Use of PSEXEC for remote batch file processing

We are moving a windows application for win 2008 r2. The application uses batch files. Calls from the source server to the Server 2008 r2 target do not run the command as expected file even if you use PSEXEC. The-d option works from the source in SQL2000 but not asynchronous and-i returns an error. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hi dave_900,

Your question of Windows is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited for the IT Pro TechNet public. Please post your question in the TechNet Windows Server forums.

  • First CC still not not using the thm for DSLR timecode files?

I'm looking to confirm that first Pro CC still does not use sidecar files mov Canon DSLR thm files to extract the time of day timecode when importing. I know PP CS6, it only did not. Just checking to see if it is always the case. All DSLR files import currently with 00:00:00:00 timecode as technically most DSLR cameras are not real timecode in the mov files.

My solution to workaround for recent years was of qtChange allows to add time camera of day timecode files thm files before importing in first mov. It doesn't seem a big deal, but when sending the changes to a colorist, for example, they LIKE a kind of timecode to help their end. I should add that qtChange can also add a name of coil for mov files, which is an additional subtlety to the calibration software.

It would be nice to skip this additional step before importing.

I'm heading over to the wishlist now to request this feature in the future PP updates.

    Thank you!

    Billy

THM files are not used by first Pro CC. You should always use something like qtChange to add a TC track that is appropriate in the MOV file.

  • I want my procedure to return the error message in the batch file

    Hi team,

I have a requirement from users of the company. Could you please provide your suggetsion to achieve this.

We have a batch file that is short on time, in this batch file, I'll call you a SQL script.

In the SQL script, I called you a procedure to run.

Inside the procedure, I have the following statement,

    Select, insert and update commands.

and I use ANOTHER exception to handle errors.

My requirement is to pass the error messages for the batch file when one of the orders was not not run and send a notification e-mail to the group with the error text.

    Please provide your suggestion.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Robette.

Could you please tell me, inside the procedure I have to remove the OTHER exception and how I can pass the value to the command file and where I add the content of the e-mail notification.

I suggest that you write modular code instead.

    1. create a log table

2 modify the procedure to log on to the error log table or exceptions

    3. that others suggest have the recovery/return procedure an exception in the client/batch file

    4. for an exception have the batch file to call a procedure to do the emailing if there were exceptions

IMHO, it's a MISTAKE to try to put all these features in a single file. It is NOT scalable and makes it almost impossible to update the batch file if the requirements change in the future.

Logging should be a separate process with a separate log table so that you can capture ALL of the information that may be necessary, now or in the future. Enter information in a table of newspaper, it is EASY for ANYONE to query to see what problems are occurring in the process.

Emailing should be a separate process so that it can be used for your batch file current, files of future orders or even by procedures or functions in the database.

Do not try to create a solution "a script does everything."

    Greetings,
is it possible to pass specific parameters such as the user name, password, server, database, etc. in FDM for a batch file that I created. This batch file is called from the AftExportToDat event using the ShellandWait call. Thank you very much.

You can call the API. DataWindow.Connection to retrieve these values. You can certainly get the user ID curent by calling pstrUserID. I never tried to recover the password, it can be encrypted during execution?

The API guide and the workbench has more information.

  • How to use the search to find the file that contains specific text?

In VBA, I use the following statement to access the indicated procedure:
Public Declare Function QueryPerformanceFrequency Lib "kernel32" _

So I guess that the string "QueryPerformanceFrequency" exist in the c:\windows\system32\kernel32.dll, namely in the entry point symbol table.

How can I use Start > search for the dll file in c:\windows\system32 which contains "QueryPerformanceFrequency"?

(Of course I know the answer in this case.  This is an experiment to determine the model for other research.)

But when I use Start > search to verify that the operation does not find anything.  At first, I said:

Finally, I even tried kernel32.dll in the file name field.  I even tried to "queryperformancefrequency", where the search is case-sensitive.  I do not believe it unless this search is selected.  (I don't).

Indeed, to test my basic understanding, I created a txt file with "queryperformancefrequency" between text and research found the file when I specified the folder containing the file (look in), nothing in the field file name and "QueryPerformanceFrequency" in the field of Word or phrase, voluntarily with different 'cases '.

    This experiment has succeeded.

Can someone please let me know what I'm doing wrong here?

I don't think that (alone) allows in this case - the problem is that the single quotes around the specification of the whole region removes extension variable (see Variables).

Double quotes lose about $1, but also replace the single quotes around the specification of the entire region with quotes, i.e.:

    ALTER database abc.abc clear data in the region '{($1, Final, FY15, ACC_1011640, P2)}' physical;

  • Batch file xcopy creating cyclical error

    Hi all

I have a little problem here when creating a piece of simple code for a batch file important that I write. Maybe its a PEBKAC issue because I worked at it for too long...

Because it is big enough, I like to create Variables that you can centrally manage twist as and as needs to be. The xcopy command will work very well on its own with the paths specified model, but when I run it with the variables, it gives me various errors. I tried in vain below:

    Example 1:

    off @echo

    CD.

    CLS

    SET O_PATH = %SystemDrive%\OLDPATH\*.*
    SET N_PATH = %SystemDrive%\NEWPATH\

    xcopy % O_PATH % N_PATH % / e/y

Error : Invalid number of parameters.

    Example 2 :

    off @echo

    CD.

    CLS

    SET O_PATH = %SystemDrive%\OLDPATH\
    SET N_PATH = %SystemDrive%\NEWPATH\

    xcopy % O_PATH % N_PATH % / e/y

Error : Cannot perform a cyclic copy.

    Example 3:

    off @echo

    CD.

    CLS

    SET O_PATH = %SystemDrive%\OLDPATH\
    SET N_PATH = %SystemDrive%\NEWPATH\

    xcopy % O_PATH % N_PATH % / e/y

Error : Invalid number of parameters.

    Example 4:

    off @echo

    CD.

    CLS

    SET O_PATH = %SystemDrive%\OLDPATH\*.*
    SET N_PATH = %SystemDrive%\NEWPATH\

    xcopy % O_PATH % N_PATH % / y

    SET O_PATH = %SystemDrive%\OLDPATH\
    SET N_PATH = %SystemDrive%\NEWPATH\
