I can't install windows xp service pack 3.
I can't install windows xp service pack 3. My computer crashed and I had to reinstall all software. I have mcafee total protection 2011 installed with a firewall. The windows xp cd I had to reinstall had windows xp service pack 2 on it. It was installed it was automatic update that was lost when the reinstalled. How to obtain windows xp service Pack3 installed because I can't use microsoft fixit tool becuae it says that I must have windows xp service pack 3 installed and microsoft net framework 2.0 sp 2 difficulty using it and internet explorer 8?
SP2 starts xp Security Center, he also started two firewalls, xp firewall
are not recommended, remove the mcafee firewall. Better yet, eliminate
McAfee until xp is up to date... Moreover, how was xp reinstalled, it must
format 1 hd, then install xp. This is done in DOS, not windows
Explorer...

I can't install Windows XP Service Pack 2 or 3
I have Windows XP and I try to install a Microsoft 2003 service Pack 2 and 3. I, of course, can not install without 3 2, and when I try to install one of them a message, saying that I've already updated or I have an update that included a service pack. The problem is that when I check to see the most recently installed service pack, it says Service Pack 1. What I am doing wrong?

Windows XP SP3 problem
Recently, I met a problem with my PC and was forced to use the system recovery. Now I'm back to factory settings and try to install Windows XP Service Pack 3 on my computer. Windows Update won't work for me, that whenever I try to update I get [error number: 0x8024400A]. I think it's because I use Service Pack 2, or that's what I concluded after researching the problem, anyway.
This is not my real concern, however. Because I could not get the update automatically, I tried to download and install the "Windows XP Service Pack 3 Network Installation Package for IT professionals and developers" myself. The first time I did it, I restarted the PC after the installation and was met with "We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this. " I went into safe mode and went to a just system restore point before SP3 was installed, but now I don't know how to install it correctly without encountering this problem after reboot. I'm hardly the easy just stick with SP2 when there are potentially important available updates. How can I get Windows Service Pack 3 is installed on my PC?
It's certainly interesting!
If the cause of your problem is to have a HP PC with an AMD processor and an original image on your hard drive (and of course it sounds like this is the case), the solution should be to rename the file intelppm.sys and launch the sp37394.exe patch. Once done, the SP3 file that you downloaded from here:SHOULD work!I'm puzzled why there is no intelppm.sys file in your directory C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers.Since you recently returned to square one with your PC ("return to factory settings"), then you may as well run the patch from this page:and try the SP3 Setup file again. But, first, let's be absolutely sure that we are both using the same terminology. Please answer the following questions:1. have you safely backed up ALL your data?2. what method did you use to ride "back to factory settings? I think that your choices have been a destructive restore (full) and a (partial) non-destructive recovery. The first erases the disk and leave you with a pristine image and NOTHING ELSE (which means that all of your programs and data get deleted). The other (which does not always correctly) is supposed to leave programs and data intact. -

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Re-install Windows Vista Service Pack 1
Hello, I have recently reinstalled my Windows Vista Home Premium. Now I am trying to re - install Windows Vista Service Pack 1.
I had to download it because I couldn't get by a Windows Update. When I tried to install the Service Pack, I received the following error message: Error Code: 0x8000FFFF.
I want to upgrade to Windows 7, and then to 10 Windows but I don't think I'll be able to update without Windows Vista Service Pack 1 and 2.
Can anyone give me any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I have been unable to install SP1 via windows updates but has been able to do it using the suggestions here:
https://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/Windows/en-us/4120f8ff-ae6c-437f-A40D-8d48794d9841/services-Pack-1-for-Vista-Home-Premium-will-not-install?Forum=itprovistaspThey include two tools running of Microsoft and then by installing SP1 downloaded in a boot environment. After finishing SP2, windows update has provided a new Windows Update Agent, which made it impossible to update. This is my 4th new installation disc from Dell, that started because of this same update to Windows Update Agent. I'm about to give up. If you try to install, I would set a restore point before doing so.

ERROR_NOT_FOUND (0 X 80070490) when you install Windows Vista Service Pack 2
ERROR_NOT_FOUND (0 X 80070490)
I tried and tried again to install Windows Vista Service Pack 2 x 64-bit system, but this error message keeps popping up. I tried to search for possible solutions, but they all tell me I have to use my Vista DVD. But there is a problem, I don't have it. I mean, that is, the gateway factory pre-installed Vista on my laptop, so I don't have the DVD. Is there anyone who can help me? THNX.
Hi Jason,
You can try the following solutions.
Step 1: Download and install the system update readiness tool to run a single analysis for inconsistencies that may prevent successful installations of Windows Update.
Step 2: Try to install Windows Vista Service Pack 2 now and see if it helps.
