Validation of a user logon options

We have a third party application for which a database user account you created for each user. Is it possible for APEX validate logon by using the database accounts existing or you have create an APEX account for each user? Also, logons can be validated by using a custom table with users and encrypted passwords stored in it? Are required to create a user from APEX to APEX?

Well, we had already figured out the authentication via a different scheme for a different project, so we were able to use what we already had.

The issue is that fnd_web_sec.validate_login () does not work if it is not called the APPS schema. This can be worked around by creating a "wrapper" function Here is ours:

create or replace package body apps.hypr_web_sec as
  function authenticate( i_username in varchar2, i_password in varchar2 ) return boolean is
  begin
    return( apps.fnd_web_sec.validate_login(i_username,i_password) = 'Y');
  exception
    when others then return false;
  end authenticate;
end apps.hypr_web_sec;

We have a few other useful features out there, but it's the passkey outside the APPS schema.

  • There is no user switch option on the login screen

    Good morning/afternoon

Last night, I tried to connect to my Windows Vista laptop.  At the time I didn't realize it but I entered the wrong password, instead, I thought I was trying to log using the wrong user.

I have advanced and dial-up user log-ins and it was at that point that I realized that the password has been my problem from the beginning.

Right now I wanted switched back to the user login, but the ability to "change user" is gone.

The only way I can access this laptop is with this specific user login.

    Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Paul

It seems that if you somehow locked the system and when it is done it can only be unlocked by the user who has locked (which is why you see a log on option instead of a disconnect option and pushing the logon option gets you only to this one screen because it is the user who put in place the lock.)  This is normal and the way it's supposed to happen.  You can not change user if the system is locked by another user.  Once you login, you should be able to then go to the Start Menu and change user because the system is locked is no longer.

If change username does not appear as an option in the start menu and the problem is not that the system is locked, then it may have become disabled.  Here is a procedure to re-enable the switch user option in the start menu if it's missing:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/89939-fast-user-switching.html.

If you want to change username (and don't mind close all windows for the current user, not), then you can press ALT + F4 and which will eventually wear a shutdown window.  Click the arrow next to the selected option and other options appear.  One will be to change username.  Select it and click OK.  The switch user should start.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Unknown user logon password

my windows 7 password to logon to my computer was changed into something that I don't know how can I get this off so I can use my computer need help have a lot of data and cannot afford to lose it

There are a lot of options built into Windows to help you out of this situation: usual
    • Restart the computer with your Windows repair CD, then use system restore to restore Windows to a point before your password "has changed."
    • Log on to your account admin to spare, and then reset the password for your existing account (works only if you set up an alternative admin account).
    • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (the password is usually empty).
    • Insert your flash drive USB with the password key file (only works if you have taken the time to create such a key file).
    • Use the password indicator (works only if you have created a hint and if it's good enough to allow you to guess the password)
    • Check your paper files (works only if you threw down the password somewhere)
The data you can't afford to lose: there are three groups of people:
    1. The largest group: those who do not back up their important files or save them only once in a blue moon.
    2. A small group: those who now save their files frequently because they have suffered a major disaster.
    3. The smallest group: those who back up their files regularly on an external storage medium because they prefer not to wait for the disaster to happen.
There is a gradual migration from the first to the second group. The transition can be extremely painful. I suspect that you are about to move from Group 1 to group 2.
  • How to start the program before windows 7 user logon

I already know how to start a program when a user logs on to Windows 7. * (Not easy to find, but once you know the trick, it's simple as pie: place a shortcut in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup). So don't answer that. I already know that.

    But my question is this:

How can I get the same program to launch * before * the users logon? I want the program start when Windows restarts.

This program does not require the user's privileges - does not open the files, etc., except access to (of course) its location in C:\Program Files (x 86) / folder.

(What, you may ask? I would like to launch a program of Wake-on-LAN to send a "magic packet" to a computer on the local subnet to sleep. Asleep computer happens to host some of the shared data).

If you want to start until the user opens a session, you will have to start as a service.

This is the boot sequence for the main registry keys, starting immediately after reading bootmgr and ending with the program shortcut entries in the two startup folders.

1 HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\BootExecute. This may include instructions to schedule chkdsk runs, but not the user programs.

2 services start ensuites, followed by the keys of registry RunServicesOnce and RunServices (if present)

    3. the user then connects to the system

4 HKLM Winlogon, Userinit. This indicates that the program C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe, and the entry ends with a comma. Other programs can be started from this key by adding and separated by a comma.

    5 HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Shell. This must contain an entry, explorer.exe.

    6. program entered into these key 2 registry for all USERS start following:

    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and \RunOnce

    7. program entered into these 2 registry for the CURRENT USER key start following:

    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and \RunOnce

    8. programs in startup of all records users and current user are started last of all.

Important as antivirus and firewall programs begin early in the sequence as Services. The icons that appear in the Notification area (at the bottom right of the screen) is just their user interfaces, i.e. options and preferences.

The additional location of 32-bit applications on a 64-bit computer is HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node and HKCU.

  • Last feature via Group Policy user logon

I understand how to turn off the last user logon feature is via group policy if I wanted users to always have to type their user name and passwords by logging into Windows XP or Windows 7 workstations.
What I really want to do if I can, is to allow the possibility for the user assigned to the specific workstation to always display their username when they sign in, but if I connect the SysAdmin, I don't want them to see this.
So, if I work on their workstations, then logoff or restart, I want for their username to remember and displays not only mine.
Is there a way to do this?

  • VPN connection before user logon in the domain environment

I took a huge project, but managed to set up a comprehensive network for an organization not-for-profit.  Is only a single obstacle, but the answer is completely referring me.
I installed a Windows 7 Ultimate in a test environment.  The server is standard 2012 and are located off site.  I have configured VPN and can connect, but remains one of the limitations...
    THE SITUATION
... the computer, I am preparing in aura production environment users and will be on the field.  They have shut down the computer during the night and on weekends.  During my tests, I found that VPN will NOT connect automatically.  I don't want a users to this remote location with access to the local office any longer.  Everyone must sign their credentials of domain only, and I'll be locking the local office with identifying information has changed.
With the help of Google, I found several ways to automate so-called VPN connection, but every article I've read so far says that it happens as a script at logon Windows.  Who defeated the purpose here.  I wish the VPN to be connected at startup, BEFORE the opening of the session, so that users can sign on the field immediately after the power of the computer.  I had considered just giving a directive to leave the PC on 24/7, but in case of crash or regular updates of Windows, which would put us back to the start.
    DEMAND
Can I do so that the VPN connects automatically TO a user on a desktop computer log?
    THE SPECS
The clients are on Windows 7 Ultimate Edition
Connection VPN set up in windows (no third party software)
Windows Server 2012 with Active Directory server-side
Before someone says, yes I know that Server 2012 has called DirectAccess, however even if it is installed, it is not an option with my setup because I won't drag desktop through the city to connect to the domain when I can use VPN just as easily without the risk of damaging the material.
I appreciate the answers and eager to solve this.  It must be possible, as I hear from companies doing this all the time for satellite facilities.  Have a good night :)

  • Run as user different option missing

In Windows 7 If you hold the SHIFT key while clicking a program icon you are supposed to get some hidden options "run as Administrator" or "run as different user". In my case, the second another user option is missing. How this can be solved?

    Hello answerthephone,

You can check out the tutorial here for the "Run as Administrator" option.
It is a registry change so be sure that you make a backup in case it does not work as expected.

NOTE: the REGISTRY settings change incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk.

  • Validation of the user side BBM server.

I'm building a service for blackberry app. I want users to register to my application using their ppId (https://developer.blackberry.com/cascades/reference/bb__platform__bbm__userprofile.html), so they can connect using their devices.

But given that the API calls can receive false data, I check the side Server ID they send me is one and that is the username valid.

Is there a service to check that?

I see what you mean now.  I thought you meant false data from the API itself.

It is not enough that it be integrated into suitable ppid.  You will need to implement another type of security measure in your application so that the side server knows that the request comes from your application and any other malicious source.
