Using the crop tool to straighten an image twisted?

In CS6, I have an image that has been analyzed in and which is twisted. I use the crop tool to drag the landmarks of crop around the part of the image that I want to keep and I press the check mark to make the harvest. It crops the image so it does not straighten. In earlier versions of Photoshop it to crop and straighten the image cropping. How to now use the crop tool to straighten a picture?

Thank you.

Here's how:

1. click on the ruler (straighten) button

2. the cursor changes to a symbol of the culture to a leader

3. click and drag a line where you want the picture to the right, and then release the mouse button.

4. image is recovering, the cursor turns into adjustment handles.

5. making adjustments to the acreage. Press Enter to save the changes.

Yes.  It's exactly what I told you in the _identical_ of _other_ thread that you started with this question.  It's just one of the reasons why it isn't a good idea to start multiple threads.  I locked this thread, but one of the other moderators of the forum has been deleted.

  • Background layer unlocks and becomes the normal "no flat" layer after using the crop tool in PS CC 2015.1 (a different behavior for older versions of PS)

    Hi all

I found that it is more difficult to explain than I thought

I don't like the new behavior in the latest version of Photoshop (CC 2015.1) regarding the way in which the background layers automatically unlock and convert to regular layers after using the crop tool. It's completely different to how things worked in previous versions, where a background layer remained in locked state flattened after using the crop tool.

I get a LOT of images and this change has added an extra step to each image that I harvest, because I flatten the layers after cropping before saving the image. I looked through the preferences but cannot find a way to change this new behavior. Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance for your help

See if checking Delete the cropped Pixels in the tool options makes a difference.

  • How to use the crop tool without losing pixels?

    5616 x 3774 / res 72, is what CS5 says my Canon 5 d 2 large jpeg is off camera.

Can I use the harvest too to make a picture of 20 "x 24" and keep all or most of these pixels? "

    Leave the area blank resolution?

The lab I send the file to print, said they want 300 res files (just to complicate the thing a little more)

    Thank you!

To tell the truth I do not use the crop tool. I use the selection Rectangle, crop image tool and the size of the image.  If you use the crop tool and fill a field of resolution in the crop tool crop tool makes all three operations including the harvest to the resolution that you have entered the resampling. Adobe also gave the crop tool implemented in CS6 that a lot in my arms. Don't mind at all.

IMO if you use harvest its best tool to fill the field of the resolution. In this way the harvest will not resample.  You can enter height 24 20 width or height width 6 5 in fact the same proportions as it is 12:10

After you do the crop you can use the size of the Image. In the dialog box uncheck resample set the width for printing on 24. You'll see Photoshop set a height 20 and set the resolution to a certain value. If the fall of DPI value below what you want check resample together in the desired resolution and interpolation method to use and then click OK.

  • Using the crop tool to remove unused pixels or the artboard

I have a cut picture, I placed a drop shadow (using the layer styles) on a transparent background.  I want to quickly use the crop tool to remove unused pixels or the artboard.

I tried to enable 'show the edges of the layer', but it ignores the layer style/shade that I placed, and as it disappears when you start using the crop tool itself.  If this does not really work.

Is there another way to do this?  Other than the eye it?  I too want to crop the image as tight as possible, but I don't want tight, too tight and cut off from the shadow.  Any advice?  Thank you!!

Try Image - Trim function.  I think it will do exactly what need you.

  • Automatically detect orientation using the crop tool

Hello, according to my knowledge the crop tool in CS6 automatically detect whether the image was a picture of format portrait or landscape photo format. I now use the trial of CC, but in this version, I can't find this option. When I now open a portrait-format photo cropping tool remembers the last harvest-setting. If it was a portrait-ratio is not a problem, but when I cropped photo landscape format I have to manually change the orientation from landscape to portrait.

Anyone who can help me with this? Or has this feature disappearted in CC?

Note that in your Options Panel in the upper part, you have 3:2 (4:6). To the left of that, right click on the crop tool icon and select Reset tool as in the screenshot, I sent earlier. This will change the options of the report tool that you see in my screenshot.

Once you have reset the cropping tool, send a new screenshot of the Options Panel.

Hello, click on the "clear" button in the options bar, in order to remove the values that are currently defined in the crop tool.

If this does not work, in the options bar to the crop tool, right click on the crop tool icon and select "reset tool", as here, when I did on the zoom tool:

  • Straightening of the images twisted with tool rule compared to the crop tool

In CS5, is there an advantage to using the new tool to straighten a crooked VS image. do it the old way with the cropping tool?

    Thank you.

It's not really new, it of just that before CS5 should draw a line with the ruler tool then go to Image-> Image Rotation-> arbitrary and OK all that is in this dialog box that is not really easy to discover. This all done button is to perform an action that calls the arbitrary command followed by a harvest. The advantage to do it with the ruler tool is that it is easier, you just draw with the tool rule on the horizon or whatever it is you want to recover, and then click on recover (or do it through the arbitrary command as in CS4 and before)
