URL patterns for the suite Microsoft Office for ipad

Hello

I'm trying to implement a communication inter-app with an application I created.  I wish I could press a button in my app and have a xls document that I put on my web server that is open in Excel of IOS app.  To do this, I know that I must make use of URL patterns.  I can get the button to open the Excel application itself using ms-excel: / /, but I can't seem to open the server document in the application.

I tried the following:

MS-excel://HTMLResources/file.xls (referencing in the resources folder)

ms-excel: / /http://www.yoursite.com/fIslands/file.xls (reference directly via a url)

These two options just open Excel, but not the document.

I even tried to put in a superposition of web using snippets html such as referenced here: http://blogs.adobe.com/jlockman/2013/04/05/launching-external-apps-from-a-dps-folio/

No luck.

Someone has ideas, or are be familiar with URL patterns customized to the Office for ipad?

I know that the office suite for ipad is relatively new, so I wonder if anyone out there is familiar with URL patterns customized to the Office for ipad. For any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

Allison

Another note: I tried the same thing with Expert PDF and it works: (the app uses the URL window PDFE)

Thus,.

PDFE http://yoursite.com/files/file.PDF

Open the file.PDF in PDF Expert.

URL of the file must be encoded and preceded office settings: ms-excel: fiction | u |

For example,.

MS-excel: fiction | u | http % 3 a % 2F % www.yoursite.com%2Ffiles%2Ffile.xls 2F

  • The 2007 Microsoft Office programs do not appear in the list of default programs

Hey there - I'll have a few courses of weird stuff.

I have both OpenOffice.org and Microsoft Office 2007 is installed on my Windows 7 computer and I would like to use Microsoft Office as the default for all files, it can open, but he does not appear in the list of default programs.

Indeed, with the exception of Microsoft Office Outlook, none of my Microsoft Office 2007 applications appear in the list of default programs!

OpenOffice.org appears, and when I click on it in the list and click Choose defaults for this program of the defaults are already defined for the equivalent Microsoft Office application.  But there are some associations (such as text files) that are not correctly linked and possibly others that I don't know.  I would like to click Microsoft Word, and then click set this program as default so that it automatically opens all the files it can.

I appreciate the help that you might be able to offer.

If you click on all programs above the Orb in the list you will find Microsoft Office 2007, click the folder and it opens to reveal Word, excel etc. You can right-click on the word etc. and choose PIN to the start menu or the taskbar somewhere else. I have pin and then in the start menu for convenience.

It may be that quite simply, the update did not apply to me or Microsoft have resolved anyway. Thanks again.

  • How do we get the free Microsoft Office 2010 software download?

About a month and a 1/2 ago when my daughter and I bought the software of Microsoft OFFICE STANDARD 2007, we were told that it would be entitled to a free to the new version of 2010 update when it comes out. Now that it's out, how can we get the free download?

    C8herub44

You need to speak with the seller who sold you the product.  They are the ones who will get the free updates, if warranted.  It is not made by Microsoft unless it was purchased directly from Microsoft.  If this is the case, after back and I know what the process is doing for you.

    I hope this helps.
