  Hi, I do not understand how to do this in Photoshop. In After Effects, which I use a lot, it's easy. For example, I have a layer with semi transparent, transparent opaque areas. I understand how to use a layer mask and draw on the same layer to create spaces treansparent. But I want to use a layer of separante, or even a separate image.

  Hello. I am having trouble with my project.

  I have a video with subtitles and subtitle down background. The subtitle is at 50% opacity, you can therefore still a bit see through it. I want to make it look slick and apply the blur of the main home, but only the part that is covered by the bottom of subtitle. I can't draw the mask manually, because real captions and background are animated, so if I had to draw the mask manually I have to go frame by frame, which would take me literally days.

  I hope I did my clear explanation. If this isn't the case, basically, I need to clip one area allows you to create an area of masking to another clip. The clip is also animated, so the mask must adapt accordingly. I tried to find a solution for hours without success.

  I'm experimenting Photoshop Elements and wanting to use a layer of black and white (gray scale) I did as a mask of a another layer and do not know how to do in elements.  In Photoshop, I could do it (there may be a better way to do it in PS, but I've not yet discovered)...

  Click on the layer, I created that I intend to use as a mask

  Select all

  Copy

  Select the layer that I want the mask to be applied to the

  Click on the button Add a mask layer (bottom layer)

  Click on the mask icon so it is highlighted (and is not the image)

  switch to the channel display

  highlith the layer mask in the R, G, B of the layers and make it visible

  Dough

  invisible again

  Switch to layers.

  This works and retains the full range of transparency for the semi transparent and soft contours of mask etc.

  Otherwise, I can choose a range of colors, but this doesn't seem to be available in PS Elements.

  So, how do I get the same result in PS Elements?

  After you have added your layer mask, Alt (Option) click on the thumbnail of the mask layer in the layers panel, and then edit > paste.

• How can I get a layer follow a mask on another layer in AE?

  I know this must be a simple solution, but I can't understand it. I am new to the world of After Effects and have been dabbling in it as much as possible, but right now I'm STUMPED. I have a video clip of the tree lit up in the night and my pans device until the night sky. I'll call that the layer 'tree '. I created a mask around the top of the tree by eliminating black empty space and leaving the illuminated tree. In this tree layer pans device until the night sky, but the night sky is nothing but a black blob, so I put then an image of a night sky starry (call cela 'Sky' layer) behind that tree stratum and it shows through the mask area found (just as I want to). The problem is that I want this starry sky to go with my pan camera. It was easy to do with the mask on the layer of the tree, but I have no idea how to get the sky layer to follow this same path of retouching. Please, someone show me how easy it is. Haha.

  It depends on how you created your way. If it was with a mask, you can not. Layer positions cannot follow the positions of mask.

• Copy one file to another layer in PScc2014

  I think I saw a way to copy a layer from one file to another, when I'm in the consolidate all to tabs mode. Visible image one slide, or otherwise a layer to one of the tabs at the top of the window and this copy the layer to the image on this tab.

  I can't get it to work,

  I don't know about the 'double layer' selection in the layers panel, but there seems to be another faster way. I imagine this?

  Same thing here. Photoshop CC, Yosemite.

  What you are to select the layer on the source document that you will move. Use Opt + eyeball to hide all other layers, so you can see clearly what you are moving. Do not do anything dragging them from the layer panel, open the document window.

  Then select the tool travel, go in the document window and drag this layer on the other file document tab until it opens.

  Then, drag and drop in your destination document. You could hold down the SHIFT key if you want to Center until you drop.

  It works in CC and CC 2014.

• Can I exchange one product for another?

  I have Photoshop Elements 9 that came with my tablet. However, we use CS6 school and personally, I find it a much better program overall, and of the elements is missing from the capabilities I need anyway.

  I wanted to know if there was a way I could trade one for the other? As far as I looked, there is no way to get the CS6 without calling to order since the new product's CC. I used the version of test, and even if I sign in with a different account, Adobe seems to agree it's the same laptop and so I can not use another trial. I use Photoshop too sporadically anyway since my personal work is done in Paint Tool SAI.

  I just want to be able to work on my school projects (involving digital photo and computer graphics) at home with ease.

  I was wondering is it possible to use the results of a report as parameters to another. For example, a report that produces a list of let say number of employees. Can these employees number then injected into another report, it's settings, instead of manually select employees. I use discoverer 4.1.

  Because you are using Desktop it may be possible. Office has a way to transmit the results of one column to a second worksheet.

  Here is a simple workflow:
  1. create the spreadsheet that will generate the list of employee numbers
  2. create the worksheet (in the same workbook) that must use the list of numbers
  3 create a new condition on the number of employees and in the drop-down list, select Create subquery
  4. in the dialog box, select the worksheet, and the column that you want to use, and then click the OK button
  5 test that it works

  Discoverer 10 and 11 Oracle introduced what is called hyper exercises where a user can drill a pre-built map sheet to another pre-built, passing the values of parameter or the cell of the first sheet in the second as parameters. Both worksheets not even need to be in the same workbook.

  However, even this feature can be used to transmit the entire result set, so because you use Desktop I think you'll be fine.

  Furthermore, anyone reading what is using 10 g or 11 g the same feature exists in Desktop here too. The cool thing is that if you create a new workbook with a worksheet that uses a subquery in a different worksheet in the office 10g or 11g and then open the workbook in more or spectator the subquery will still work. The not so cool, is that you can only create and maintain these subqueries use of Google Desktop.

  A very simple way to do this in Dreamweaver is the following:

  1. Go to modify > Page Properties.
  2. In the dialog box that opens, select title/encoding from the list category on the left.
  3. Change the encoding in Western Europe.
  4. Click on apply.
  5. Dreamweaver warns you that not all characters can be represented. Click OK.
  6. All your Danish characters are now converted to the appropriate HTML character entities.

  If you need to change the character set to UTF - 8 tag, make the change manually in Code view. If you use the Page Properties dialog box to change the encoding of return, it will automatically convert to the Danish equivalent characters HTML character entities.

• Morphing one form of mask to another always turns on itself

  I tried to take two very basic mask paths (8 vectors) and to pass from one to the other. Whenever I do that (any summits I select as first Summit) they always interpolate by flipping around for the second mask, which makes the effect morphing ridiculous of course. It is not just follow the logical steps to simply make an easy transition, but it all goes crazy and makes a loop on itself, if that makes sense. I looked into using the Interpolation of mask option, but that just seems to create several keys of the same wacky morphing images.  Is it possible to 'say' After Effects to follow just the obvious (or vice versa) is the path to one mask to another, or some kind of script or something to tell him what to do?

  I have also been copy / paste two different masks in Illustrator that I created. One was a simple rounded rectangle that is larger, the second a simple less wide rectangle with corners rounded. I found that when I manually create traces of mask in After Effects, I don't have a problem with the transition from one to the other, but I'd love to be able to copy paste my mask traces where the final forms of the masks have been properly trained. Any help is appreciated!

  There are a couple of things gong here. When you animate a vector path the verticies always travel in a straight line from the first keyframe in the second. The second thing that can happen here, it's that the verticies are numbered starting with the first Summit and the numbering remembers direction in which you went when the path was created.

  I think the first path was drawn in illustrator by clicking in the upper-left corner of the rectangle and the second path was created by the first by clicking in the lower right.

  Well, if your loadMovie is on the same timeline as the code that you set as a mask, then you need not _root.

  And sorry, I forgot, there was a problem with the main mc of masking that loadMovie is load in. While I was doing was putting clip inside another mc and called as well as mc 'container' then my code would look like:

  masker.cacheAsBitmap = true;

  container.cacheAsBitmap = true;

  container.setMask (masker);

  container.clip.loadMovie ("movietoload.swf");

  The mask you need to an alpha channel. If you have just drawn for the head shape layer then you do not have an alpha anywhere, but at the time.

  You will need to complete the form and duplicate and use the double as a track matte for the layer of arms or you will need to define a mask on the layer of shape of arms is exactly the same size and shape of the head.

  If you need the shape of the head do not full you can disable the padding of the head and continue to use the track matte.

  If you can use the shape of the head with a fill so you can just stack the layers in the correct order and the hand will be blocked by the shape of the head.

  There are so many ways to do this kind of thing that a screenshot would be very useful.

  Here is a configuration with a matte and a hollow circle for the head. I chose the hand you see the paths. Notice how is the race behind the head disappears.
