user name of synchronization preferences

Can you access the value "connected under...". ' of ' Preferences: Sync Settings... ". "as a way to get the name of the current user?

I've updated quotes in the excerpts because they I've screwed up.

  • user name displays wrong in capital letters at the top of the support page. I see it correct in post however; Passwords not displayed in the Security page?

There is a similar issue where a user asks why his user name is indicated in all cases of small. My problem is the reverse of this and have a problem me of security in the way that it appears. Do you understand what I'm saying / implying? Second half of my question must be indicated separately... but I can't show screen captures and copy / paste it to display all my concerns separately. It took me two weeks just to get the support of Mozilla to take one of my questions, which includes a separate question on the connection to this page (to check under my username). I'm that raise because I can't it spend many hours just trying to get answers to things that should never occur on Firefox. It's as if it's the same amount of security issues, such as Internet Explorer a. cannot find a field course. Your app problems works, I see well at first glance. But good blood, so many hours spent on brand laptop nine just to any browser without these security vulnerabilities expose me as I am naked; just try out these issues for you. I'm sorry to ramble on time, but it seems so wrong to have so many problems on a PC new, new version of FF 41! There are issues with copy / paste, to better explain the problems of screen capture. I need to be connected to a remote control utility PC just to show all questions. Is this possible with your troubleshooting app? Please don't leave me because I'm sniveling. I must really be reassured that it will happen as I am exposed just by sending this. Can you feel me? I need to view the issue with error message of synchronization. Is it possible to address all the issues at once with your troubleshooting app? What I really need to open each issue separately because they are many. Sorry, but I can't reinstall FF 41 is no cure for these issues. Is no answer. Thanks in advance for listening. I believe in FF/Mozilla concepts.

I use a rule in userContent.css to change this in small capitals.

  • Problems of duplicate user name

    Hi, can anyone help?

I created a user profile for myself. a young parent created one for him and ended up using my user name. As a result, I found myself locked out of my side (and files, photos, mail etc.).

I found a solution I thought that can work (Ctrl + R at the start), who took me to the welcome/choose your language screen.

The choice of restore from Time Machine and choosing the date at which restore to go gave me a window, stating that no backup not found.

I guess that's because the computer is blocked in the new profile and my backups are all related to my original.

I know that I probably went back a step or two too far to try to solve this problem, but we are where we are.

    Suggestions very welcome.

OS X should not allow the parent to create a new profile (alias user account) with the same name - it just does not support. You can have similar "long user names" but the "short user name' must be unique, the short name is used for the most important system tasks that allow connections to work etc. Your home folder is named after the short name for example. I have to wonder if he was able to delete your account, but that seems unlikely. Were you the only user on the system?

Try to connect to an account with your own password, see if you are simply confused between accounts.

If you can identify yourself as the user with the password to see if you can check the Setup accounts in ' System Preferences > users and groups. It can give you something to go to decide your next steps.

Time Machine should not care that you were once the user - it must list the backups of the ENTIRE system, so it looks that you do not have all those valid for the restoration. I would say avoid this restoration until find you what is happening. You can disconnect and put the TM drive side for now, just to keep them safe.

I think you have a few options...

1 reset passwords via the recovery mode.

2 reset the operating system in a State that can allow you to make a new admin account, and then use this admin account to search and solve the problem (your data will remain in place, assuming it exists currently).

    3. see if others have better ideas.

Please try a normal start and try to connect any of the available users, if all else fails, we can consider some of the other options.

There is a difference between remembering the name and the password in the password manager and a check box "remember me" on a web page.

The latter usually involves the creation of a special "remember me" cookie that is stored on your computer and which is sent to the server.

If that "remember me" cookie is deleted or is corrupted or is not send to the server, then the server remember that you and you must connect once again.

  • Updated mapping of user names in C:\Users Control Panel user accounts.

    Hello
Windows Vista Edition Home Premium SP2. I'm trying to match user accounts in Control Panel with those listed in C:\Users\(name-of-user).
I need to do this on a new computer, so I can network with existing computers.
On my 3 computers existing, somehow my user accounts in Control Panel do not match the underlying names in C:\Users but I all do not match the same way on all computers and am able to share with them. For example, I have a user account named "ComputerAdmin" in the control panel that is the username 'Gift' which can be found in the C:\Users.I to add this fourth computer and match all names in C:\Users then they are the same on all computers, and I want to match user accounts in Control Panel so that they are all the same on all computers , and finally, I want to synchronize the C:\Users to user accounts in Control Panel on this fourth computer so that it will be in the network.
I did this once before with the help and it was not too difficult to do, I just forgot how I did it. What is the best way to accomplish this task? All computers are running Vista. TIA
    Don

I don't think it's your problem. If you have a user account password 1234 on one computer Bob and Bob password 1234 on another computer, properly configured firewall and actions put in place properly, sharing will be flawless. I answered your question above several times and I'm afraid that I don't know how to make it more clear. I am sympathetic that you do not want to hear this, but implementation of sharing between computers if bit normally takes about 5-7 minutes. But without being able to see your network and computers, I can't be specific about what you're doing wrong.

Here's my usual network troubleshooting information. If you still can't get it, you can have one tradesperson come on-site and to fix things for you. This is not a person of a type BigComputerStore/GeekSquad of the place. I'm sorry that I wasn't able to help you.

Excellent, comprehensive, but easy to understand article on sharing files/printer under Vista. Contains information about sharing printers and files, and the folders:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727037.aspx

For XP, start by running the Network Setup Wizard the on all machines (see warning in section A below).

Problems sharing files between computers on a network are usually caused by 1) a misconfigured firewall or a firewall neglected (including a dynamic firewall in a virtual private network); or (2) inadvertently run two firewalls such as the firewall of Windows and a third-party firewall. and/or (3) do not have accounts to the same users and passwords on all computers in the workgroup. (4) tries to create actions where the operating system does not.

    A. configure the firewall on all machines to allow traffic to local area network (LAN) as being approved. With the Windows Firewall, it means which allows file sharing / print on the Exceptions tab normally run the XP Network Setup Wizard will take care of this for these machines. The only "witch hunt", it will turn on the XPSP2 Windows Firewall. If you are not running a third-party firewall or you have an antivirus/security with its own firewall component program, then you're fine.  With a third-party firewall, I usually set up the allocation of LAN with an IP address range. E.g. would be 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.254. Obviously you would substitute your correct subnet. Refer to the safety of any third party program or the user forums for how to correctly configure its firewall. Do not run more than one firewall. DON'T STOP FIREWALLS; CONFIGURE THEM CORRECTLY.

    (B) to facilitate the Organization, put all computers in the same workgroup. This is done from the System applet in Control Panel, the computer name tab.

    (C) in Vista, turn on password protected sharing. Create accounts of users and corresponding passwords on all machines. You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and assigned to each user account passwords can be different; accounts/passwords just need to exist and to match on all machines. DO NOT NEGLECT TO CREATE PASSWORDS, EVEN IF ONLY OF SIMPLE. If you want a machine to boot directly to the desktop (a particular user account) for convenience, you can do this:

XP - set up Windows to automatically connect (MVP Ramesh) - http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Autologon.htm

Vista - Start ORB > Search > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

    D. Si one or more of the computers is XP Pro or Media Center, turn off Simple file sharing (Folder Options > view tab).

    E. create share as you wish. XP Home does not share the users directory or the Program Files, but you can share folders inside those directories. A better choice is to simply use the Shared Documents folder. See the first link above for more information on Vista sharing.

    F. you have the job of file sharing (and tested by exchanging a file between machines), if you want to share a printer connected locally to one of your computers, share of this machine. Then go to the printer mftr Web site. and download the latest drivers for the correct system. Install them on the target machines. The printer must be collected during the installation procedure. If this isn't the case, install the drivers and then use the Add Printer Wizard. In some cases, printers must be installed as local printers, but it is outside this response. • How to change the user name in windows 7 Professional?

I recently installed windows 7 Professional and by chance I typed my user name and the computer when it prompted me to type it in. When I had typed the wrong characters in and click on 'Next', he wouldn't let me go back and change it, so I was stuck with an unwanted user/computer name. I managed to change the name of the computer for the word you want, but I didn't always know how to change my username.

I went to user accounts, and there was an option to change the name of the account, so I did.
However, none of my directories has changed its name, and all processes in the Task Manager were still running under the same previous user name, which I did not want it to be.

Is there a way to change the username of an account so it affects all the directories, files, folders, etc. without creating a new account with that name? Or, if possible, copy all the files and preferences of the current account to another account with this name?

    Any help is appreciated.

You cannot change a user account by changing just the name. Simply by changing the name will do a cosmetic change only and does not affect the underlying files/folders in the profile.

    1. from an account with administrator privileges, go to control panel > user accounts and to create the new user account named Standard the way you want to and at least one additional administrator account. Call the last 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar.
2 log in to the new Standard user account once if the profile of the files/folders are created and then connect to CompAdmin.
    3. now go to control panel > system > advanced > user profile > settings
    4. you will see where you can copy user accounts. Copy the old account to the new from there. Use her browse to select your new account (C:\Users\newaccount).
5 log in to the new account correctly named and make sure all your stuff is here and it works as you want. When you are satisfied, you can log on and CompAdmin and remove the old account from the control panel > user accounts.

If you want to access your account again, it is corrected automatically, follow these steps:

Start Orb > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

General recommendations for the establishment of user accounts

You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. Like XP, Vista and all the other modern operating systems, Windows 7 is an OS multi-user with integrated system of accounts such as administrator, by default, all users invited. These accounts should be left alone because they are part of the structure of the operating system.

In particular, you do not want account only one user with administrative privileges on Windows 7 because the administrator account integrated (normally only used in emergencies) is disabled by default. If you use as an administrator for your daily work, and this account is corrupt, things will be difficult. It is not impossible to activate the built-in administrator to rescue things, but it will take third-party tools and work outside the operating system.

The user account that is for your daily work must be a Standard user, with the extra administrative user (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar) only it for elevation purposes. After you have created "CompAdmin", connect to it and change your normal user account Standard. Then log on to your regular account.

If you want to go directly to the desktop and ignore the Welcome screen with the icons of the user accounts, you can do this by following the instructions written in the first part of this post.

  • local user name and password if the ACS server fails

    Hello

I would add to this a local username and password so that if the ACS server was offline engineers have yet to connect with a knowledge of username and default password

    local connection

    Q. How do I make ACS a first preference and connection server only local users username and password if the ACS server is down?

    Kind regards

    Kevin

Now you have the password to enable as the fall back method:

AAA of default login authentication group Ganymede + activate

Change 'enable' for 'local' and the local (to the router) database of user names and passwords is used.

The same works to activate authentication (the second line "authentication, aaa... ("in the config that you posted).

  • Test of local user name

    Hello

We have configured the AAA authentication on our routers with RADIUS server authentication. As a backup option, a secret user and enable local password has been configured.

Until this server RADIUS works very well so it was to test the locally configured username and activate the password.

Is it possible to test the local user name / password password and activate. Even when the RADIUS server is accessible.

Without changing the existing AAA as configuration below.

AAA login default group radius authentication local - first preference to the RADUIS group and the second is for the local user.

Last option is to configure a new local user or overwrite the existing username password.

    Please share the experience.

    Thank you

As long as your router can communicate with the Radius Server, and can get an answer to his request for authentication of connection then the router will never check the local user name. If you want to test and then the name of the local user, you must do something that prevents communication between the router and the Radius server.

Maybe the simplest test is to change the connection of aaa authentication settings. But if you don't do this there are several alternatives that you might consider:

-You can disconnect the network connection from the router to the Radius Server, and then try to connect to the console. To test the local user.

-You can reconfigure the key that is configured for the Radius server. That should prevent the communication with the Radius Server and allow you to test the name of the local user. (be sure to maintain an active session to activate mode during the test so that you can set the key to its original value if there is a problem during the test).

-You may have configured a host route static for the address of the Radius server that has 0 null for the next hop. This prevents communication with the server (but not impact anything else) and allow you to test the name of the local user. (as before, I suggest that you maintain an active session to enable during the test mode, so that you can remove the router static host if there no problem during the test).

-You can set up alternative aaa authentication named method that uses only local, assign it to the console, and then connect to the console. That should allow the router check the local username without affecting the sessions on vty etc..

  • Prevent the specific Web site to store the user name in the drop-down list

I have a site that I connect to frequently. Their home page has a login field. If I double-click on this area, it shows me several login names to automatically fill the area with. I want to prevent Firefox (or other) to remember those login names, for safety because of my personal paranoia.

    I'm using Firefox 49.0.2.

    • I added this site to my list of blocking Cookies. New Cookies are not displayed to the top, when I connect.
    • I do NOT have the connections stored for this site (they were removed and new not appear when I enter a name).
    • Firefox does NOT show me the dialog box "do you want to remember?
    • I removed each stored in AutoComplete list in this field by using the 'shift + Delete' keys to select and delete the headings that appear when I double click on the field.
    • The list that appears when I double click is NOT specific to this site... or rather, the entries in the list seem to come from almost any site that I connected. For example, I have deleted all entries in this site, I worry; I have then is come to Mozilla's Support forum and tried connecting; I had to try several times; all of these names that I used on the login field Mozilla now appear in the list for the original site.
    • Curiously... If I hit 'back' after typing my name (causing the site to go to the next page), the name that I typed in the field seems NOT to remember. However, if I click on the button "login" next to the field after you type a user name, the name seems to remember.
    • Even if I disable 'Remember connections... ". "in Firefox, UN I enter this field to remember.

A screenshot is provided the field of seizure and the drop-down list of names (which I deleted several times).

I turn off history form of Firefox, so I don't know if this is specific to the site (such as the saved connections) or could possible appear on all sites with a named field in a similar way, which seems a little odd.

If you clear history of Firefox form feature, is the unwanted suggestion stop appearing? You can do this on the preferences page, Privacy panel:

"3-bar" menu button (or Firefox) > Preferences

In the left column, click on privacy. On the right side, if you do not see "conservation rules: use the custom settings for history" go ahead and make that choice.

Then you can uncheck the box ' Remember search and form history.

When you return to the site and reload the page, the suggestions disappear?

  • Username, preserved in the AnyConnect Client user name dialog box

I have one question remains on my client anyconnect 2.5.2006. The user in the dialog box name is cached. We do not want to be cached and have users to enter their username every time.

Shilpa Gupta mentioned on another post of mine. I was wondering if anyone has any other thoughts! The 2.5.2006 resolved customer I had another question, so come back to 2.4 is not an option at this point.

For clearing up the credentials in the dialog box when using AnyConnect I found one of the bug:-

    CSCsx76993

    Symptom:

User credentials are cached in the preferences.xml file when you use the Anyconnect client.  So when they revive Anyconnect, the user name is displayed in the client.

    Conditions:

You can see all the client anyconnect.  It is a configurable option in the IPSec client.

    Workaround solution:

Currently there is no work around

And I can see it resolved in 2.4.202 however, I'm not sure if its fixed in 2.5 also. For this I would like to hear from others.

    Kind regards

    Shilpa

    Hello

All bug fixes and new features in 2.4.x are also in 2.5.

However the "bug" Shilpa has pointed out, is not really a bug, but an enhancement request, in other words in 2.3 before the cached username is expected behavior and is always the default behavior in the 'fixed' versions, so just the upgrade won't change anything. What has changed is that now you can change the behavior by defining a new parameter RestrictPreferenceCaching in the local policy file:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/security/vpn_client/AnyConnect/anyconnect25/Administration/Guide/ac04localpolicy.html#wp1055429

    So for example the addition

        All

your local police should achieve what you want.
