    Hi sgodwin2468,

Make sure that Acrobat Reader DC is updated Release Notes | Adobe Acrobat, Reader.

If the problem persists, try the solution below.

The default "save under" Acrobat/Reader DC dialog box is different from the dialogue box you had in earlier versions of Acrobat/Reader, it also allows you to record in the clouds and previous locations that you saved the files. It is possible that when Acrobat/Reader tries to connect to the 'cloud', it runs into problems. You can try to disable this feature to see if this brings your backup in the back of the box: open Acrobat Preferences, then go to the "General" category and uncheck "show the online storage when you save files:

  • Windows 7 64-bit Adobe Reader 9.3 and IE8 - opening PDF in the tab and then says closing tab causes IE8

I've been running Win7 64 bit for quite awhile now and only up to what a few weeksa go started having problems with Adobe Reader continues to ask me how I wanted to read a document and click here to save the settings, and don't ask me again.  The box has never worked and it will continue to ask me questions constantly everytime I open a new PDF file.

I finally understood how to get rid of the nagging dialog box but now everytime I open a new tab with a PDF file in it and then close the tab, IE8 crashes and tries to pick up the tab.  It's never happened before.

What is the cause and how to fix this?  Please notify.

Upgrade to 9.3 this morning and the problem remains.  Tried to uninstall all traces of Adobe Reader and reinstall but still no dice.

Problem happens also to home on a similar computer running Win 7 64 bit and use an earlier version of Acrobat and Adobe Reader.

    Try this:

Right-click on the IE8 icon in the taskbar. A menu pop ups upward. Right click again on 'Internet Explorer'. Then left click on "Run as Administrator". I had another problem with the drive and this has solved the problem. The problem I had was that I couldn't save PDFs in IE8. This solves this problem.

Cannot use Adobe Reader to view the PDF in the browser.

I want to be able to open these links using Acrobat Pro.  What can I do in Internet Explorer so I don't always get these errors, and so pdfs open automatically with the help of Acrobat Pro?

Acrobat 8.1 was not designed for Windows 7.

  • When I updated my Adobe Acrobat plug-ins it uninstalled Adobe Reader and installed Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. Can I use Adobe Reader instead?

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Firefox said that my plugin Adobe Acrobat was outdated, so I've updated. It uninstalled my Adobe Reader Version 11.0.12.18 and replaced it with Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 2015.008.20082 DC. I did not like this program, and more I read there are still bugs in there. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled Adobe Reader Version 11.0.12.18. I went into the menu of options of Firefox under applications and changed the options Adobe to use Adobe Reader as the default application for PDF files. It is a safe choice, or should I leave Firefox dictate what PDF program I use? I am concerned about safety issues. Any opinions?

I think that your question has been answered mainly in this thread: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1079182

In my opinion, you can trust Adobe to keep the series XI Reader updated for awhile. It is completely safe is impossible to know, given that vulnerabilities are often discovered and kept secret.

  • Can I use Adobe Reader DC to insert bookmarks and hyperlinks in documents that have been scanned in pdf?

Can I use Adobe Reader DC to insert bookmarks and hyperlinks in documents that have been scanned in pdf?

    Hello

I'm sorry, but you can't add bookmarks and hyperlinks to PDF using CD player. It isn't the apt software to carry out the Assembly.

You will need Acrobat to perform this function.

  • When you use Internet Explorer and Adobe Reader xi, I can't find how to keep the Page to hide thumbnails. We want they is open.  Help, please!

In Internet Explorer, when you open a PDF using Adobe Reader XI addon IE, the Page Thumbnail toolbar is shrunk to the (hidden) left.  Our users access the thumbnails constantly and we need to stay open by default, but I find anywhere that this option is set.  I expect there to be an icon PIN click to keep it open.  We found in the stand-alone product Adobe Reader, you can click on ' restore last display settings when reopening documents. "in preferences of Documents, but it does not work for new documents (already open docs only) AND doesn't work at all in Internet Explorer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Laughing out loud

While it is important that much, maybe, someone needs to spring for a copy of Acrobat and be in charge of adding this feature.

  • "Cannot use adobe reader to view PDFs in your web browser" error in Windows 7 and Acrobat pro 8.1.7

I get the error 'cannot use adobe reader to view PDFs in your web browser.  Player will now stop.  Please exit your browser and try again"in Windows 7 x 32 and Windows 7 x 64 with Acrobat pro 8.1.7.  This occurs when you try to open a PDF file in Internet explore 8.0.760 or when I open a PDF file in Quickbooks 2008.  If I answer ok or cancel, the file opens normally.  If I open acrobat 8 first of all and then the pdf file opens as expected.  I also tried a copy of Acrobat reader, with no difference in the result.  Because this happens on two different computers a new copy of windows 7 x 64, the other, an upgrade to windows 7 x 32 and they used to work before moving to windows 7, I guess that there is some sort of incompatibility with windows 7 and acrobat.  Is this a known problem and will be fixed in an update to acrobat in the near future?

For Windows 7 you will need Adobe Acrobat 9.1.

  • Can't print PDF using Adobe Reader XI on every laptop and two different printers.

When you try to print (from today ' today) I get two windows of Adobe Reader that pop up 1) the document could not be printed. OK 2) there are no pages to print OK.  Any help is appreciated.

Try the following: open Adobe Reader | Change | Preferences

    • under Documents, change "Show the documents in PDF/A mode" Never
    • under the (enhanced) protection, clear protected at Startup Mode
  • Cannot open a PDF document in Windream using Adobe Reader (11.0.9)

Our company uses a system of records for storage management and archiving of documents. Since the update to the latest version of Adobe Reader (11.0.9) last week, we are unable to open a PDF with Adobe Reader. An AcroRd32.exe * 32 process is initiated, but the document will not open or view. Finally, we suffer a system crash. Open any other PDF document (not stored in archives management system) using Adobe Reader is fine. Documents can also be opened in the system of management of archives using Adobe Acrobat.

Try to disable the Protected Mode (see response to Pat here: anyone having problems with the update to Acrobat Reader 11.0.9 on Win7 X 64?) and see if that helps...

  • Use Adobe Reader to open the pdf in BTSync on IOS

The default pdf in BTSync on iOS reader open all PDFs on my iPad device.

Is it possible to implement Adobe Reader to do instead? I know I can long-tap the file - that is not an option, because we must do this on 1300 files individually.

    Is there a solution?

    Thanks in advance!

    -Thomas

There is no way acrobat Reader can never be done by default in PDF Reader app. iOS does not work like that. Files can be shared in iOS, ditto. You can only send PDF to the reader, as in Safari. So must be supported for use with BTSync, send to. I think that if what is sent is a PDF file, Acrobat Reader must appear in the list of destinations.
