v10.11.3 El Capitan iMac freezes frequently at the login screen

My iMac has been humming without any problem and superbly quick, recently, it has begun to drip slowly, often it hangs on the login screen, it is sometimes a complete crash with a full reboot! Can someone advise how to diagnose and fix this problem? Only when there is a complete crash, system report Apple kick in and report the accident to Apple.

    Greetings JPfromFairfield,

Thanks for your post. I see that your Mac goes back to the login screen after you connected. You mentioned that you have done to ensure that the disc is fine and the permissions are good. Those who are very advanced. I know how much I rely on my Mac so I'll be more than happy to help.

With your computer is able to start properly in Mode safe, this indicates that there may be a third-party service that is causing problems. I have some articles for you to check.

OS X El Capitan: If you have problems with startup items

OS X El Capitan: login users & groups preferences pane items

You can remove all items start and the login items, and then test to see if you can boot normally, if you can, you can add one item at a time and continue his tests to see how the origin of the problem.

    Take care!

  • Windows 7 freezes on the login screen

I recently encountered a problem on the login screen. When I start my laptop, everything freezes. If I boot in safe mode network, it does the same thing. However, the command-line safe mode and normal safe mode works very well. This isn't a hardware problem. I tried a restore of the system to a date privious, repair with the DVD system. I'm a little lost, it might be something that is broken or the registry. Is there something I could be on?

    Hi all

I was finally able to get the problem resolved. The system has been infected with a rootkit. I had to install and run ComboFix in safe mode.
I you all again once thank for your help. It really helps to better solve the problems.
  • iMac, frozen to the login screen

Everytime I turn on my iMac, it loads to the top of the login window. I get my password, it freezes and an apple logo appears then the computer restarts and then freezes on the login window

Not a lot of information. I guess you ElCapitan.

    First do the 'reset Pram:

How to reset the NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

    Try again.

    When it freezes again:

Press the key TO start and then press on and hold down the SHIFT key, it should start in "safe mode", it's slow, when you see the login window, login. After login, go to the Finder.

Does it work? If so, restart normally.

Otherwise: restart and now the keys CMD + R: it starts, slowly, in the "RecoveryPartition", choose form the menu DiskUtility, ElCapitan click FirstAid, let it do its job, all messages?

in OSX like choose DiskUtility and 'repair permissions' and 'repair the disk.

    Turn it back on.

  • Upgrade to OS El Capitan. Has been Keychain errors. Now incompatible with the very power not past the login screen. Try Apple cat and give up after spending more than 30 minutes, avoiding so to repeat myself (last I checked, I'm not a fool).

Upgrade to OS El Capitan this morning on the laptop of my daughter because she saved his laptop school (apple) at what his cell phone the school had problems. Had to upgrade to the latest OS as its portable school was on the latest OS and its docs to school would not open on his personal laptop (she was on the Mavericks). Fallen on admin password so questions concerning with the cat and who sets obtained but by fixing what they then created many problems of Keychain. I was directed to a support document, which did nothing. I was told to finish the upgrade to El Capitan, and maybe that would fix issues Keychain - BAD! Now, it's a 50-50 chance that when I get to the sign in page - I'll either get arrested here with the keychain error pop ups or it will allow me to the desktop view. I'm beyond disgusted at this stage because what should have been simple has become a living nightmare.

I checked through the archives and found a lot of Keychain, but nothing seems to fix mine.

    I get the following:

    * talagent wants to use Keychain 'local products '.

my admin and my signon password do not work

so I press Cancel, then I get

    * Messages Agent wants to use Keychain 'local products '.

my admin password and access code does not work

  • iPhone 6 more iOS 9.2.1 freeze intermittently on the lock screen and using the iPhone.

My iPhone only more 6 freezes sometimes without reason. Probably, it will freeze as I write this, and I'm very frustrated because my fairly new phone becomes useless when it freezes.  I use the latest versions of iOS and ITunes and I have backed up my IPhone to iTunes and ICloud. I don't want to restore my iPhone because I'm sure I'll lose information and things that I paid a lot of money for. I'm fairly certain it's a software problem, because my iphone is impeccable and I have always used a case Ive had the phone for a while. Clear all the settings while keeping my info seems to solve the problem for a day or more. If the iOS software is the problem I can't really trust your other software that works well to keep all my important data. I realize there is no way to back up apps on iTunes more because you're trying to get people to use iclould. How about I pay you guys $0.99 per month and I would like to back up my data on my computer and purchases in less time. I am a legitimate customer and I do not need to be treated like a criminal. What is the point of upgrading hardware and software of the iPhone when your software has created a problem and it won't solve the problem without erasing all the data on my iphone. It's not really give me confidence that the things I bought are things that I have in fact or the software release you works really well. If you want people to upgrade their iPhones every year why you put through all these hassles? Can you guys just fix your software please?

Even! I feel its been happening too much for me! Do you think it is the system or a virus, the phone can have?  It also freezes when im using my phone. I can't use any other cause of apps that it freezes as well and I have to reset it and I take care of my phone as well! I need answers.

  • Freezes on the login screen

Whenever I try to run the add-in Connect, it freezes on the screen "Acrobat Connect Pro login". The bar goes up to 100% and nothing happens. Occasionally (1 output pretty much all 8 times) to reach the classrooms, but by clicking on the button yeilds no response. Rarely (1 output about all 12 attempts), I am able to do in the classroom and everything works fine.

I use Windows 7, I tried this on Windows 8 on a different computer with the same results. I've used Connect for many months now, and this is the first time that I had this problem. I cleared my cache used several different browsers and reinstalled the Connect snap.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Well at least it narrows it down to something to do with your home network. I could not tell you where to start other than glancing at your firewall settings. You can always contact support at 800-945-9120 and see if they can provide guidance. Having a journal or two for them to see can help, if you can locate them. You can always just search "connectaddin" on your computer and see where the newspapers to turn upward.

In users and groups > Connection Options, is the verified user list?

If you have FileVault active it cannot list users until you type the Admin password for decrtpt disk.

Bug WORKER_THREAD_RETURNED_AT_BAD_IRQL control has a value of 0x000000E1. This indicates that a thread of work completed and returned with IRQL > = DISPATCH_LEVEL.

Had suddenly look and according to the atikmpag.sys whocrashed pilot next is the cause of the crash. It's your ATI graphics card driver. You must go to www.ati.com then goto support and drivers and download it from there.

Although it suggests, it's the driver causing the problem it may not be the problem. However, it is a good place to start.

  • El Capitan does not start after a freeze and a forced, bonded stop on the gray screen

    Hi all

I have a MacBook Pro 17 "late 2011, 2.4 Ghz, 16 GB RAM with OS X El Capitan installed, the latest version with all the updates." A year ago, I've had my Toshiba HDD replaced by Samsung SSD 250 GB SATA III 850 EVO and the Toshiba disk has been moved to CD using LMP disk Doubler Bay, at the same time, I had my RAM went from 8 GB to 16 GB of RAM, I have now. The OS X El Capitan is installed on the SSD. In this configuration, everything worked well, with absolutely no problem whatsoever. Sometimes, I ran disk utility to check both of my hard drives and no problem.

Unfortunately yesterday, strange things started going. First of all, I noticed some unusual glitches when you browse the internet with Safari. I'll try to describe the best I can because they lasted about 2 seconds, so I don't recall. In any case, all of a sudden, as if half right of my screen has shifted in the middle of the screen and it was wrong and image around was all damaged or distorted but legible. He'll be back to normal when I switched between applications or revealed the office displays the windows of all running applications.

It was similar to this (below) but much larger.

Then, I continued my work as if nothing had happened, when all of a sudden my mouse pointer disappeared and the system froze completely. It was just totally frozen, the time was not moving and the computer did not react somehow to the keys I pressed. Unable to do anything, I had to press and hold the power button to turn off the computer. After starting it again once I hear the ringtone, I see the gray Apple logo and the loading bar. When the loading bar reaches about 40%, a coloured horizontal line appears (see photo below), then it subsides quickly followed by a black screen, which is quickly followed by a blank grey screen with no Apple logo or the bar loading, just a gray screen Uni, where I'm stuck. The computer turns off by itself after about 15-30 minutes if I leave it like that on the gray black screen.

    The coloured horizontal line:

    http://i.imgur.com/9rzEyc4.jpg

I can't start in safe mode or recovery mode.

I CAN only boot single user mode, Apple Hardware Test mode, the boot (by holding the ALT/OPTION key) Manager and verbose mode. Also, I can start on the Internet recovery mode but once the download is complete, it is stuck on the gray screen (gray screen with the Apple logo WITHOUT horizontal line-online quick clear-online stuck on the gray screen black screen)

After a lot of googling and reading, that's what I've tried so far:

    -' fsck - fy " in single-user mode

-running Apple Hardware Test and the Apple Hardware Test extended, both are zero problem

-Reset PRAM and NVRAM, MSC, several times

    -with the help of this guide: https://www.afp548.com/2015/01/14/when-yosemite-has-fallen-and-it-cant-get-up/ in single-user mode: "rm - rf / Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/private/var/db/BootCache * '

    "rm - rf/Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/Library/Caches/com.apple*"

    "defaults write DSBindTimeout HD/Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow.plist Volumes/Macintosh\ - int 10.

-in single-user mode: empty the trash

    -in single-user mode: "sudo purge"

-in a single user mode: 'exit' or 'reboot'

However, during my fight, I could successfully arrives at the login screen, log in and use my MacBook for some time, about a half hour before the same thing happens, the mouse disappears and the system to freeze completely. I remember that both times where I was able to get to the login screen, it was after I had been in single user mode and typed 'Quit' or 'reboot'.

The above colorful horizontal line also appears in the single-user mode when I type "exit" AND I am UNABLE to get to the login screen later (photo below). It just goes to the gray white screen. Those two times when I was able to connect to exit single-user mode, the horizontal line colored is NOT appear in single-user mode.

The horizontal line colored when you exit single-user mode:

Here's what I see in Verbose mode:

    Hello

Follow these steps to remove corruption and missing/damaged file system repair or replacement.

Start - type in the search box - find command top - RIGHT CLICK – RUN AS ADMIN

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the above, update your main drivers: (Vista and Windows 7 love updated drivers)

It's my generic how updates of appropriate driver: (do it manually as shown)

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system. For
each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver, description,.
version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - note the brand and complete model of your
video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this
cannot do anything as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party with their
own the software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and then of the manufacturer of the device
(Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for the BIOS, Chipset and software)
updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - tab drivers version you install actually shows up. This
because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a
pilot - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW on device at the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - manually check by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver in the Windows updates,
This leaves ONE of Windows updates, but it will not install the drivers who are generally older and cause
questions. If updates offers a new driver and then hide it (right click on it) and then go look for new ones
    manually if you wish.

  • 7 merger, El Capitan, dual display: Windows now refuses to use the second screen

    Fusion 7.1.2

    End 2012 27 "iMac (2560 x 1440, 2.9GHz i5, 24GO RAM) with a 24 '' Dell Ultrasharp (1920 x 1200) connected by a Thunderbolt-HDMI connector cable.

Guest operating system Windows 7 (and a couple of VM Ubuntu, not relevant here).

Before, I would start merging and Windows 7 would start automatically, as it has to do. He will start in his own space and use two screens, with the windows desktop 'main' (with the taskbar on the screen of the Mac) and the Dell used to extend space office (just like OSX).

I just upgraded to OSX to El Capitan and now it's borked:

1 Windows 7 starts automatically with Fusion (despite still be configured for this purpose). It is a minor annoyance but nothing more.

    2. that's the real problem:

Windows displays the "BIOS" screen, and then the graphic screen "starting windows", then goes black. In preview VM library, I can see the login screen, but in the space of Windows, nothing. Just black.

When it happened first, I disconnected the monitor Dell, rebooted, logged on to Windows on one screen, then plugged the Dell back in and it worked. However, reconnected the external monitor on each startup of the machine is not my idea of fun or "just work".

I changed the display settings of VM Win7 molten (changed "use full resolution for the retina display" section, "Scaled high resolution" 'Unity only' drop-down to "all display modes" and now I can see the Windows login screen in half the width and height of the main screen.) If I log in I get two desktops to a Windows display value, crammed into the width, and half of the height of the 27 "display, with nothing on the external monitor. No amount of reconnected does not change this.

I restarted the VM and OSX more than once since upgrading to El Capitan, so a simple reboot won't be the solution.

    Help!

He drives me crazy, any suggestions?

I had another couple of VM Ware support calls and there is a solution (which works for me) and a fix promised in the next version of Fusion 8 (I presume it comes to version 8.0.2) which should be days (rather than weeks) away.

The fix may or may not be folded in to Fusion 7.

The workaround is: parameters of OSX--> Mission control--> check "screens have a separate space.

The downside is that when dragging between spaces, you often have to swipe the two screens, top menu bars have more two screens in OSX, but I can cope with it for a few days.
