URGENT: Select highest path?

Hello

I'm sorry to post a formidable question of 'URGENT', but the fact is that I get to my eyeballs in work and the fall of delay on one of the largest projects in my life. I'm even willing to pay someone for their time, if that is acceptable.

What I need to do, is the next process in Illustrator CS3 Mac OS X Leopard to script:

(1) select the path over the top of the page

(2) remove the slected path

(3) select all

(4) make the clipping mask

5) save in EPS

-NOTE: I have to be able to customize the name of the file at this point by hand

-For reasons of production, the EPS must be version 8. If this can be set automatically. Excellent!

(6) cancel (Yes... Undo, not cancel mask)

I realize, this is a very specific workflow, but this is how it must be for this project. Every work of art in question is compatible version 8 already, and there is no direct text anywhere. We usually do this exact series of steps manually every day, but I work a meeting a project that has hundreds of itterations against 1 to 10 or so we usually.

Please, someone has suggestions on how to be able to automate this for me?

Thank you

Tony

Notes are added in the Panel. The command "Select object" in the Actions panel menu uses the note to make the selection.

  • Less prior error: "the filter yielded no results.  Please select two paths that intersect. »

    Hello Adobe community.

    I'm a newbie to Adobe Illustrator and I am currently working on some homework for my class.  I use the latest version of Adobe Illustrator (creative cloud 17.1).  I try to use the function less front of Pathfinder and I get an error message: "the filter yielded no results.  Please select two paths that intersect. "I created three identical shapes directly above the other.  The very high shape was slightly offset to the left.  I put in all forms and tried to use the plan less first and got the error.

    This is the tutorial I'm trying to make:

    http://design.tutsplus.com/tutorials/use-a-pattern-brush-to-create-a-rope-text-effect-in-i Illustrator - vector-24814

    I'm trying the first step 4.  But I can't go forward until I get this error.  As you can see in this tutorial, there will be a lot of use with the plan less first function.

    Thank you!!!

    Waterman, please start a new post with a screenshot or supporting details so we can even try to answer your question. Guilty plea include what version of Illustrator and operating system you are using.

    We need to know exactly what items you have. You can have a mask, a net of gradient in your article, they may not overlap and the list goes on.

    Hi, I tried to do a job (using this tutorial, http://goo.gl/kUj2YX), but when I get to the step to trace the path that I did, I cannot select "stroke path".

    I've read similar to this discussion, but none of them helped me to solve this problem.

    Can you help me please?

    You need to have the selected path as indicated, you must also have an active or brush tool and I do not see your layers palette, but you must have a layer on which you can add pixels: normal layer.

  • How to select the path to a file icon button to a table?

    I have a SYSTEM_PATHS table name. All physical access paths as 'where the forms of execution are located' or 'where performance reports are located' are stored in its ranks for example (C:\HRMS\FORMS\)
    I memorized the path of the icon files (.ico) inside. The forms of execution can take the path of the icons for the buttons of this table. And access the icon of the chosen path. I use forms 6i. Normally, I put the path of the icon files in the nerve to property of the button as (C:\HRMS\ICON\). But now, here, I don't have a path but its in the column of a table. How to select the path to a file icon button to a table using forms 6i?

    have you tried

  • Select the path using script

    Hello

    Every now and I have a lot of images to save for web (1-2 k images at once). All images are .psd or path or transparent background. I want to select the path and erease backgrount possible triming. The roads are named different, so this is another problem because the actions in photoshop select only the specific name of the track. So, it is possible to select the path regardless of his name? Or how to write the script of selection of several path names (IE "track 1", "path 2", "choice 1"...) I hope you understand what I want to do...

    I have another script that resizing of images to corect size and save for web. So when I have jpg with white backgroound first I run action in photoshop to cut images and then I run the script to resize all the images, because the script to check if the image is larger or more...

    If you want more information, just ask... I have version CS5 Photoshop

    Edit:

    For now, I wrote this:

    app.activeDocument.pathItems.getByName ('path 2') .makeSelection ();

    app.activeDocument.selection.invert ();

    app.activeDocument.selection.clear ();

    and he choose only if the path name is "path 2" else it stops... "."

    So when the personal is way 2 everything is fine but I have 10-15 different names... so it would be great avoid the path names. It is possible to select the first HRAP (if there is more than one)

    or if it is not possible to avoid the path name how wrote if els if block for it to check all path names...?

    ... Thank you

    Hi Voahyeah,

    Here's the Code...

    If (app.documents.length > 0) {}

    var app.activeDocument = docRef;

    var n = docRef.pathItems.length;

    If ((n>0) & (.name docRef.pathItems [0]! = "Work path")) {}

    docRef.pathItems [0] .makeSelection ();

    docRef.selection.invert ();

    docRef.selection.clear ();

  • Difficult question, why the transformation Panel said 'no shape properties' when I select a path?

    Hey, Zuko here (no, really I'm Erik)

    I have a bone to pick with the AdobeIllustrator CC race Committee.  Before, I thought I knew everything there was to know about this Panel.  But now, I hit a road block, it seems that no one else in the internet faces.  My question has to do with how the traces of the pen are treated by the race Committee and (I guess) if they are recognized as "smart shapes.

    Here's the problem: normally when I create a path with the pen tool, I can immediately afterwards, select it and transform it using the Panel forms (especially the transformation Panel).  This means that I can choose the width of profiles, create dashed lines, etc.  However, something happened to illustrator between yesterday and today (I don't know what) and now when I create a path with the pen tool and select it, the transformation panel reads: "no available shape properties." Or something between these lines.

    I am currently using Adobe Illustrator CC as I already said, my operating system is Windows 10, and the only thing that has changed in the way that I use work is connect with the intuos pen tablet.  (Not plugged in now, I'll perform an exorcism on her.)

    That's all for now, I don't have screenshots, but once I get off work in 8 hours, I'd be happy to give them.

    This is my desperate hour... Help Adobe creative community, you're my only hope. * static *.

    -Erik

    Erik,

    If not more specific/bright suggestions appear, you can try the list:

    Sometimes, (some) things may fail or stop working for no apparent reason. When (other) possible reasons/remedies do not work, it is perhaps a kind corruption (temporary or permanent), or even preference settings which disturbs, which can be cured with something on the following list put in place in order to provide a catch-all solution for otherwise intractable cases. It starts with a few easy suggestions and safe) 1 and 2) for cases less serious and goes two ways 3) and 4) to reset the default preferences (easily but irreversibly and more laboriously but more completely and also reversible), then follows a list 5) various other possibilities, and it ends with a complete reinstallation 6). If no other suggestion doesn't work, or if no other suggestion appears, you can start on the list and decide how to go or who can apply.

    The following is a general list of things, try when

    (A) the question is not in a specific file,

    (B) you have a printer installed, connected and turned on if it's a physical printer (you can use Adobe PDF/Acrobat Distiller as a printer by default without the need to have a printer on, of course you will need to specify when you really need print on paper), and

    (C) It is not caused by problems with opening a file from external media (see below).

    You tried/made some of them already; 1 and 2) are easier for temporary strangenesses and 3) and 4) specifically may be corrupted/inconvenient preferences); ((5) is a list in itself and 6) is the last resort.

    If possible / there is, you must record a current work first, of course.

    (1) close Illy and open again.

    (2) restart the computer (you can make up at least 5 times);

    (3) close Illy and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift / Cmd + Option + shift during startup (easy, but irreversible);

    4) move the folder (follow the link with this name) with closed Illy (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you can find the file here:

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Illustrator/KB/preference-file-location-Illustrator.html

    5 look through and try the relevant among the other options (click on the link with that name, item 7) is a list of the usual suspects among other applications which can disturb and confuse Illy, point 15) applies to the maybe CS5, CS6 and CC);

    Even worse, you can:

    6 (A) uninstall (check the box to delete the preferences, if any), B) run the cleanup tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC) and C) reinstall. It is important to use this step three way: otherwise, things may persist.

    I would like to know how to select all the paths within a document whose line width are equal at 0.361 points

  • Problem filling and selecting with Paths.jsx

    I copied the Paths.jsx from Adobe Photoshop CS5 Scripting reference Javascript, p. 141.  It works OK.  It is a path which is the outline of an ice cream cone and caressing it with the current foreground color.

    I then tried to fill in the path and who doesn't.  I tried the 3 methods by using the following additional codes and changing from false to true:

    Fill the path

    fillColor = new SolidColor

    fillColor.rgb.red = 255

    fillColor.rgb.green = 0

    fillColor.rgb.blue = 0

    try {

       if (false) {

    / / It works and gives a gray fill, which is neither the

                  // color of foreground and background

    / / Only the ice cream cone is selected and filled

    myPathItem.fillPath)

       } else if(false) {

    / / With a specified color, it does not work

    myPathItem.fillPath (fillColor)

           } else if(true) {

    / / This is a selection of the PathItem, he selects and fills

    / / Only the ice cream cone is selected and filled

    myPathItem.makeSelection (0, fake, SelectionType.REPLACE)

    selRef = app.activeDocument.selection;

    selRef.fill (fillColor, ColorBlendMode.NORMAL)

    }

    } catch(ex) {

    MSG = "fill path error: \n" + ex.message

    alert (true msg, "Exception",);

    }

    They do as say the comments.  None of them not what I expected.  For the second way, the error message is:

    General Photoshop error occurred.  Maybe this feature is not available in this version of Photoshop

    -Could not complete the command because of a program error.

      1. I do not understand why only the part of the cream of the cone is filled or selected (the third table).  I can manually make a selection from the path to the PS and it also only selects the part of the ice cream.  All lines are scratched.  Only the upper part is filled or selected.

      2. FillPath does not work why?

    I can provide the script if necessary.  I'm an experienced programmer but new Photoshop scripts.  Is this a bug or I do something wrong?

    Thanks for any help.

    It is not a bug. The path that you created has 3 open subpaths with two lines. Barrier does not work on open lines. It will fill the arches open and/or closed paths.

    One way to fill the cone would be to create as a point three closed the path instead of only two lines.

  • Select a path in another way

    I feel as if it was something I taught me in school... but its been like 10 years and also its possible it was for a different program...

    but I think it was for illustrator

    Ok.

    say you have a path, lets say a circle. and you give a fill

    then, you make another circle above it, bigger than the previous circle and the cover completely.

    is there a way to select the smaller below path without having to change the mode of the work

    Looks like I've learned a way where, with the selection tool, you would hold a key. Click on the upper circle (he would choose it)... then click on in the same place... and now the key would make cycle path under and select instead...

    is this correct and how do you it (key) or am I thinking of another program.

    I feel like there must be a way to select as that cycle because it is roads that are straight each other... Let me know if you know.

    Thank you

    The click-through behavior you describe works in Indesign, Photoshop, Xpress, as well as a few other applications. (hold down the Ctrl or command key) Unfortunately it does not work in Illustrator.

    In addition to other methods posted here, you can use the layers panel and simply click on the small circle to the right of the layer that contains the object to select.

  • Problem to select the path

    Hello

    Have a problem with a file that someone sent me.

    I couldn't choose any path. In any way. I am a newbie. Some paths are green little marked blue.

    Could someone help?

    Just because you said that he is out of line.  Wait times are down the past two days now...

    VELICS, look in your layers palette.  The two layers you want are locked.  To unlock layers, click on the icons of lock beside the layers you want unlocked.

    In addition, all in your outline layer is grouped, making seemingly impossible to select objects or a path.  In the menu item-> Ungroup to, uh, it separate.

  • TestStand 2014 freezes when I select a path from the project during an Action LabVIEW using LabVIEW TERM 2014

    In the company that I work, we have a solution that uses the two TestStand 2014 and 2014 LabVIEW.

    We work with the development version of the two, but we are deploying our automation using TestStand and Labview Runtime engine 2014.

    We tried to deploy a new station, but during the analysis of our project, the User Interface for Teststand (version Deploy) froze.

    I tried several things and decided to install a full version of TestStand 2014 and 2014 LabVIEW to try to debug the problem.

    What I've discovered is that when I create a new sequence in TestStand, add a VI Action and try to load the path to the project, the TestStand freezes if I use the adapter Runtime.

    If I go to the LabVIEW development system adapter in TestStand, it works. However, I need to use the Runtime since it's free while the LabVIEW Development is paid.

    We already use our solution in other places, and this is the first time, it never happened. The only post I found online that had something to do with this issue is this.

    If I remove the path of the project and call the VI himself, as "dvu", said in his second post, it works.

    However, it is something not good to do in our automation together, since we have several calls from LabVIEW.

    Any ideas on how to do this only works with 2014 DURATION and 2014 Runtime LabVIEW TestStand?

    Thank you!

    Thanks a lot Stop_Luke_and_Listen, but the guy where the deployment was made called the support NEITHER and they couldn't find the problem, so they formatted the PC.

    Now it works very well, so I won't be able to generate the report. It would have been a great idea.

    Thank you!

    SOLUTION: Format the PC and reinstall.
