use of aggregation at level of the RPD

I would like to know one thing
During the creation of the RPD, there is an option of aggregation for a column.

But everything by creating a report, also if we drag the column and then change formula, we can do the same thing.

So what is the advantage of making the RPD level?

as I use a separate account for a column at the level of the RPD, but then I can do the same thing at value also

Aggregate data at the level of the RPD will be aggregate data instead of having the data and their aggregation and in the responses. His suspected flush of good practices and the optimal implementation of aggregation to the RPD.

The problem
I'm in the early stages of planning for automated deployment, but so far I can't properly re - open the RPD in the form of XML documents.

Troubleshooting so far
- Like a madman, google-> nothing (if this isn't common)
- RPD light up to the basic set, same problem
- Tried on another server with an export charges of an RPD offline (the most recent version of the same file). Same question. (so, not my machine)
  Tried with SampleApp DPR installation - error does not (not the application)
- I opened all the MDS XML files exported in Notepad ++ and sought non-unique value. It is 250 hits around 9 files - all were the logical table XMLs. In each case the offending value is located in the < AttrDefn > element of a column of logic and resembles this example:

You want to integrate with version control in the House and the script / automate patches rpds based environments onward.

You can do this with comparerpd/patchrpd command line tools - on the binary RPD. You need not MDS XML. You can put the RPD in control source (and if you want to use XML MDS, keep a copy of it in the source code control too - but use it as your exclusive of the RPD representation)

OK your on 10G but the view of the cube and the obligation to limit the levels in the LTS in the RPD is valid in both.
I think we found the problem,
Go to each source logical table this logic table (x 2 in your case you have two levels) and on the content tab, window background ' use this "Clause Where" filter to limit the rows returned. »
Open the expression builder, locate LEVEL_NAME according to your cube and limit accordingly, it is to say LEVEL_NAME = "BRAND_DESCRTIPION" for the aggregation BRAND_DESCRIPTION LTS and LEVEL_NAME = "XXXX" in detail, SFF, where XXXX is the name of level of hierarchy in your cube for details (leaves) records.

I created the PRODUCT dimension and a mapping which loads the data in the dimension. It worked perfectly. The hierarchy has been created as I expected.

Then, I created a mapping that should load the data into the cube and cube SALES. It's very very simple mapping - there were only two points on the canvas:

-Table SALES_SRC
and
-Cube SALE

and two lines:

-of SALES_SRC. VALUE of SALE. VALUE_OF_SALES
-of SALES_SRC. PROD_ID to turnover. PRODUCT_NAME

Then, I have deployed everything and ran mapping, which cube load. , But in my opinion the cube was not populated properly, because this was no aggregation performed at the lowest level of the hierarchy product - it there was only a value of the first occurrence of certain product. I mean:

Turnover. CBC, we have for example:

PROD_ID ID VALUE

1236 1000000002 2
84-1000000002-9

For me the value of the cube must be 1236 + 84 = 1320, but the value of the cube, at PRODUCT_DETAIL_LEVEL, for yoghurt_3 is only 1236 - first occurrence of this product on SALE. CBC.

Why was not the aggregate data at the lowest level of the hierarchy of the PRODUCT dimension - is this the way that OWB did these things?

Should I manually before boarding to the cube data aggregation (just to use aggregator of aggregation of the data at the lowest level)? If so - what incremental loading of cube data (the old value of the value is simply replaced by a new and not added in the cube)

In solutions of other vendors data warehouse cube in such a situation is responsible as I expected here.

I don't really know what to do. I really appreciate help on your part.

If you have several facts for identical dimension member keys then you need to deal with this by aggregation or select the first/last etc...

A difference I could think: place a transient attribute on EO level will make transaction dirty (DBTransaction.isDirty returns true) when the field is changed.

From a design point of view, I tend to place the transient fields at the level VO, because most of the time they are for the presentation of the data in the user interface.

Only when the transient fields are involved in DML operations (for example when you call a stored procedure EntityImpl.doDML) I place the transitional area on EO.

Using the RPD Union queries

Missing previews at the catalog level and by car. Cannot use filters at this level. Missing files.

With the help of LR4 (not 4.1) and Win7 Home Premium.

Discovery of a thread in this forum. Known issues fixed in 4.1 beta. Upgrade to LR4.1 and the problem is solved.

modeling of the RPD

I had a question about the modeling of the RPD.
I had two facts F1, F2 and Dimensions D1, D2, D3
F1 has joined D1, D2, D3
F2 joined in the D1.
So I did as in physical and logical layer joins and I kept F2 level Total of D2, D3.
So far, it works very well with the measures and dimesions(F1,F2,D1,D2,D3). But my problem is that I have an attribute in F1. As soon as I put this attribute with F1, F2, D1, D2, D3 F1... F2 measurement will be void.
I know a solution that I can make aliases of F1 and self join with F1 and bring this attribute... But who will create the additional join I want that... Is there an alternative?

First of all you are not supposed to have an attribute in F1!

Why? Because you set the level of content on F1 to have F1 values when using D2 and D3 (not the consistent dimension D1).

If you don't think you need to do the same thing for the F1 F2-related attribute?

The conclusion is that you've got: F1 does not have any attribute, because it is a fact table, it go out in a dimension and define the level of content.

Create the additional join I want

You don't have to pay for every single join, so there is no reason to "do not want" a join because this is how the tool works.

OBIEE 11.1.1.7.1 Cluster - unable to deploy the RPD on Node1 (node2 works very well)

We found a problem after the upgrade of our Cluster OBIEE of 11.1.1.5 to 11.1.1.7.1. The system works as expected and all operational services. However, we discovered a problem with the Fusion Middleware control.

When you deploy a new version of the RPD file, the system copies the RPD to:

-Ocfs folder shared (for example: < Filename > 0028.rpd.000001) as expected

(- Node2 RPD file < OBI_INSTANCE > / bifoundation/OracleBIServerComponent/coreapplication_obis1/repository) as expected

2 problems that happened during the deployment process:

(- It has NOT copied in the folder of prd Node1 < OBI_INSTANCE > / bifoundation/OracleBIServerComponent/coreapplication_obis1/deposit)

-In addition, it has not changed on the NQSConfig.INI with the new version of the RPD (Star = PROD_BI0027.rpd, default value);.

As a result, the RPD on Node1 is out of sync. Only Node2 integrates the latest version of the RPD. Everything worked fine before the upgrade process.

We have seem some newspapers being generated on the BI system when this problem happened. We upload files to this SR for your appreciation. Some errors are related to the:
