used to install Windows 7 service pack 1

Service Pack 1 fails to install during the installation process. I get error 26 to halfway through the installation. I studied all the fixes on the web, including the basic start msconfig, completely remove viruses and spyware, installation of the system tool, etc. Basically, I followed all steps has offered, and it will not install. This OS was originally Vista and upgraded to Win 7 with a certified copy I also updated every thing available, including all the fixes from Dell etc... I have all the disks and drivers do a full install of the wipe and re, but I prefer to identify installation problem and correct it. I noticed that there is a huge problem on the web, which seems to be the problem?

  • Error when you try to install Windows XP Service Pack 3: "We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this.

    Windows XP SP3 problem

Recently, I met a problem with my PC and was forced to use the system recovery. Now I'm back to factory settings and try to install Windows XP Service Pack 3 on my computer. Windows Update won't work for me, that whenever I try to update I get [error number: 0x8024400A]. I think it's because I use Service Pack 2, or that's what I concluded after researching the problem, anyway.

This is not my real concern, however. Because I could not get the update automatically, I tried to download and install the "Windows XP Service Pack 3 Network Installation Package for IT professionals and developers" myself. The first time I did it, I restarted the PC after the installation and was met with "We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this. "  I went into safe mode and went to a just system restore point before SP3 was installed, but now I don't know how to install it correctly without encountering this problem after reboot. I'm hardly the easy just stick with SP2 when there are potentially important available updates. How can I get Windows Service Pack 3 is installed on my PC?

    It's certainly interesting!

If the cause of your problem is to have a HP PC with an AMD processor and an original image on your hard drive (and of course it sounds like this is the case), the solution should be to rename the file intelppm.sys and launch the sp37394.exe patch. Once done, the SP3 file that you downloaded from here:
    SHOULD work!
I'm puzzled why there is no intelppm.sys file in your directory C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers.
Since you recently returned to square one with your PC ("return to factory settings"), then you may as well run the patch from this page:
and try the SP3 Setup file again.
But, first, let's be absolutely sure that we are both using the same terminology. Please answer the following questions:
    1. have you safely backed up ALL your data?
    2. what method did you use to ride "back to factory settings? I think that your choices have been a destructive restore (full) and a (partial) non-destructive recovery. The first erases the disk and leave you with a pristine image and NOTHING ELSE (which means that all of your programs and data get deleted). The other (which does not always correctly) is supposed to leave programs and data intact.

  • Re-install Windows Vista Service Pack 1

Hello, I have recently reinstalled my Windows Vista Home Premium.  Now I am trying to re - install Windows Vista Service Pack 1.

I had to download it because I couldn't get by a Windows Update.  When I tried to install the Service Pack, I received the following error message: Error Code: 0x8000FFFF.

I want to upgrade to Windows 7, and then to 10 Windows but I don't think I'll be able to update without Windows Vista Service Pack 1 and 2.

Can anyone give me any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Rich

I have been unable to install SP1 via windows updates but has been able to do it using the suggestions here:
    https://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/Windows/en-us/4120f8ff-ae6c-437f-A40D-8d48794d9841/services-Pack-1-for-Vista-Home-Premium-will-not-install?Forum=itprovistasp

They include two tools running of Microsoft and then by installing SP1 downloaded in a boot environment. After finishing SP2, windows update has provided a new Windows Update Agent, which made it impossible to update. This is my 4th new installation disc from Dell, that started because of this same update to Windows Update Agent. I'm about to give up. If you try to install, I would set a restore point before doing so.

    ERROR_NOT_FOUND (0 X 80070490)

I tried and tried again to install Windows Vista Service Pack 2 x 64-bit system, but this error message keeps popping up. I tried to search for possible solutions, but they all tell me I have to use my Vista DVD. But there is a problem, I don't have it. I mean, that is, the gateway factory pre-installed Vista on my laptop, so I don't have the DVD. Is there anyone who can help me? THNX.

Step 1: Download and install the system update readiness tool to run a single analysis for inconsistencies that may prevent successful installations of Windows Update.

You receive an error code "0 x 80070490" when you use Microsoft Update or Windows Update Web sites to install updates

Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 to solve this problem, you must perform a repair of Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 installation. Run a repair installation will restore the current installation of Windows to the version of the installation DVD. It also requires the installation of all the updates that are not included on the installation DVD.

Note Run a repair installation will not damage files and applications that are currently installed on your computer.

To perform a repair of Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 installation, follow these steps:

    1. Close all applications and restart the computer.
    2. Insert the Windows Vista DVD or Windows Server 2008 DVD into the DVD drive of the computer.
    3. In the settings window, click install now.

Note If Windows does not automatically detect the DVD, follow these steps:

      1. Click Start

        Collapse this includes this image

and then type Drive: \setup.exe in the box start the search .

Note The placeholder drive is the drive letter of the computer's DVD.

      2. In the list of programs , click Setup.exe.
      3. In the settings window, click install now.
    4. Click connect to get the latest updates for installation (recommended).
    5. Type the CD key if you are prompted to do so.
    6. Click Yes to accept the Microsoft software license agreement.
    7. On the which type of installation do you want? of the screen, click upgrade.
    8. When the installation is complete, restart your computer and try again to install updates.

If the above does not resolve the problem:

It comes with Vista, upgrade install and activate Forum.

Are you sure this is the error Code?

    And not this one?

It is the opinion of Microsoft about the error code 80070490.

Method 1: run (Checksur.exe) system update readiness tool

    1. Download and run the system update readiness tool. This tool runs an ad hoc analysis of inconsistencies that might prevent future maintenance operations.

    2. Try to install updates again.

Method 2: perform a Windows repair installation

If method 1 does not resolve this problem, you can perform a repair installation of Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. Run a repair installation will restore the current installation of Windows to the version of the installation DVD.
