can not read or what I am doing wrong?

What you were doing only works if you play the CD or DVD on the SAME computer that the movie has been created.

It will NOT pay in another computer, it won't play in any DVD player.

What you need is to burn pictures on a DVD Maker, not a "movie maker".

    Issues related to the:

    1. what type of operating system are you using?

    2. in addition to the #1 question... Why did you have to 'download' a movie maker?

    3. If you want to burn a DVD movie (not), you'll need a DVD Maker, not a Movie Maker.

What you had described, the DVD movie you will play only on the same computer that created the film.

He will not play in another computer.
He won't play in any DVD player.

    For your information...

Vista has Windows Movie Maker included.  Creating Windows DVD is only available for Vista Ultimate and Vista Home Premium.

Windows 7 should install Windows Live Essentials, which provides programs of your choice, i.e. Windows live Movie Maker and Windows Live DVD Maker, among others.
