V228g USB in reading only unbale to get in shape

I use usb HP V228g 16 GB for these past two years, but recently, I don't know what happened that my USB became read only so I'm unable to write anything in the USB. I tried many software of linux and windows as well to format it but no use.

Please let me know how I can fix this problem?

Hello, Audrey

I understand that your 16 GB pen drive is not allowing you to write files to it. Reformatting does not work also.

Unless the reader has become defective, this solution should work...

Download the USB Flash Driver (Ufix-II) formatting tool.
You may need 7-Zip to extract the .rar file. It's a free program and very common.
You will extract the downloaded file "RecoverTool_V2.00.42_M1223 8CE.exe" and run.

This should fix the problem read-only.

Welcome to the communities of Apple Support! It seems you need to set permissions on an external USB drive or hard drive. These permissions setting is a great way to improve the security and privacy of these elements. You've come to the right place and you will find the answer below. • Is it possible to set up a site with a read-only ftp access

I have a production server and a development server and work on a project with the non - DW users. Often, I need to download files from the production server, but never need to download to it (it's someone other responsibility).

I have two FTP accounts for the production server, one with unlimited access with read-only. I would like to implement a DW site that uses the read-only account to get the files from the server. It would also prevent me from accidentally upload on this server.

Unfortunately, I get permission denied errors when accessing the account read-only. I guess that's because the account does not write permission. I checked that the credentials work by FTPing the site using FileZilla and uploading a file.

The DW FTP requires write to a GET operation on a file?

Nevermind, answered this myself. It is possible, but the user must configure the site with the correct host directory.

  • USB key came into read-only mode

    Hello

This morning my USB key came into read-only mode and I can't reverse this trend. I just assumed to come from the third party who helped me write on NTFS, but I have a drive HARD Toshiba (NTFS) that works and a USB key that is read-only. I changed the third party software and the same result. I tried the option 'get info' and I still do not see the permissions.

I tried to format the drive - because it is read-only won't let me not - it. And so on.

I tried disk utility - no result.

I need an idea, suggestion, something for it to work.

    Thank you.

When some Flash storage starts to falter, it locks in a read-only mode. So, it might be failing.

When you try to format the drive, you must select the drive itself in disk utility, not partitions. If that's how you try to reformat, so I guess it's a failure.

  • How to make Toshiba USB 250 GB HARD drive read-only?

    Hello

I just plug a Toshiba USB 250g external hard drive to replace all the sticks of memory, I've been using.

I'll use this external hard drive to copy files to other computers and I would like to know how to make the drive read-only.

Moreover, all the other tips to protect the disc would be extremely welcome.

I use a Dell with Windows 7 laptop.

    Thank you very much

    Dougal

I don't know what HARD drive you have exactly, but I know that Toshiba offers a software protection with external hard drives.
Did you check manuals? Is something like that provided with your HARD drive?

Maybe you need to use some third party software part for the protection of files on the HARD drive. Google all over the place.

  • I can read only half of my product key due to wear, but I need to reinstall xp on my hard drive again. How can I get the key?

I can read only half of my product key due to wear, but I need to reinstall xp on my hard drive again. How can I get the key?

If you can still boot your old disk, you can use a program such as one of them:

    KeyFinder: <> http://www.magicaljellybean.com/ >
    Belarc Advisor: <> http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html >

to read the key out of your old system.

Also note that if you have a system OEM and the OEM installation disks, the key can be incorporated in the installation discs and can not be necessary when your reinstalling Windows.

  • Why do I get a 'read only File' it means of a new document?

When you save a file in Word 2007, which I just created, I get a box that says he is 'read only', even if the file is NOT read only and just created. This seems to happen randomly, and not with all the files, but on frequent basis. I don't know why this is happening or how to fix.

    Hello Davehen,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers Community!

This sounds like the behavior of the trial version of Office 2007. Have you installed the full version on the trial version?

If yes try to uninstall then reinstall Office 2007 to see if that solves the problem for you.

If still no luck, try to reach out to the newsgroup issues General Word for assistance.

  • Can read/write internal NAS200 fine readers - USB drives seem to be read-only

I seem to have the opposite problem of most people.  I have two internal drives in a RAID 1 array on my NAS200 and I have no problem with them.  I can insert a flash drive into one of the USB ports and I have no problem reading and writing to it.  I can even insert a USB camera card reader and can read and write to him as well.

But I can't seem to write to an external drive, I have plug into one of the USB ports.  I tried several USB drives - none of them work in the NAS200.  They WILL work on my PC and my MAC Powerbook. I tried several disks in a thermal BlacX doc take a 2.5 external hard drive case and another box of 3.5 inches.  I have tried everything I can think of - have had this problem since I purchased the NAS200 4 months.

Any advice on how I can write on a USB external drive attached to the NAS200?

    Thank you

    Without backup

Your USB device is probably formatted to NTFS, and the NAS200 only supports NTFS in read-only mode. If you want to write to a device via the NAS200, it must be FAT or FAT32 format.

rThen your question isn't specific to Windows 7, you must consult the manufacturer. You should be able to disable the USB via the BIOS ports. Also, why do you want to set the optical drive as read only? If it is shared? If so, the advanced sharing disk properties, from there, you can set permissions on the drive. Permission can be derived from the API method used by the cmdlet Get-Log under the covers.

In the description of the BrowseDiagnosticLog method, you will see that it takes the Global.Diagnostics .

The default read-only role does not have this privilege!

You will need to create a new role.

The other point to watch is the location in the structure of vSphere where give you permission.

I feel that this specific one should be given to the root of the vCenter to allow access to newspapers.
