  Good so I have a Sony VAIO with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, 4 GB RAM and 640 GB hard drive. During his first installation, VAIO asks you to name your computer so I called him "CARINA" and everything worked perfectly.

  However, we wanted to change the main username in the 'OSCAR', so I went to the control panel > users and this has changed. I thought that everything was great, because when I open the Start Menu, top-right, he says "OSCAR". After more research in the area of research, two things appears under the name 'CARINA': a 'user profile', I think, who had a small square color sky-blueish. and a folder with a lock on it.   Method 1:

  Follow the steps mentioned below.

  (a) type services in the start menu search box.

  (b) in Services, scroll down to "Remote Procedure Call", and make sure the status 'Started' and set to automatic.

  (c) the second "RPC Locator' must be set to"manual ".

  I suggest you to scan SFC. Scan SFC will be scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

• WndOws 7 internet connection with multiple users problem

  I just got a new PC running Windows 7.  I have set up the accounts of four members of my family. When you configure access intenet (Verizon DSL) I got a window saying I could not share a connection high speed and had to set up a for each user.  So I set up a connection high speed for each user with the same login information.  The problem is that the first time that a user logs on, it works fine, but as soon as I switch users, the Internet connection is very slow or not there--Explorer said for the page to load, but it is very slow and always interrupted by and windows error message.  the broadband to disconnect and reconnect do nothing to solve the problem.  The only thing that fixes it is to restart the computer.

  OK, so I don't even really know how to explain this problem.

  I'm working with another designer, and just recently, he opened a file that I was working on, made some changes and saved.

  NOW, when I go and open the file on my PC and try to click any vector object (include logos) I get only a rectangle selection of perimeter. NOT large vector individual lines, even when he is separated from itself, I get only the perimeter zone and not contours.

  However, when I open a different file, as my partner has NOT opened and saved, I always get the exact perimeter AND individual lines.
  I have no idea what is going on, but I really need to solve this problem because it affects the workflow.

  2 reasons I can think

  (1) select this if your appearance palette shows the symbol, then right click and choose break link to symbol.

  

  (2) you did a view > hide edges. Just do a Ctrl-H to toggle between show and hide the edges.

  If that doesn't work, then try the arrow tool dig to select this option and give us a screenshot of your results.

• Download of Adobe 503 error (NOT a USER problem)

  With the amount of posts I see here, this isn't an isolated incident.  Can we please get an official update, or a link that shows adobe working on it?  For many of us have the same problem and it is not on our end.  None of the information works help, I spent the last 12 hours trying to solve this problem on my end.  IT IS NOT ON MY END.  Can Adobe at least tell us how long its going to be before a fix is released?

• New user problem: Source and program monitors not identical

  After several years of inactivity edition I want to make a new start – now with a new version of Adobe. Seems I have to do a large part of the new curve... ;-)

  Implementation of a simple test/learning project, I immediately met a strange problem:

  My Source monitor and program monitor have another 'form': the Source monitor is a block (4:3?), the program monitor is a big screen.

  I'm not aware of having modified or arranged these parameters, and I can't do them even.

  How to do this?

  The questions and related issues:

  • I looked up the initial project settings that allow me the selection of options PAL (and not NTSC), but also big screen by default (and not a different screen format). I can't find. How to do this?
  • Commenting on these parameters of the project, I'm not sure 100% what to choose if I still have the choice: I think that older movies (to change) have my trip so the most recent or 4:3 screen 16:9 wide. And after a crash of my Canon camcorder is on the way which also records (I think) on the big screen. So: Select a specific screen/project format? And WHAT should I choose?
  • The different shape of the Source and the program monitor seems to affect the use of the Titler window: also has a form 'bulk '. Thus the titles in the Titler different completely in the program monitor, especially in what concerns eligible margins. This also gives the creation of models of Titler very confusing and difficult.

  Hi Wim,

  The Source monitor and program have qualities of different reading. For example.

  Source monitor will play the original clip. So, if you have a 4:3 video, it will play as it is.

  The program monitor will play within the parameters of the sequence you have chosen. Thus, in the case of sequence > sequence he settled on square pixel 1.0 and the clip is 4:3 it will play in a square pixel.

  A few days ago, I took the managed user my database hot backup. And then, to check if the data file are in correct mode, I ran the query:

  V$ BACKUP and V$ DATAFILE_HEADER are two different views. Why confuse yourself? They are there to meet different requirements.

  V$ BACKUP is used to check if a data file is in backup mode.

  V$ DATAFILE_HEADER is used to check the header of a data file. Of course a datafile is BLURRED when the database is OPENED - independently of the question whether an online backup is running or has run earlier.

  I'm under Apex 3.2.1 and Oracle 10 g on a server which is protected (Web DMZ). Access to the Intranet is secured by a firewall. However, this is only for my internal users. What recommendations can you make on the Web Public users who go to APEX via regular HTTP? Secure HTTPS is and what other ways are there to secure my application?

  You gave me a great idea... someone needs to write a book of Security Oracle tracing how these concepts are applied to daily applications, including 2 chapters on APEX ;)

  You have users internal and external to the same instance of the APEX?

  It is a long subject (I wrote about 100 pages to this subject), but I'll give it a try in a few bullet points:
  

• Equip your DMZ with firewall rules to limit traffic from the rest of the world to only http and https (ports 80 and 443) OSH, nothing else gets in. Use firewall rules so that the only system THAT OSH can call either your database and that the port 1521 (or whatever your listener is enabled.
  
• Make sure that all the security patches are applied to the BONE and the SST because it is a prime target. This should be a machine for single use with anything else on this topic. Each additional piece of software or service is a potential attack vector. My personal preference is a variant of Unix for facing internet, NOT of Windows or Linux servers.
  
• If possible, run all the applications of the internet in a database and all the intranet in another db. So, you have an external system and one for residents. It's so much easier to protect in this way. Careful with database links as you could end of linking these systems and very little gain.

  The list is long, but I'm still not clear on the big picture.

  If you have 2 bases: test2 and orcl. Assuming that the two of them are local, if you want to connect without specifying the connection string (local connection) you must set ORACLE_SID or LOCAL variable of environment, for example

• Sync blackBerry 8130 smartphone calendar with Outlook 2007 problems

  I have Sprint 8130... and everything is OK... until now.  I'm used to Active sync (from my old HTC Mogul), DO not software RIM.  When I sync has had a week before, the first time, everything was great (accept for the confusion, I'm still about where the Favorites to explore inet went).  Today, I connected for the second time.  Everything seemed fine, except that now it is more most of my calendar items in Outlook.  They are always in my Pearl, well.

  I tried to synchronize the other way, but nothing helped.  Ideas?

  So, this does not work, and I found myself on a different board where I found the answer... it's a bug of software known with DM since 12/07.  This happens when you have multiple addresses email set up on your phone.  It can work very well for the weeks/months, then one day it is.  It can happen to anyone is your provider.  RIM has yet to set the sofware issue (unless the Altel.81 fixed it...).  As a result of him having "multiple calendars" and a single rear sync to Outlook.  The only way to solve the problem was as follows:

  (a) make sure Outlook is COMPLETELY up-to-date. Manually enter the calendar items on the BB that no synchronized to Outlook.

  (b) on your BB, look at the calendar > Options > and you will see the different available calendars. Back to the main calendar page and press Menu and you can view the calendars of each e-mail profile. Decide which e-mail profile you want your calendar entries to reside in virtue, and that is your main email address for this.

  (c) go to Options > Advanced > Service books. Highlight on AND remove references to addresses other than your MAIN e-mail address e-mail.

  (d) go to Options > advanced > default Services and make sure that ONLY a primary email you wish to figure in the list.

  (e) now connect your BB to your PC via USB and launch Desktop Manager.

  (f) now with your Outlook completely updated manually, follow these steps:
  1. connect your BB via USB to your PC and Open Desktop Manager on your PC.
  2. open Backup/Restore > advanced.
  3. in Advanced Options, you will see a split pane screen. You will not see anything in the left pane. In the right pane will be databases currently on your handheld.
  4. turn highlight on the side right your address book database (OR the calendar of your database), and then click the button CLEAR at the bottom of this screen.
  5. once it is finished, close the window of backup/restore and check the device to ensure that the address book (or calendar) is properly empty.
  6. now, re - sync the contacts (or calendar information) Outlook (or your database) and you should be set to go.

  (g) with all this than complete and your calendar appearing in BB... Remove the battery on your BB (lit) and restart the BB. This should return the Service directories for other e-mail addresses that you had deleted earlier. If you find after an hour they do not return, return service from your provider directories BIS site.

  (h) return to Options > Advanced > default Services and make sure that your email address is always e-mail by default. You want to leave your main display on the screen and save.

  I hope that it might help other people.  It comes on all the calendar synchronization issues relating to this question being (except obvious as user problems do not synchronize all appointments).
