"Use Enhanced Keyboard on Windows Client if available" GPO disappeared in view 6?

According to the title.

I can't find the 'use Enhanced Keyboard on Windows Client so they are available' setting that used to be in the view 5 Client GPO.

Group Policy does not include this more - can anyone confirm?

We want to go through sequence thin clients running 8.1 WES CAD.

Can someone advise?

I asked around and the consensus was that the feature has never worked and it was a mistake to make it in the GPO template in the first place.  Normally, never delete us a GPO model element if it worked in a previous version, but in this case, I think we implemented the feature and then shot in the same release due to many problems and I forgot to remove it from the model GPO later.

Cannot left click to advance to the next image in the image windows Viewer. I can move forward using the keyboard

I have a folder of photos that I opened to see several thumbnails. I can left click on a picture and it will open full screen. Then I left click on this image and the next should show but nothing happens. I can use the keyboard arrows to move to the next photo, but I can't use the mouse. The left click works for everything I use it for. I've used regsvr32 /i shimgvw.dll and he said DllRegisterServer and DllInstall in shimgvw.dll succeeded. This does not solve the problem. • Bug? : Windows 8 PS/2 keyboard not detected after used wireless keyboard

I have Windows 8 standard on a new custom desktop PC.

I connected a Microsoft Basic Keyboard 1. 0a, which is provided with a PS/2 Plug and the keyboard worked fine.

I then disconnected the keyboard and connected a Microsoft Wireless keyboard 3000 V2.0, via the supplied USB dongle.

I turned off the PC, pulled the dongle USB wireless and connected PS/2 keyboard.

Locking digital led lights on the keyboard, but the pressure on the keys has no effect.  Oddly, when the PS/2 connector is connected to the PC, the PC turns on.

When I look at the human devices on the Control Panel, no keyboard appears.

I now use a USB keyboard for this type and it works fine, but I wish I could use my keyboard PS/2 Microsoft with Windows 8.

Someone from another the same lives, or able to reproduce this?

I see exactly the same thing, the PS2 keyboard works fine in BIOS mode before starting, but fails once windows is up and running, I installed Windows 8 with a USB keyboard and then switched on MSFT wireless comfort keyboard. and so far don't have to work.

OK, here's the answer, thanks to Serdar for this:
Windows supports USB or PS/2 keyboard connection, and may in fact support having more than one such device entry plugged at the same time. However, when a PS/2 keyboard is uninstalled and a USB keyboard is the main input device (via the keyboard in the control panel), PS/2 keyboard support is disabled.

This can be frustrating, if a user needs to plug a PS/2 keyboard to perform debugging in Windows, or when a USB keyboard is no longer working properly due to problems with the USB subsystem. Note: A PS/2 keyboard still allows access to the BIOS and will work in the bootloader. It just won't work properly under Windows. (He, however, usually working in the Recovery Console.)

Keyboard PS/2 devices are governed by a service level of the kernel called i8042prt, short for the technical name for the PS/2 keyboard port. When a USB keyboard is added as a replacement for a PS/2 keyboard, the i8042prt service is disabled by force. This avoids a conflict between PS/2 and USB, but if a PS/2 keyboard is reinstalled, the service is not automatically restarted.

To return using a PS/2 keyboard, the user must edit the registry to restart thei8042prt service. To do this, inHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\i8042prt,change the value of Startand assign a hexadecimal or decimal of 1. Restart, then switch to a PS/2 keyboard via the keyboard in Control Panel.

    Hello

    I have the following problem:

When I use the netbook with Windows 8 Pro (64-bit) after some time, the keyboard or touchpad will freeze. I have seen under drivers and downloads there is a fix Windows 7 (KB2621491), but this fix is not available for Windows 8.

I tried to disable the sleep for the USB root hub, but that doesn't seem to work.

Is the fix is going to be available for Windows 8, or y at - it another way to make this work?

    Hi Speeder.

Most of the W7 drivers will work W8. I'm not sure that an individual. More than likely HP won't to material support for W8 on any system purchased before October 1, 2011.

Take a look at this document http://goo.gl/CO6uV , which provides information on the upgrade of Windows 7 to 8, driver compatibility and much more.

  • Phonetic Russian keyboard for Windows 7

    Hello

I would use a phonetic Russian keyboard on my Win7 layout. The tutorial here http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_install/how-to-install-russian-phonetic-keyboard-for/416688be-7cd6-4a61-a53a-7210813fb141 seems to be leaving practice accept there is no such thing as "Microsoft Update" on my version of Windows 7. There is a "Windows Update", but there is no "connection optional update for language packs". Basically, I would like that my keyboard works in any text field in the same way, as it does on this web site: http://translit.net/

I would be grateful for any advice.

    Hi Boris,.

According to the description of the problem, you are ready to use the phonetic Russian keyboard on Windows 7 computer. Your efforts to resolve the issue is highly appreciated. I would like to inform you that the language pack is available in the Ultimate and windows Enterprise editions 7, if you have Windows Ultimate or Enterprise edition, you can follow the steps below and install the language pack and check if it works.

The steps in the link you mentioned is correct, but if you find Windows Update, click on that. If you do not receive optional update option , then try to click on check for updates in the left menu. This will show you the updates that must be installed. It will show you important and optional updates if available. Then try clicking optional update and follow the other troubleshooting steps.

    Keep us.

    Kind regards

  • Access to the context using the keyboard rather than the mouse menu?

I'm back using Windows (7) to my new job after using the iOS for 15 years.

Now I find I want to use the keyboard to do many things that you can do with the mouse on iOS.

The "Accelerator" keys are very practical. So - if I type , then

    - then I activate the command paste in Word, for example.

Access keys are also available via a context menu. However, the only way to access the context menu - I can find - is a right click with the mouse.

So now I'm back using the mouse AND keyboard, which sort of defeats the purpose.

I find no way to pop open a context menu by using the keyboard. Any ideas?

Unfortunately, if it is not a "integrated" way, it won't help, because I can't make any changes by programming to my computer either. It's very tight here :(

    Thanks for any help.

  • Japanese keyboard on windows 7 ultimate (Hiragana)

with the Japanese keyboard on windows 7 ultimate, there you in katakana of default type.  It's incredibly boring, katakana is almost worthless when it comes to Japanese words how can I switch to write in hiragana?  IT IS NOT Microsoft IME no please do not post solutions for EMI or tell me to use IME in romanji are even more useless because it is a major crutch and even a barrier to learning the language.

    Hello

I suggest you go through the steps and check.

    Keyboard shortcuts

ALT-~ (tilde): Cycles between kana and direct entry mode
ALT - SHIFT: Travels of available languages
ALT-CAPS_LOCK: Past in katakana input mode
CTRL-CAPS_LOCK: Past in hiragana input mode
SHIFT - ALT: Allows you to switch between English and Japanese.
Control - ~: Switches between the current entry mode and the English mode within the Japanese IME.

TIP: It is tedious to switch between input mode Hiragana and direct entry through the language bar. Instead, you can switch by pressing Alt + Tilde (key below ESC on your keyboard). So, if you need to type Japanese, press Alt + Tilde and start typing. When you are done press Alt + Tilde again to revert to English. To get the same result in Japanese mode, press Control - ~.

  • Unable to use the keyboard shortcuts on Netflix

If I watch something on Netflix, I can't use keyboard shortcuts for Firefox. For example, I can't use ctrl + T/N to open a new tab or window. What is going on?

    My guess is:

If you click on all controls in an area of the screen controlled by a plugin (for example, Silverlight or Flash), the plugin will take focus and usually continue to intercept keyboard actions. Usually, clicking on an empty area of the page to return the focus to the browser itself, but sometimes it does not work and you use the mouse to change the tabs and change back to regain control. Or if you use the shortcut to Windows Alt + Tab to switch to another window, then Alt + Tab, return to Netflix, who could also operate (and avoids having to use the mouse).

Is it that help at all?

  • I am unable to Type or use the keyboard in Firefox 18.0 anywhere, including the search bar and URL bar. How should I fix this?

I am unable to type anything or use the keyboard to type in Firefox. I use Firefox 18.0 installed on Windows 7.
I am able to paste in the URL bar and the search bar, but absolutely not able to type in it.
I already tried the 'reset' option but are still unable to type.
Also tried Firefox in safe mode with disabled addons but are still unable to type.
Install a new copy of firefox after Firefox uninstall and delete the old "Mozilla Firefox" in windows folder. but always impossible to type.
Please tell me a solution to this.

Have you tried restarting the computer?

It is possible that you have activated the keyboard by chance to one who does not work in Firefox.

Windows remembers the setting by application keyboard layout and you have probably changed the keyboard by accident via a keyboard shortcut.

    • Make sure you have the language bar visible on the Windows taskbar
    • You can do this via the context menu of the taskbar: toolbars > language bar
    • Check the language setting (keyboard) keyboard for the application that has focus via the icon in the language bar
    • You need to do that while Firefox has focus because Windows remember the keyboard by application setting

Control Panel > regional and Language Options > keyboards and languages > change keyboards > advanced key settings > change key sequence
