Using 2 monitors

I have an Inspiron from Dell 530 s with an integrated video card and another card installed in an open Bay video. When they are both hooked it only shows a monitor. If I unplug the monitor that is working it switches the other monitor. Why it only detects them both at the same time? I use Windows 7 Pro

Hello

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.
Unfortunately, the two display device cannot be used simultaneously. Suggestion of GTS - NJ is true, but even in that, you can only choose a single display device at a time. Suppose it's the onboard display device only this device will be used, and if it's automatic, only the extended display device (PCI-E graphics card) will be used. This is to reduce the consumption of excess electricity. Since this is an extended display device, it will have more than one display, you can connect the second screen of the same display device itself.

You should be able to, given the Mac Mini has the correct connections (in this case, a Thunderbolt connection).

  • Can I install a 2nd video card on my HP Pavilion a6683w desktop PC to allow me to use 2 monitors?

I want to extend my desktop using 2 monitors.  My HP Pavilion a6683w Destop PC has only a port monitor.  I'm wanting to run 2 monitors on it and I was wondering if it is possible to install a 2nd video card (the existing one is a NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430).

Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion a6683w. According to specifications, your computer uses an nVidia GeForce 6150SE integrated graphics card and also supports PCI Express x 16 graphics cards. Integrated graphics card is not available if a graphics card is installed. In addition, specifications, your computer has a 250 watt power supply. Most of the retail graphics cards will require a minimum of a 300 Watt power supply.

    From the information above, I think you have two options;

    (1) according to your needs, more an adapter USB-to-video, such as EVGA UV + UV39. This adapter is available on Newegg.com, Amazon.com, and as well as many EVGA.com to other places. It is possible that another brand/model will work as well. This solution is good for day trading, spreadsheets, word documents, web browsing, etc.

    (2) If you do heavy gaming or graphic treatment, I suggest an upgrade of power supply and graphics card. For more information on this topic, see Guide of Dave_G for a discrete video card selection .

  • problems using two monitors. both screens show the same thing.

I use the NVIDIA GeForce4 MX integrated graphics.  I need to use the monitors at the same time, but with a capacity for dragging from one monitor to the wire to the other.

    Hi Denise,

See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307873 to learn how to configure and use multiple monitors in Windows XP.

To view the same desktop in multiple Monitors (Extending the displays)

-In the settings of the display properties dialog box tab, click the icon of the monitor that represents the monitor you want to use in addition to your primary monitor.
-Click to select the checkbox extend my desktop on this monitor . After enabling this feature, you can drag items across your screen on alternative screens. Or, you can resize a window to stretch it on several monitors.

Hope this information helps.  Let us know if you have any questions.

  • Using two monitors (Windows XP) display configuration

I spent more than an hour and can't seem to keep the settings I want.  Using Windows XP, I have two monitors side by side.  I want to use my right monitor as my primary monitor. I want to have the taskbar, my icons, when I open programs on the right.  I want to use the monitor on the left to drag items on multitasking or comparison to previous years.  I can get it all, but my mouse wants turns off the screen to the right on the monitor from left to right, left and right while what I would LIKE IT to do is to go back into the seam in the middle.  Right monitor on the monitor on the left goes to left... and going to the right through right to left monitor.  I can get the setting to do, but as soon as I restart the mouse wants to go "around the block" to join the other monitor again.  In the words of my monitors is on the left (2) and the right (1).  I chose the right monitor (1) be the primary monitor, so there the old dark blue box. Currently... Control Panel/display/settings I have the #2 raised on the left and #1 on the right slightly primary underneath.  I Mnitor Plug-and-Play with ATI Radeo HD 2400 PRO... and below the use this device as the primary monitor and extend my desktop on this monitor are selected and gray.  If I select the monitor #2 as being the accented monitor turns off light gray below and extend it my Windows desktop becomes the only one selected.  I tried many combinations... .and I want until I restart, even if I get ' application and press OK.  As soon as I restart the enjambment mouse stops and goes back "around the block" out there, anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong?  It used to work fine until I got another problem and had a 'guru' get on remote.

The key trick is to drag these two icons so that their order changes.

ATI has a tool called Catylst Control Center, which can help.   I don't know if it is still available for such a product so.

  • When you use two monitors Media Player will not playback on screen #2 video (not a problem with the monitor #1).

I'm sorry for the long post, but this is the type of problem that is easy to explain in person but if transported by writing it might take a little longer for the sake of the definition. Please read on without fear because this problem is not as complicated as you might think, I hope.

I use two (2) screens of computers with the same system but why Media Player does not work on a single monitor and not the other monitor?

I use two monitors with my PC thanks to the CLONE function and things last a lot. #1 monitor is a computer 19 "monitor. Monitor #2 is at the end of the piece. VIZIO, the manufacturer, markets a monitor #2 as a computer screen, nope, it's a 47 '' Vizio HDTV that I use as a computer screen. I use the installation without any problems for over a year now until yesterday. The problem: now, when I use two monitors to play a video, the sound will play but not the video. What I see is a black screen empty. This negative situation applies to only monitor the #2 and does NOT monitor #1.

    > very important Please note... when I have both monitors running and I play a video that you can actually see the video play on the #1, the 19-inch video monitor! There is absolutely nothing wrong with the video player when it runs on the small computer screen 19 inch. But when you turn your head to look through the living room where I Monitor #2 placed you won't see the video running on #1 monitor as you normally would before that dysfunction appeared. (No, instead of this you will see the Windows Media Player (or Nero or RealPlayer) readers 'playing' a black screen blank even if 1) both monitors are indeed cloned and 2) video plays without any problem on monitor # 1. Monitor #2 with media work (sort of) because the volume level is adjustable, and you can see the bar jump up and down and all around media player progression but the problem is that there is simply no video when you try watching the video on a monitor #2.

    > except to play videos through a Player multimedia, I can use my Vizio TV as a monitor for what is related to the computer, there is no another negative question. I can surf the web, edit videos, etc. When I run a video from Youtube to my computer the monitor #2 TV Vizio, the Youtube video plays well. Ditto for Netflix, no complaints there. In fact, I just typed this post on and displayed using Monitor #2... But if I want to watch a video that I saved in a folder XP then the only option is to use the #1 monitor.

Thanks in advance for your help :)

Do restore of the system as a first step. If this fails,

    1. uninstall all software of Monitor 2

    2. unplug the monitor 2

    3. restart the computer

    4. connect the monitor 2

    5. install all the software monitor

  • Using two monitors

I am using 2 monitors so I can show several programs simultaneously.  Under the display screen, I have selected 2 monitors.  I get the desktop without icons or the taskbar on the second screen and mode full screen with icons and taskbar on the primary monitor.  I can't drag anything on the second screen it is really helpful at all.  What I forgot to do?  I use Windows XP on the laptop.

    Hello

You can drag the program or Explorer windows from one screen to others? If this is not the case, check the monitor are well aligned. Click Start-> settings-> Control Panel-> display-> settings-> slot "drag the icon of the monitor to match...". "Align the monitor 1 and monitor 2. Check the resolution on both monitors.

If you have Auto arrange some icons will not remain on Monitor 2. To disable right click on the desktop to reorganize some by-> uncheck auto arrange.

    I hope this helps.

  • How can I get two jobs when using two monitors, instead of stretching a desktop on both screens?

    Hello!

How can I get two jobs when using two monitors, instead of stretching a desktop on both screens? I n ' want to clone my office, and I don't want to stretch it. I want two desktop computers, where I can "send/give" to the other desktop programs.

I need a third party program? It is very good. If you know one please tell me about it.

    Hi OskarKvist,

This feature is not supported by Windows XP.

However, you can use your favorite search engine to download any third-party software that could serve the purpose.

Note: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • Double desktop screen "stacked" on first office on a single monitor after using two monitors Netflix to the TV

Double "stacked" on first desktop on one monitor - desktop screen came just after using two monitors (Netflix on TV extended

My computer kept crashing after I had hung a dual monitor.  The second monitor was my television, playing a Netflix movie while I also used my computer to work on.  After splitting the two, I kept crashing for a few days.  I tried to delete the second monitor in the display settings, but does not know how to do this, if it's possible, but I think it's the problem and the cause of the double view of the desktop on my computer now.

Does anyone know how to confirm what the problem is for some, and/or instructions how to solve this problem if you already know what can cause this problem.  No assistance at all would be greatly appreciated.  I tried to understand this two days...

Note, in the heat of the Las Vegas area, I thought this may be due to overheating, but I actually he cooled in the refrigerator for a short time and restarted, but still have the problem.  Thank you.

You have a Nvidia 8600 M GS graphics chip located on the motherboard, the drivers for it are provided by your manufacturer, HP, PC-specific to your model and NOT of the site MSUpdate or Nvidia.

  • Can I use a monitor at the time XP & keyboard with Windows 10?

It might be stupid question, but I'm going: I have a Dell Dimension 4700 running Windows XP.  I think the upgrade of the tower with one of little Inspiron desktops, but I wonder if I can save a bit of money, at least in the meantime using my monitor UltraSharp 1704FPT existing with the new Win10 Tower.  My present Dell has a card Radeon dedicated video with a DVI output, but the monitor has a VGA connector as well.  Finally, I'll upgrade to a 20 "+ display, but $$ are tight right now."

Also, could I use my improved multimedia keyboard (model SK-8135) with a Windows 10 system?  There is a keyboard included with new systems Inspiron, but I like the feel and action of full height (if that's what it's called) of this old keyboard.  Like on the monitor, it still looks brand new and works perfectly.  Thanks in advance.

As long as you buy a desktop computer with the required by the monitor video connector, you'll be fine.

As for the keyboard, you will need to Google.
