  • How to change the e-mail client to send photos in XP

I am running Windows XP. Using Windows images and faxes - do I want to send some pictures. However, when I right click on a picture to post and get the option ' send to ' and choose 'Recipient' I do not get a choice of what mail client to use. • Can I use Thunderbird as my main e-mail client? I currently use Fastmail and want to let him down. If I can, how do I configure it?

I want to drop Fastmail as my e-mail client and would like to, if possible, just use Thunderbird. Is it possible and if yes, how can I configure Thunderbird for this?

    Thank you

    Harvey

Looks like they are an e-mail provider FastMail. Suppliers to deliver and operate e-mail accounts.
Thunderbird is a software email client. Client software runs on your computer to help you manage your e-mail.
    They are not interchangeable.
You can use Thunderbird to manage most of the e-mail accounts that you get from a vendor. Without a provider you have email.

  • Can what iCloud password I use to configure my e-mail client?  I get an authentication error.

While trying to set up my email client (non-Apple) to receive and send an email to my iCloud account, I get an authentication error when using my AppleID password.

I tried to reset my AppleID password, but the password is always a failure when you try to configure my e-mail client.  I even called Apple Support today where they told me that the iCloud email password should be in sync with the AppleID password since the iCloud email is simply an alias for it.  After 25 minutes, they told me that I must use just the Apple Mail client instead.

I finally found the solution tonight when looking through the manage your site Apple ID.  You must create a password App specific to your e-mail client:

    1. go to https://appleid.apple.com/account/home
    2. Sign in with your ID AppleID and password
    3. Once the page is loaded, click on the link 'Edit' in the Security section
    4. You should now see a section for App specific passwords
    5. Click the "generate Password... »
    6. Enter a name (I used my name to email client - Unibox)
    7. Click on create

Apple will generate a password you will use when you set up your email client.  Use this new password instead of your AppleID password.

In particular, I think, note this:

NOTE: "smtpout.secureserver.net" is a relay SMTP server. To use this server to send e-mail messages, you must enable SMTP relay on your e-mail account. Connect to your management page email accounts to set up SMTP relay. If you have not set up SMTP relay and allows it to your Internet Service Provider (ISP), you can use the server of mail from your Internet Service provider. Contact your Internet service provider for this setting.

  • "Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed" when you use Windows Mail

Original title: loss of entrance of Protocol in the list of saved files

I use an old Toshiba laptop of two year with Vista as an operating system. It came with a trial version of Microsoft Office already installed. I had no use for it then after the trial expires I uninstalled. This seems to have created a minor problem with the e-mail program. When I visit a Web site and click on 'Contact us' I get an error message as follows "cannot perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed." I suspect strongly as during the uninstallation of office he removed a protocol in the list entry, similarly, the bottom of the list of the saved files. A check with other similar computers with Vista installed seems to confirm this. If someone at - it a quick fix to this problem? I don't want to resort to installing a whole new email software to fix this minor problem if I can avoid it.

Hello Karena R, yesterday, I downloaded and installed Windows Live Mail, and I must say that I prefer Windows Mail Live Mail program. After making sure that Live Mail is the deafult for all messaging functions and that the entry "Mail Protocol" was now back to the list of saved files, I checked the problem mentioned in my original post. He is not fixed! Another small problem is fixed now if. In my "drafts" mailbox I have some e-mails stored there and when I click on one of them upwards now comes an email with the appropriate address inserted in the address line. Who could not before. I used to get this error message, which is now the new title of my post. So why the difference when I click on email address that I find on Web sites? Now, I also find that by Michael following the instructions (below), I do not see an entry "mailto" but his suggestion to step d. type in "URL Protocol" is not appropriate because it is already there. The installation of an entirely new email software should have my computer all the necessary entries for the new program to function properly in all respects. So what's happening? It begins to look as if uninstalling the program Office has pulled something real Vista operating system.

It's a good thing, I thought of the research on other boards for my missing post.

  • Windows live mail 2012. Impossible to delete some messages from the Inbox.

    Have windows live mail 2012.

Impossible to delete some messages. Some are in the same domain. Should be spam. The settings have not been changed.

To solve the problem, I signed in Microsoft Outlook.com and managed to delete messages as well as notify Microsoft about junk e-mail. So far, when you use Windows live mail, I received an email from the same source as before and was able to remove it.

  • I'm answering an ad on craigslist and Outlook Wizard Windows wonder for the mail server (POP, IMAP, or HTTP) and anSMTP server used for incoming mail. How can I find these?

I'm tryilng for answering an ad on craigslist. I could never do it because when I try to answer the ad, I am sent to Windows Outlook Wizard. I wonder for an incoming mail server. (POP, HTTP IMAPor) and an SMTP server for mail out. Where can I get these from?

Sorry, but I don't know a thing about dam on computers. I use it a lot... What is an ISP?

ISP = Internet service provider.  Anyone who buys a PC and want to get online purchases this connectivity with an Internet service provider.  A lot of people get their Internet service from their cable company, like Comcast or Charter.  Some use AT & T.  Some use Verizon.

Most (all?) Internet service providers also has mail services, assigning to customers who want one, an e-mail address.  AT & T, for example, provides e-mail ending addresses by @att.net.  People can also use independent e-mail like Google Mail providers, Hotmail/Live or Yahoo, which do not depend on any of particular Internet Service provider.

Clearly if you try to answer message from Craig's list, you must have a messaging services provider and an e-mail address for this vendor.  Trying to repond to a message by clicking on a MailTo URL in a web page (i.e., mailto:*** address email is removed from the privacy *) usually, you need a mail client - a program that allows to send and receive mail - on your computer.  If you use an e-mail service such as Hotmail or Google Mail, accessed through a web browser, online then you can not send mail by clicking on the link email in a web page or a message without changing your Windows registry database, something not to be taken lightly by anyone who is a self-proclaimed computer naive.  Some providers of online, like Yahoo Messenger, provide toolbars that integrate with your web browser to provide a part of the functionality of a complete email client, for example the activation of the option click MailTo URLS on web pages.

  • E-mail client Windows downloaded only the elements of the yahoo email inbox

I have configured my client email Yahoo mail with windows account...

-The problem is it has downloaded all the emails and now my Inbox in the server is empty... I can shoot back (this is just in case I don't make use of customer mail later I don't want to lose my emails)
-It only downloaded Inbox items... Sent items, other files have not been uploaded

    -Windows Live Mail

-My other email accounts, it downloaded everything (I'm talking about the other files too) and also gave a copy of it on the server. But it has happened with Yahoo :( He just dropped everything!

You can import all folders when moving from a mail client to another client of e-mail such as Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail, but not webmail.
