Using more five computers with Mac App Store

I have five MacBooks, four MBA and a MBP. These were bought over a period of five years or more.

I'm considering buying a new iMac soon and wonder how it will affect my use of the purchased as well as the "free apps" apps from Apple (Pages, Numbers, Keynote, iMovie and GarageBand).

My Apple ID shows that I have five authorized computers.  I also have a variety of associated with the ID of Apple iOS devices.

I intend to use the new iMac for editing movies mainly and a few Pages and Keynote work.  I have no intend to download a purchased applications currently in use with the MacBook.

My question is that I'll be able to download the "free apps" using my existing Apple ID?

I don't want to remove the five and start over.  I can live with having the iMac limited to the 'free apps '.

Hello

According to the Mac App Store FAQ...  Mac App Store: frequently asked Questions (FAQ) - Apple Support

So you use the same Apple ID on all.

I bought my macbook pro to my brother and always used without my Apple ID and then I decided to restore the macbook to the factory because of some problems with the performance setting, when I hit install OS X Yosemite on the disk, it asks you to login Apple ID and when I try to login with my account , he says "this identifier Apple has not yet been used with the App store" Please check your account information, when I hit "see" nothing happens and it of kind of stuck and makes me restart the process and enter my apple ID and password. "

I don't know what the problem is and now I can't open my macbook to use

Because the computer has been configured using Apple ID of your brother, it is bound to this ID. If you have never downloaded Yosemite, you can not install it. Ask your brother to insert his Apple ID, so you can get the computer operational again. Then, go to the App Store, sign in with your ID and check the purchases tab to see if the Yosemite is an option. If this is not the case, download El Capitan and see if it will install. If you want to do a clean install, quit the installer and the program below allows you to create a bootable USB key. Boot from it, wipe the hard drive and then install El Capitan. When you restart normally it will be your computer. See also the link for sale.

  • Tutorial on the edition of Flex/Air app for Mac App Store, or simply using Developer ID for general distribution

Everyone set up a tutorial on the publication of a Flex/AIR application for distribution as an OSX desktop application, or through Mac App Store, or just simply using the developer Certificate ID?

In my time as a Flex developer, I've seen some well documented things and some that you had to dig for, but find clear instructions on this is really hard! I would have thought post your Flex/AIR application as a standalone application (captive runtime) users directly or through the Mac App Store (Apple Developer ID certificate signature) would be something that many people are trying to do. But most of the useful post there are dated or incomplete, as well as specifically targeted to iOS. In addition, whenever the AIR SDK changes it seems that many of the recent posts are no longer valid at certain stages.

Many thanks for anyone who can provide some pointers or suggestions!

The page of the official doc on presentation of the Mac App Store has been updated there is a little more than two months, recent changes in the recent SDK:

It must be current, even if I think I see typo in one of the appeals of command line that mentions "textcodesign", when it should just be "codesign".

Is it possible to change the font size and or the color used by the Mac App Store and the iTunes App tab? At my age, I find that the font size and the great on white background is hard to read. Only being able to select black text on white instead of grey would be a great help for us older people.

  • Mac App Store get confused with partitions/external records

    I have a MacMini with 2 HD.

One with El Capitan and the other with the Mavericks.

When I installed El Capitan, I realized Mac App Store by default update all applications even those of Partition of the Mavericks.

So I disassembled the Mavericks score (and changed the preferences) and

I re - download an app from the Mac App Store from my ElCapitan boot.

Once downloaded, it wasn't on the Applications folder.

But in a folder (volume) with the name of an external drive. (not plugged in during installation) I found it, by launching the application via LaunchPad and display in the Finder menu in the Dock.

This Application has been on this external backup drive, it is true. and the drive be connected at one time or another. But it is not plugged in during this installation.

I can see this Volume of fake in the Terminal, but not with DiskUtility.

If I plug the drive, I in /Volumes: ExternalDiskName and ExternalDiskName2!

How can I remove this fake (Ghost) Volume!

And why the Mac App Store is looking everywhere and not only on the system partition. It's a mess!

    Thank you!

    1. choose go to folder in the Finder Go menu and drag the folder /Volumes/ as the path to provide.

    2. the Mac App Store will search any location indexed by Spotlight.

I'm having a problem with the App Store.  I'm lance the store and do nothing else than a white screen with the spinning wheel in the upper left corner.

I can switch between the tabs, but nothing else does.  I tried to quit and relaunch the Bank several times.  I tried dumping the files of two preference of my library user (com.apple.appstore.plist and com.apple.storeagent.plist).  The activity monitor does not appear anything that is not responding.  The App Store is completely stuck, always, when I open it.  Someone knows how to fix this?

Activity monitor is now showing "Content of Web App Store (not responding)".

  • Mac App Store updates

    Hi all

Is it possible also to disable updates for the App elements which are not installed?

My page of Mac App Store update advises there is a date for Pages, Numbers and Keynote.

When I select 'Update all' the Apple server responds with:

"Update not available with this Apple ID

This update is not available for this Apple ID either

because it was bought by another user or item

    has been refunded or cancelled.

which is quite reasonable, because I have never installed one of the iWorks components.

The problem is that I can use is no longer the domain 'Update all' as the answer above stops all updates from happening.

Thanks a lot for all of the recommendations.

    Neil

Unfortunately no, but the workaround is to delete the App Store icon from the dock.

In this way, you will not see the Red badge updated on App Store icon.

Click and drag the App Store upwards and the dock until he goes, 'poof '.

  • Mac App Store update error

Try to upgrade to Mac OS 10.11.6 El Capitan, but the Mac App Store gives me an error when searching for updates.

The error is "NSURLErrorDomain error 1100.

I've seen people say it's a DNS issue or there is a problem with the Apple servers, but I was updating 34 iMacs today and there 30 of them worked perfectly, and 4 of them did not. I can't use another DNS as the one we currently use is necessary to access the internet.

These 4 Mac run 10.11.5 as the 30 others were.

Using 'softwareupdate - list' in a terminal gives the same error code.

  • Each update of the Mac App Store downloads and installs twice

When I hit "update" for an application on the Mac App Store, it downloads, installs and continues to show an update. I hit "update" again, let it download and install once more. Even after waiting a few minutes in between.

It seems that when I click on "update all", apps always download and install both times, but automatically, without having to double click me. It is even clearer that this behavior occurs when one of the applications is open, I get the warning twice as much as the application runs.

This has been going on during some time, perhaps at the time of the update to El Capitan.

None of these applications are installed in several locations on my Mac.

I tried the advice of following Linc on this thread and delete/var/folders/zz/zyxvpxvq6csfxvn_n00000s0000068, but it did not help.

Please test after taking each of the steps that you have not already tried it. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes.

    1. open a search window by pressing the command-F key combination in the Finder. Select the Mac as the scope of research and the research of the app (s) in question by name. Delete all obsolete or duplicate copies that you find.

    2. If the search results appear to be inaccurate, rebuild the Spotlight index. If you try to search now, there will be an indication that the indexing is in progress.

    3. triple - click anywhere in the line below on this page to select this option:

    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.appstore

A right click or Ctrl-click on the line and select

Services ▹ reveal in Finder (or just to reveal)

of the contextual menu.*, a file must open with a selected item. Quit the application runs. Move selected item to the trash. Restart the application and test.

    * If you do not see the item context menu copy the selected text in the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination. In the Finder, select

Go ▹ go to the folder...

from the menu bar and paste it into the box that opens by pressing command + V. You won't see what you pasted a newline being included. Press return.

    4. If the previous steps do not resolve the problem, leave each app in question and uninstall it by following the instructions on this page. Alternatively, you can drag it into the Applications to the trash and empty folder. You have created the data files will be preserved. In Spotlight, check that there is now no copy of the application on your system. Download your purchase history in the App Store.

  • Mac App Store is writing updates on an external drive!

    Hi people,

I recently added an external USB3 drive of my Mac Mini, which is in place and it works very well. It is journaled HFS +, property is 'ignored' and it is mounted in /Volumes as you would expect. (I also have to stress is the fourth disc I added in this way.) My main drive is unchanged, still mounted on / and is always presented as my boot drive in system preferences. It was also around 450 GB of free space.

However, when I update an application such as Pages or via the Mac App Store numbers, it creates a folder in the "new" external drive and place the .app file here. Also, it creates a directory/library and places receipts in there, too. Applications updates do not appear in the Dock or dashboard.

The behavior is completely recreatable and persists reboots of the system.

I can't find an obvious preference setting to control the target disk. is it possible that I can configure or reset the Mac App Store to use my main drive?

Thank you very much in advance for any help or advice.

    Graham

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It makes no changes to your data.

Please triple - click anywhere in the line below on this page to select:

    ls -@BOaen / | pbcopy

Copy the selected text in the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination.

Launch the Terminal application integrated in one of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search. Select from the results (it should be at the top).

☞ In the Finder, select go utilities ▹ of menu bar or press the combination of keys shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

Paste in the Terminal window by pressing the command-V key combination. I tested these instructions only with the Safari browser. If you use another browser, you may need to press the return key after pasting.

Wait for a new line ending with a dollar sign ($) below what you entered.

The output of the command will be automatically copied to the Clipboard. If the command produces no output, the Clipboard is empty. Paste into a reply to this message.

The Terminal window does not display the output. Please do not copy from there.
