Use JSON with REST API vCO 5.1

I'm developing a simple REST client to run a workflow in vCO.  I am using perl and the module REST::Client, which is pretty simple.  I can retrieve the items in the inventory and definition for my target workflow, but when I try to POST a run, I get an error report by stating:

The request sent by the client is syntactically incorrect.

I use JSON (as is the default output of the vCO if no Content-Type is specified, and my personal preference), and the JSON format documentation is pretty sparse compared to the XML documentation.  The documents describe the context of execution as follows:

{ "parameters" : [ { "name" : "...", "type" : "...", "description" : "...", "scope" : "local", "value" : { } }, ... ] }

My workflow accepts two string for the input parameters and returns a string as output parameter.  I read that the scope and description fields are optional, and I am omitting the two.  Clearly, however, Miss something needed on the structure of the execution context.  Can anyone help to shed light on this?

Complete debugging:

    I created the document with the name test in Oracle Webcenter.

    The differences between applications are:

    Content-Type: application/atomsvc + xml

    Slug: test

    So I'm not sure that the Oracle Webcenter Content Management Service STILL provides "correct" implementation of the OASIS CMIS specification, because I found nothing in therehttp://docs.oasis-open.org/cmis/CMIS/v1.0/cmis-spec-v1.0.html on the Slug query parameter and it is not clear to me how the Oracle Webcenter Content Management REST Service works with Content-type application/atom + xml; type = entry (I mean according to CMIS specification().

    It will be very useful for me to get another point of view. Maybe someone could correct me if I'm wrong.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Mapping and querying objects for Contact with REST Api

    Hi all

    We are hoping to get some details on the DataCard management defined via REST API. Our implementation goal is to create Contacts and add the custom for each Contact object or to be more precise, add a set of map data for each Contact.

    At the present time, to associate a map Data Set (or custom object) to an existing contact, we provide a suite of fields in the custom when creating custom object object:

    new CustomObjectField
    {
                                                                    name = "MappedEntityType",
                                                                    dataType = Enum.GetName(typeof(DataType), DataType.numeric),
                                                                    type = "CustomObjectField",
                                                                    defaultValue = "0"
                                                                },
                                                             new CustomObjectField
                                                                {
                                                                    name = "MappedEntityID",
                                                                    dataType = Enum.GetName(typeof(DataType), DataType.numeric),
                                                                    type = "CustomObjectField",
                                                                    defaultValue = "<ContactId>"
                                                                }

    This is the right approach? This is based on the information provided here: http://topliners.eloqua.com/community/code_it/blog/2012/05/31/eloqua-api-how-to-mapping-a-data-card-to-an-entity.

    The REST API would query the CustomObjects using the MappedEntityId value for the subsequent updates? If so, pointers on how to approach that?

    Thanks to ad.

    The REST API does not support this.  With the upcoming release of Eloqua, you will be able to update the MappedEntityID, as a query it.

  • Version of spring with rest api sites webcenter

    Hello world!

    I use other api sites webcenter, with this library: com.fatwire.wem.api.rest 11.1.1.8.0, com.fatwire.wem - sso-api-case - 11.1.1.8.0, com.fatwire.wem - sso-api - 11.1.1.8.0 in an application of spring with the 3.2.10.RELEASE version. And it works very well! I make a list of the assets and all its attributes, but I need use this application with spring version 4.0.6.RELEASE, then when I update the version of spring the rest api that libraries do not work. It's the method that fails:

    multiticket = ssoSession.getMultiTicket (username, password); -> Error LINE

    baseResource is baseResource.queryParam ("multiticket", multiticket);.

    This because the application cannot get a mutiticket. I use the same code and the same structure only changes the spring version. Oracle webcenter is updated with all the patches up to this date.

    How can we solve this problem?

  • Import an element of configuration via REST API vCO

    Hello, I try to import a configuration item via the REST API of the vCO (5.5.1 device), documented here: http://pubs.vmware.com/vsphere-55/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.vmware.vsphere.vco_develop_web_services.doc%2FGUID-75E0F269-3D26-418E-8597-E9FC9E67C608.html

    The doc says thyou must add the request headers to set the properties of the element of the configuration that you want to import, but gives no details.  I tried a few variations but each mistake to return 400 (bad request).  For the purposes of this post, I use vCO as the customer STAYS that way.  I think it can be a problem of chickens and eggs, you have probably set a relationship category (folder) to the imported configuration item configuration item - do not know how to do this, but how otherwise he would know where to store the imported configuration item?

    Here is what I tried:

    // I have pre-defined a REST host on the vCO server that points to itself (var restHost)
    // restHost.url is https://<vco IP>:8281/vco/api

    var reqString = restHost.url + "/configurations/";
    System.log("Request Query: " + reqString);

    // Got the following content from a REST query to export a config element - this is a vanilla config element
    var xmlContent = "<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"ISO-8859-1\" standalone=\"yes\"?>\n<config-element " +
    // I've tried both omitting and including the id
    //"id=\"CB808080808080808080808080808080038A808001334613384319bad96d0cacb\" +
    "version=\"0.0.0\" >\n" +
    "<display-name><![CDATA[test_element]]></display-name>\n<atts>\n" +
    "</atts>\n</config-element>\n";

    var req = restHost.createRequest("POST", reqString);
    req.contentType = "application/vcoobject+xml;charset=UTF-8";
    req.setHeader("contentAsString", xmlContent);
    var response = req.execute();
    System.log("Response: " + response.toSource());

    httpResponse:HTTP / 1.1 400 Bad Request

    Documentation for VMware:

    Make a POST request to the URL of the configuration item objects:

    POST http://{vcoHost}:{port}/vco/api/configurations/

    If the POST request is successful, you receive the 202 status code.

    Not sure if the REST plugin vCO supports several content directly part.

    Do you need to import configuration programmatically items? If this is not the case, the simplest way would be to import the terminal using curl or shell script. Something like the following command:

    curl -i -v -k -u user:password -X POST https://10.23.12.20:8281/vco/api/configurations -F categoryId=8a978c4b46aa6b9a0146aa6d116d0008 -F file=@d:/downloads/abcconfig.vsoconf

    where:

    user: password - your credentials of the vCO

    10.23.12.20 - your vCO server address/IP

    8a978c4b46aa6b9a0146aa6d116d0008 - ID of the category of configuration items

    d:/downloads/abcconfig.vsoconf - path to the file containing configuration items to import

  • How to call REST JSON using JSON Datacontrol REST secure service?

    Hello

    I use 12.2 of the ADF.

    I created a datacontrol REST JSON to call a simple Web service.

    Which works very well.

    Then, we have added Basic for this webservice.

    In order to make this work, I used the steps in the guide of the developer (http://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1221/adf/develop-data-controls/)

    • 5.2.4 How to include a header to a Web Service data control parameter
    • 5.2.5 How to include a header setting customized for a RESTful Web Service

    I have the header parameter in the connection.xml

    <httpHeaders paramName="Authorization" value="#{backingBeanScope.securityBean.myAuthorization}"/>

    The question I have now is this:

    What should be the exact value of the property of myAuthorization?

    I tried the following, but it doesn't work.

    public class SecurityBean {
          private String myAuthorization;
          public SecurityBean() {

          String username ="theUser";
          String password ="hisPassword";

              String myAuthorizationString = "Basic " + username+":"+password;

              Base64.Encoder encoder = Base64.getEncoder();
              myAuthorization = encoder.encodeToString(
                      myAuthorizationString.getBytes(StandardCharsets.UTF_8) );
          }
       public void setMyAuthorization(String myAuthorization) {
            this.myAuthorization = myAuthorization;
        }
        public String getMyAuthorization() {
            return myAuthorization;
        }
    }

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you

    Luke

    LKO

    I messed up. Twice. Three times in fact...

    (1) no need to add an entry in the connections.xml

    (2) look at this code:

    ' String myAuthorizationString = 'Basic' + username + ":"+ password;

    I've done encoding the entire string, including the ' base "..." That is why he is wrong.

    Only need to encode the name part...

    (3) other things wrong in interpreting the developer's guide.

    Here's the code to work. Make sure you check the "Include http head" box when you create the rest service and that you provide the value in the pagedef when you create the service call:

    Code of the bean, who reads the requestheader and transmits the authorization part to our call for service.

    public class ServiceCallerBean {

        private Map httpHeadersMap = new HashMap();

        public ServiceCallerBean() {

            String autorizationHeader =
                FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getRequestHeaderMap().get("Authorization");

           System.out.println("#################" + autorizationHeader);

            httpHeadersMap.put("Authorization", autorizationHeader);

        }

        public void setHttpHeadersMap(Map httpHeadersMap) {
            this.httpHeadersMap = httpHeadersMap;
        }

        public Map getHttpHeadersMap() {
            return httpHeadersMap;
        }

    }

    Works like a charm...

    Thanks to the auto ;-)

  • Interaction with OpsCode Chef HTTP vCenter Orchestrator v5.1 Update 1 REST API

    Interaction with OpsCode Chef HTTP vCenter Orchestrator v5.1 Update 1 REST API

    I need to be able to use the HTTP REST APIs to run commands on the server of leader during the commissioning and decommissioning of virtual machines.

    Chef Server API Documents

    This requires the ability to use the SHA1 algorithm and also the Base64 algorithm in vCenter Orchestrator v5.1 update 1 to create the header of hashes.

    Method: HTTP_METHOD

    Axes of path: HASHED_PATH

    X Ops-content-Hash: HASHED_BODY

    X Ops - Timestamp:TIME

    X Ops - UserId:USERID

    where:

    • HTTP_METHOD is the method used in the API request (GET, POST, and so on)
    • HASHED_PATH is the path of the query (/name_of_endpoint for the server open source) and/organizations/organization_name/name_of_endpoint took the head or private Chef. The HASHED_PATH must be hashed with SHA1 and encoded using Base64 and should not have repeated oblique (/) or end with a bar slash (unless the path is /).
    • The private key must be an RSA key in the SSL .pem file format. This signature is then divided into strings (of not more than 60 characters per line) and placed in the header.

    The server of crypts that header and ensures its content corresponds to the content of unencrypted headers contained in the request. The timestamp of the message is checked to ensure that the request has been received within a reasonable time. An approach to generate the signed headers is to use the authentication mixlib, which is a header based on a class signature of authentication object similar to one used by the Chief customer.

    Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

    Perfect timing!  I was just finalized this week the docs and test of a package for the Chef Server API:

    CHIEF Server Workflows

    Let me know how it works for you!  Of more if there are other points of termination or I missed scenarios, they should be easy to add.

  • Calling REST API security token error simple GET method

    Please help me get past this error. I have yet to get a successful REST API request of Eloqua. API is enabled for our sandbox that I managed by instantiating different SOAP request/response.

    This is my test RequestURI

    Eloqua REST API - URL parameters

    Eloqua REST API - HTTP request headers

    RequestURI works when typed manually into a authenticated (connected to the Eloqua Sandbox session) tab of the FireFox browser.

    When I try the request in my tools (middleware Tibco integration, acting as a client HTTP request), I always get the answer:

    A security token that is associated with your session became invalid.

    This can happen if you open multiple instances of Eloqua, in

    different browser Windows or tabs, then the diary of one of

    These instances.  Please either close this window or tab, or

    Heath,

    I'm not able to simply navigate to this URL in my browser either, even though I am connected to my sandbox (which has access to the API). I don't know how you manage to get there in Firefox.

    That being said, I can hit this page of the REST API very well when I base64 encode my credentials HTTP as described here:

    Eloqua REST API - authentication

    May be useful to take a look at the auth string you use when calling from rest.

  • How to pass the elqCustomerGUID as well as data of form through the rest API?

    Hey everybody,

    We have our own installer of forms on our front-end server.  We take this data with the basting eloqua (elqCustomerGUID) id and pass it on to our backend.  We then use the Eloqua Rest API to send the form data to Eloqua.  The problem is that I can not understand how to properly send the elqCustomerGUID so that it binds a contact to the the ID.  Need this to display the tracking page to work.

    According to the data of the shipment, it works perfectly - map us the values of their corresponding form ID field and send it.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you

    Chris

    I just finished using the CURL approach to imitate the real form post that Eloqua uses.  If you look at the html code of the form, you can see the fields, it took:

    elqFormName, elqCustomerGUID, elqCookieWrite, elqSiteID

    and then the htmlNames in any other field that the form is intended.

    If you post all what to "http://s«.$elqSiteID.".t.eloqua.com/e/f2 "in a tone of param query normal-online configuration of the value, it will count as if you clicked on submit on the real shape."

    Hope that helps! If you have any questions just shoot me a message.

  • POST CURL with vCO 5.1 REST API

    I am trying to invoke a vco workflow by using the 5.1 REST API through curl. I could do GET without any issue; but POST always gives me the 400 bad request error below. I want to use json instead of xml, so I passed in "Content-Type: application/json". I am using windows curl.

    Initially I tried to create a settings file to json with "-d @filename"; It gives the same error.

    If someone could tell what is wrong with my syntax? Thank you.

    Hi jiang.

    Could you try without the quotes around the parameter d data?

    curl-i k - vcoadmin:vcoadmin of the user x POST h ' Content-Type: application / json ' https://192.168.1.7:8281 / api/stream/dec0e608 - 8 b 8

  • Unable to use the REST API to start the workflow from the upgrade to vCO 6.0.0

    I upgraded my vCO 6.0.0. I am more able to GET or POST to run my workflow. When I'm browing at "https://{IP/Hostname}": 8281/vco/api/production flow ", I can not get anything more. "

    Does anyone have an idea?

    /VCO/api/and/vco/api/docs/allow unauthenticated then access /vco/api/flow/requires authentication. Maybe 'advanced rest client' or Chrome itself try to use part of the updated credentials cached (or other stuff cached).

    Could you open a new window in incognito in Chrome (Ctrl + Shift + N) and try with the URL/vco/api/flow/directly in the URL from Chrome bar (without advanced customer rest) check if the request will ask for identification and return the list of workflows?

    An alternative would be to try with a command-line, client like curl or similar.

  • Workflow of vCO of query using the REST API in PowerShell

    Hello

    I am interrogating a workflow vCO by name using the REST API of PowerShell based on this article:

    http://www.vcoteam.info/articles/learn-VCO/268-how-to-use-the-rest-API-to-start-a-workflow.html

    $username = "XXXXXX".

    $upassword = "XXXXXX".

    $auth = $username + ':' + $upassword

    $Encoded = [System.Text.Encoding]: UTF8. GetBytes ($auth)

    $EncodedPassword = [System.Convert]: ToBase64String ($Encoded)

    $headers = @{' authorization '=' basic $($EncodedPassword) ' ;}}

    $body = "<-xmlns = execution context" ". ' http://www.VMware.com/VCO ' > < / execution context > '

    #query for workflow named "donothing".

    Invoke-RestMethod-uri https://XXXX:8281/api/flow /? conditions = name = donothing -Headers $headers - body $body - ContentType "application/xml" - Get method

    Invoke RestMethod: failed to send a content-body with this type of verb.

    On line: 1 char: 1

    + Call-RestMethod-uri https://XXXX:8281/api/flow /? conditions = name = donoth ...

    + CategoryInfo: NotSpecified: (:)) [invoking-RestMethod], ProtocolViolationException)

    + FullyQualifiedErrorId: System.Net.ProtocolViolationException, Microsoft.PowerShell.Commands.InvokeRestMethodCommand

    The request succeeds by using the customer REMAINS on Firefox, but I can't make it work on PowerShell. (NOTE: PowerShell workflow execution works very well)

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you

    Juan.

    OK, I managed to do work by removing

    [System.Net.ServicePointManager]: ServerCertificateValidationCallback = {$true}

    And add this at the beginning of the script

    "Add-type @ '.

    using System.Net;

    using System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates;

    public class TrustAllCertsPolicy: {ICertificatePolicy

    public bool CheckValidationResult)

    ServicePoint srvPoint, X509Certificate certificate,

    WebRequest request, int certificateProblem) {}

    Returns true;

    }

    }

    "@

    [System.Net.ServicePointManager]: CertificatePolicy = New-Object TrustAllCertsPolicy

    Now I can use the GET method:

    $ret = Invoke-WebRequest - uri $URL - Headers $headers - ContentType "application/xml" - Get method

    I spent to Invoke-WebRequest so I can get the return of application Web.

    Juan.
